Where: The Beach
When: Two days ago, noonish [u.u I'm late in posting this]
Rating: Iunno, PG/PG-13?
Summary: Elena owes Dante a date, which they decide to spend at the beach. There's more than that of course, but what you'll have to find out for yourself. ♥
the Story:

Finally emerging from the steps, Elena sighed. She couldn't remember which floor she was on. If there was any God at all she would be on the first. Elena headed toward what she believed to be the dining room. Looking down at her watch she bit her lip. She was close to an hour late.

"Hopefully Dante isn't angry."

Dante was leaning against the door of the dining room for... maybe 45 minutes now? It was already well past noon... but he didn't mind waiting. After all, they had... haha. all night. He won that fight fair and square, so it was all her time that she was giving up. Today he wasn't wearing much, given he knew well they were going to the beach: (though he yet to really understand how, maybe there was one near the mansion?) just another casual pair of cargo pants and his combat boots. No coat this time, thick leather didn't... well.. really do well with sand. Underneath his pants, however, he wore and old pair of baggy shorts. What? its not like he ever did much swimming.... and the few times he did? That’s called skinny dipping. But he wasn't so sure how Elena would really approve of that this time around. At least, not so much on their first date, anyway.

He peered out down the hall and caught sight of a lost looking, short-haired blonde woman wandering about. "Oi! Over here, babydoll~" he said out to her, still casually leaning. Hahaha. Look who the late one was now.

"Sorry." She said jogging up to him. "I told you I wasn't very good with finding my way around this place. It would have been much faster if you'd come to get me."

Elena tugged on her top as it rode up above her midriff. She was dressed oddly casual, mostly because Dante had picked on her suit. Underneath she wore a very flattering bikini, one that the mansion had provided; though Elena had clearly asked for a full one. She groaned mentally when she thought of how Dante would react. She also wore some causal jeans that she found very comfortable.

Before coming she also stopped by the kitchen to collect some snacks to eat on the beach. Her bag was packed with goodies to keep them entertained. Despite basically having to go against her will, Elena was excited to go to the beach; to get out the mansion. “Ready to go?"

He gave her a playful wink as he got up off the wall and tucked his hands into his pockets. "More than ready; I'm tired of this dump." Yeah, that’s right. Dump. He was so sick of being cooped up in this mansion like this... he needed to get outside.. get some fresh air, and away from.. well, all this morbid shit that has been taking place over these last few days.

With slight skip in his step, he picked up pace and began walking towards the courtyard exit... really, the only one he really knew of.. but an exit is an exit, right? They all lead to the same place, which is outside. And.. one way or another, to the beach they were trying to get to. But still, he wasn't exactly so sure where it was they needed to go to get there from the outside, but maybe.. he'd just trust his own navigational instinct?

...

ehhh... well.. maybe not.

"so um. You know exactly how to get to this beach then?" he asked nonchalantly.

Elena rolled her eyes, albeit playfully, at Dante. She walked behind him, his hair catching her eye. A shiver ran down her spine as she was reminded of the remnants. They were somewhere roaming around the mansion; the thought caused her to touch the scar on her abdomen. This was one of the first times she really left her room in a long while, actually the first since they arrived at the mansion. Would she be able to protect herself if they attacked? Would they have incentive to?

Elena crossed her arms over her chest for comfort. It was then that she realized Dante had spoken. "Oh! right...I heard something about it being behind the mansion. I'm not really sure though." She smiled sheepishly. "It should be there...If not we could at least spend our time walking around together. That counts as a date right?" Elena asked as she passed and began walking ahead of him. She obviously had more than of a clue to wear it was then he did.

The half turned around and gave her a small, passive grin. "mmmm okay okay.. so we'll just wander around til we find it then.. sure." Yeah, he didn't mind. Outside was outside, after all.

As he opened the door out to the courtyard and stood by for her to pass (because Dante can be such a gentleman. Yeah, right.), he couldn't help but take notice of the bag. "mmmm whats in the bag?" Dante was a dunce when it came to beachgoing. Seriously, he didn't even bring a towel, so regardless of how typically stupid this question was, it wasn't really so much as so to him.

"Well. I brought some food. I know how hungry you devils get." Elena teased trying her hand at a joke. She actually didn't know how hungry devils got, seeing as Dante and his brother were the first she ever met. "Plus I brought a few other things for the beach, like an umbrella, some lotion, and towels and other things of that nature." She shifted the bag on her shoulder as she looked around the courtyard.

