Who: All of Wonderland
Where: The grounds/garden/maze area.
When: Sept 21 - the evening of the 23rd
Rating: G for the Festival itself; please put content warn for anything beyond a PG-13!
Summary: Wonderland's first Fall Festival!
The Story:

[ There is a video message, and Leslie is standing at the very front of the Fall Festival, ready to welcome everyone in. But not without a small speech. ]
Fellow residents of Wonderland,
In my short time with you so far, I've realized people either want to be here for various reasons, or they'd really like to leave as soon as they can and don't want anything to do with any aspect of this place. Which is fair and understandable. I realize some things happened recently that reinforces the idea that we're all stuck in a miserable place with no way out and no idea how long we'll stay.
I'd like to offer a different way of coping.
The thing is, we could all be really upset and angry all the time or sad about being here, or we could take advantage of what is given to us and do something. Whether you lift up a friend or make a stranger smile, what matters is that we're all stuck together. And together, we either make this a totally crappy place that feels depressing, or we try to look out for one another. This is me, looking out for you. I want you to have fun and I want people to smile, so I created this!
[ It's now more evident that her device is on a selfie-stick as she raises it up to reveal carnival tents, rides, and games, a rollercoaster and a Ferris wheel. Then, she lowers it back down to her level. ]
I realize a Fall Festival doesn't solve any real issues. But it's a space where you can have fun, even if it's just for five minutes to win a stupid carnival prize. You don't have to come. In fact, you are more than welcome to hate it outright. But if you do give it a chance, I hope you have fun.
[ She gives a little wave and the video ends. Come one, come all, and have fun! ]
ooc notes:
Please use the subject lines for top levels and treat as gathering! Highlights include:
dunk tank (feel free to take turns volunteering to be the character in it!)
Mr. Mystery and his amazing Side Show of Wonders.
A pie-eating contest hosted by Wendy Corduroy.
Shawn Spencer, the psychic and Fortune Teller.
Souji's amazing Waffle Cart.
Lil' Sebastian as cared for by April Ludgate-Dwyer.
Live music by Mettaton!
Any type of carnival game and carnival prizes you can think of will also be around, as well as all the crappy fried fair food you can imagine!

Souji | OTA
After Souji talked to Leslie some time ago, he gave serious thought to the idea of a mobile waffle cart. A fair is a perfect time to try it out. He's ready with a variety of toppings and even flavored batters. He aims to please.
So, because his entire life is cooking apparently, he spends the fair mostly making waffles for people. He occasionally takes a break to wander around and see what he can see, though. Find him anywhere!]

Anything you recommend?
no subject
[Which is most, but not quite all of the menu.]
With fruit, for example.
no subject
Can I have a blueberry one, then?
no subject
[He smiles a bit and pours some batter into the iron. The batter itself is slightly sweetened, so it could be eaten alone. But why do that when there are 13954 toppings?]
You haven't been in Wonderland long, right?
[Might as well talk while they wait.]
no subject
No, about a month. How long have you been here?
no subject
[And since that might be an alarming thing to hear, he adds:]
Most people only stay one or two, though.
no subject
[He's impressed, but also kind of concerned. Does this guy even really recall his life back home? One can forget a decent amount in seven years...]
Do you miss home after all those years?
no subject
[ She sounds like she's had 10 pounds of sugar already, smiling brightly. ]
no subject
Take your pick. There's plenty to choose from.
no subject
[ She's a lady who knows what she's about. ]
no subject
Got it.
[He pours some batter into the waffle iron and, without looking up, asks:]
How is it going?
[Meaning the festival.]
no subject
[ Which is such a relief. Her first big thing couldn't be a total flop, how embarrassing. ]
no subject
[People generally don't avoid things like this, if only because it's a nice break from the monotony that happens between events.]
Where'd you get the idea for this? Is it something you have at home?
no subject
[ She smiles, still really proud of herself. ]
And it meant I could give back to the community twice: once with the Festival, then again with the new park.
no subject
[The waffle is done, so he sets about putting the toppings on.]
It seems like you have a lot of good ideas.
no subject
[ If she can do that, then job well done. And she's watching him put the toppings on and kind of gestures for him to keep going with the whipped cream. ]

It's echoing through Monika's head as she walks. The temptation to raid one of the beer stands is getting very strong, and not just because it's her birthday and that's the expectation. It's more to stop being so damn nervous. This probably wouldn't be an issue any other day--she was good at faking confidence--but it's not often people have to apologize for creepy schools and murder.
With a deep breath, she decides it's now or never and taps on Souji's shoulder from behind. She purposely waited until he'd left his waffle cart, just in case someone decided to come up for one and interrupt her apology. This was hard enough already! ]
Hey, um. Can I talk to you for a bit?
no subject
Of course. What's up?
[He gives her a little smile, wanting to be encouraging.]
no subject
Monika returns the smile weakly and glances away. She imagines she'd probably give him a deep bow as she apologized profusely if she was the ~cute anime girl~ she was supposed to be. The idea of it felt strange, though. ]
Um. [ She injects a bit more cheer into her smile, shoving at those thoughts, trying to get them out of her head. ] You...know how Wonderland is, right? Ahaha!
[ After a few moments, she groans and holds her forehead. ] I think I've said "sorry" so many times today that it doesn't seem like a real word anymore.

[Souji understands how Palaces work because they're very similar to the way things worked inside the TV world. They take forms based on the people they belong to. So he understands what he saw in Monika's Palace in that way.
Not that what he saw wasn't pretty shocking. He can understand why it would worry her.]
no subject
[ God knows that wasn't like her. She wouldn't go airing all her dirty laundry so openly like that normally!
Also, she's not a murderer. So, yeah. ]
Thanks for, you know, not judging me. Not that I'd blame you. I guess I have a pretty overactive imagination or something!
[ Because she sure wasn't going to let off how much of that place wasn't imagination. ]
no subject
The game you're from seems like a scary one.
no subject
[ It was dumb to think she could slip things past Souji, but it was worth a shot. At least she knew he was someone to trust. A small comfort.
Monika looks away with a sigh. ]
There's a special kind of horror that comes from being the only one who knows they're trapped in a game.
no subject
Listen. I know you've been through a lot. And I can imagine how lonely you were. You don't need to worry about what was in your Palace. At least not with me.