Coming to a fork in the road Elena looked down them both. One seemed to lead to the forest, the other she wasn't so sure where it led to. This was the one she took. "I think it should be this way. It can't be that far away. If we pass it I'm sure we'll know because of course we'll end up back in the mansion." She looked down at her watch. It was nearly eight. They maybe had an hour and thirty minutes before it was totally dark. She didn't want that. If that happened Dante would make the date into something Elena totally didn't want it to be. This thought gave fuel to her step and she grabbed Dante's wrist and pulled him quickly along the path. "Come on. Let's hurry. It'll get dark soon."

"Whoooaahh whats the hurry?" he went on sheepishly. "Isn't that what we want? The dark is when all the fun happens~" Hahah indeed it was. Dante didn't do much work during the day back at home... demons only tread at night.. not to mention, as do the whores.. and the parties... and the guys who don't card you for beer...

He continued on after her, his wrist still in her hand as they continued. It was almost as if... almost as if she really were rushed to get this over with. Pff. Was he really that much of a pain in the ass to be around? Well, maybe he'd have to work on proving her wrong tonight... hopefully some proving well involving rubbing sun oil on her nearly naked body. Heheh.

"I'm pretty sure your idea of fun and mine are two completely different things." Elena said with a shudder as an image pierced her mind. She replaced Dante in the image with Tseng and sudden became flustered. She immediately pushed it out of her mind. Her attention was brought to the air, it suddenly had a salty smell to it and Elena knew they were close." She pulled ahead and smiled as her feet finally connected with sand. It brought back memories of when she was a little girl. A trip to the beach was a regular occurrence in her family. They were some of the happiest times of her life.

But that was before she became a Turk, when she actually had a life and free time. Now her life was the Turks or it had been back in Midgar. Now, her life was a broad subject. It was whatever the mansion chose it to be. She smiled up at Dante despite her thoughts, resorting to her childish instincts that came about whenever she set foot on the beach or anything that reminded her of her childhood.

She quickly removed her shoes and placed them next to the bag in the sand; her clothes following in suit. When she was wearing nothing but her swimsuit she looked to Dante once again. "I'll race ya?" She said raising her eyebrows in what could only be described as a challenging expression.

He couldn't help but just stop and stare as she stripped down to her swimsuit... this stare, of course, being one of great approval; icy cold eyes took in the curves of her soft skin, which was for the most part- completely revealed save for a few, more intimate areas. Dante always knew he had a knack for picking the well-framed chicks, but he wasn't so entirely sure about her, since when they had originally met, she was wearing that bland... rather unflattering uniform. Still, the skin was quite a welcoming sight. He however, immediately snapped out of his trance the moment Elena had offered to race him down to the water.

"ooooh? Is that a challenge I hear? You're on then, little girl." Shame he didn't have a lot of good control over his Devil Trigger, perhaps he could have impressed her by flying there... but maybe it would be equally as impressive to just beat her in a human footrace. "On the count of three then? You count."

Elena barely even noticed Dante's wandering eyes. If she had she would have been hopelessly flustered but she was too busy staring out at the sand and the water, which was glistening under the sun. "Alright. Devil boy~"

Elena said smirked as an idea popped into her head. It was so devious and out of character that Elena had to laugh at it but she needed some fun and freedom so she would carry it out. Her mood seemed to have lifted greatly after leaving the mansion.

"One.." she started but she bent over knowing full well this would distract Dante. “two, three!" She screamed as she grabbed a handful of sand and threw it back at him and raced for the water.

The moment Dante saw her lean down was like pure heaven for him as he took full view of her rather firm-looking bottom- his cheeks growling slightly red and flustered at some of the dirty thoughts that came into his mind... but shame to come forth, she had well fooled him as he took the sand directly into his face and eyes as she darted ahead. He let out as small hiss, before a brief chuckle. "oohoo that was dirty, I'll get you for that." He said to himself playfully as he then raced after her, planning well on to pay her back for that nasty little trick of hers with a few of his own. At least though, it was good to know that the girl had a playful side to her. Really, the way she behaved back at the mansion, she seemed so.. so stiff and bitter. Now though, the moment she had shed that dank uniform seemed like the very instant her cold behavior vanished and was replaced with a sunny, more charming one.

How interesting. Perhaps she was just that gifted in knowing where to draw the line between being a professional and serving leisure.

Elena giggled another rare sight from her. It felt so much better to have something familiar in this strange and new place; one that had only recently brought her unhappiness. She was clinging to this little piece of the past and home for dear life.

She ran into the water, the cold liquid mixed with sand clinging to her body. "I win! I win I win I win!" She screamed as she watched Dante racing toward her. And it felt pretty good; Elena was hardly ever the best at anything. Not with Tseng, Reno, and Rude as her teammates. It was darn near impossible. She waited until Dante came a little closer and sent a splash his way.

And as soon as Dante hit the water after shedding his boots and outer pants, he near instantly froze and started shivering; not to be helped by Elena splashing him. "F--F-FFUCCCK ITS COLD!" he spat out loudly, wincing as he became drenched. He couldn't help it, he had cold blood; being... well.. Partially what he was. He remained stiff to try and adjust a bit, arms folded tightly around his body as he eased in like a sissy, thermally intolerant woman.

"Mann... You'd think the water would be hot this time of year or something.." He could slowly feel his skin getting used to it though... man.. but was this embarrassing or what...

"You baby! Get over it. It feels pretty good to me." She said laughing at the sight of him. "Here let me help you a bit." And with that Elena put one hand on Dante's head and pushed him under the water. She couldn't help it. Things like this just brought out the child in her. And she felt extremely guilty having left Tseng in the mansion. As if she was betraying him by just being out having fun with Dante. And the President was a whole other matter.

She was sure he would not enjoy this sight of Elena goofing around when she could be working on how to get out of the mansion and back home. She sighed and bit her lip, her momentary high slowly falling by the second. Why did she always do this? She felt such a duty to the Turks, the President, and Tseng that it felt like outright betrayal when she did the slightest things that deviated from the Turks way.

Dante bit down on his tongue hard as he was shoved down; the sudden salt in his eyes and cold sensation of the water all around him overtaking his senses momentarily.... but really, more than anything, it did do the trick; after that, he actually felt a lot better. hmmm...

Maybe it was time for that payback.

He remained underwater, moving away from her hand and out of her reach. He then skimmed the ocean floor ever-so-stealthily a good distance away from her to where she'd be unable to see him... and there, still underwater; he waited...

Elena gripped at the empty water. She could have sworn Dante has just been there a second ago. He couldn't have gotten that far. She waved blindly in the water, hoping to find his head. She hadn't killed him had she? Noooo...impossible. Dante can't be killed that easily.

She crossed her arms over her chest. His little stunt reminded her so much of Reno, except for the most part she and Dante got along better. "Alright Dante. Very funny. You can come out now." She began walking further into the ocean. "I know I haven't killed you. Come on. Enough." She said her eyes darting nervously across the top of the water.

He began to circle her precariously, the infamous 'JAWS' theme playing in the back of his head as he locked his sight upon her slender legs within the sand... but he didn't make his move yet... no, not just yet.

Whats the matter little girl, afraid of being alone in the water?

Elena sighed, her hand coming up to wipe her dripping hair from her face. She pushed it back in one swift motion then returned her arms to cross across her chest. "Daaante! Stop playing. You're really worrying me. Devil's have to breathe too don't they?" Elena wasn't so sure, a part of her knew he was planning to play a trick on her and that she should get out of the water but another part in the back of her mind was nagging her and telling her something was wrong. Damn her kind-hearted and caring soul! Now she was looking directly down at the water, hoping to peer down and see Dante's body. "Coome on. This isn't funny." She whined.

The moment he could hear her getting tense from underwater was the very one he decided to strike... well, that and the moment he got low on air. He carved through the water quickly and dove towards Elena, just before he lunged out of the water and threw his arms around her from behind with a playful growl; water dancing and splashing about in his sudden rise to the surface. Without even giving her enough time to react, he pulled her close to his body from behind and jerked her backwards into the water with him, taking them down underneath the surface- where it was then he decided to let go.

But not without getting a quick feel of her ass of course.

Elena gasped, the water suddenly flooding into her mouth. I knew it. It was only a stupid trick. I should have known better than to think he was in danger. She mentally punched herself as Dante released her. And that was when she felt his groping hands. Her eyes narrowing as she stood up. The burning in her throat causing her to cough up a bit of water, clearing enough of it to allow air through her wind pipe again. She waited until Dante came up for air as well and that is when she aimed her punch right between his eyes. "Watch your hands next time. Pervert!"

As soon as Dante surfaced once more, he saw stars as he was punched right between the eyes.

Ouch. Rejection at its finest. He shook his head a bit and refocused his eyesight back onto her; seeing that the both of them were well drenched... making that swimsuit of hers.. stick to her skin very.. very nicely.

Dante smiled stupidly, rubbing the back of his head with a wet hand, "eheh.. sorry, it was an accident." Of course, this was totally a blatant lie... and the punch he received was well worth it anyway.

"Of course it was. And just what are you staring at?" Elena squeaked covering her chest with her arms. She felt like an insect under a microscope under Dante's cold gaze.

"Come on. Let's go back. All this splashing around is making me hungry." With that Elena turned around and began heading back to the bag. She ran toward it the sand kicking up behind her. Dropping to her knees when she finally reached the bag, she pulled out a few sandwiches the mansion had made; along with some juice and other assorted snacks.

She also set up the umbrella and a towel under it so she could rest without getting burned to a crisp by the sun. Which reminded her, she needed to put on some lotion since sunburn was not something she enjoyed too well.

"mmm... You. Duh. The wet look really works for you, yannow?" He wasn't so sure what he did to get her so flustered all of a sudden... usually the girls back at home loved it when Dante was forward with them..

But hey, maybe he could get her to warm up to him... in due time.

He idly followed her out of the water and slinked down into the sand beside her towel and slightly under the shade of her umbrella. Dante loved sitting under the sun. It always brought him a certain, good energy to him when he did so.. even if it meant he'd get sunburn to a crisp. (though really, that was rare.)

"So..." he began somewhat awkwardly in attempts to make conversation. "So... why do you always wear that big uniform, anyway? You look so much better without it."

"Huh?" Elena said. She was completely blindsided by his question. She hadn't really talked about the Turks with anyone in the mansion who wasn't a member. "Oh. Well. You see, it's a requirement of my job. I don't want to look unprofessional; it’s already enough having to prove myself as a rookie and a woman." After that sentence her mouth snapped shut. She was always letting things slip. Even still after years of practice. Sometimes once every blue moon her emotions showed through and she let her mouth get a little too loose.

To cover up and avoid Dante asking a question about her statement she quickly unwrapped the sandwich. "Here eat." She said quickly stuffing half of the sandwich into his mouth. "You look a little hungry." And with that she took a bite of the other half of the sandwich; her body which had suddenly become tense relaxing back against the umbrella.

Dante coked an eyebrow at her, the sandwich half hanging out of his mouth and paused for a moment.

What the fuck kind of job makes a woman have to wear a big, overly covering uniform? If anything, a requirement for a cute woman's job back at home would usually require her to wear no clothes at all.

But Dante mentally slapped himself for that thought. This isn't home, and it was more than obvious that Elena wasn't a flamboyant whore.

He took the sandwich out of his mouth and swallowed the bite.. before carrying on the subject. "... how dumb," he said, casually, closing his eyes. "No one should have to make you feel like there's something you need to be proving just because you're a woman or a novice." Yeah, he was being rather forward now. "sounds like a stupid job. You should quit." He didn't even really make eye contact with her, but was just purposely, coolly doing away with the sandwich, now and then licking the oozing dressing from it off of his fingers.

Elena found she couldn't make eye contact with Dante either. She took slow bites and when she finished most of her sandwich she spoke. "No one is really making me prove myself. I just hate feeling inferior. Like it's my fault a mission is compromised. I want T-..my superior to look at me and be proud. I also don't want the President to be ashamed of me either. And it's also not so easy as 'quitting'; actually its next to near impossible. Plus I could never really quit. The Turks are the closest thing to family I've got. If I left them, who else in the world would give a damn about me." Closing her fist around the towel, she gripped it tightly.

There she went again. Whenever someone asked the right question, she broke like cracked dam. Elena finished her sandwich and then proceed to take a sip of the juice. "So what about you and your brother?" With the change of subject she found she was able to look up at Dante.

"... well, I'd care about you." he said, feeling kinda cheezy in that statement. But he would, after all, she did oblige to the fight AND the date with him.. and she had to be one of the very first female mansion residents to do so... so.. well, yeah. Maybe she was his first outside friend... kinda.. sorta.. even though he was totally positive she thinks hes creepy.

"Oh uhm... Vergil... we have... an odd relationship." Odd as in... incestual? It really wasn't that odd to them, but he knew for a fact that most humans found it disgusting... so he didn't bring that little part up. "One day we're okay with each other.. and the next we'll be dire enemies... and yeah.. you know.. He's a few minutes older than me, so often he thinks he can push me around." Yeah. That jackass. "But all in all I guess we're glad to be here in this together... even though this whole 'being trapped in this mansion shit' came kinda unexpected.."

Elena smiled; maybe there was more to Dante than meets the eye. Yeah. Something in there besides a perverted devil. "I'd appreciate that but I'm sure it still wouldn't help me much when I returned to my own world. Also. I just could never disappoint my Superior that way. And even though sometimes I mess up I still feel as if I belong with the Turks. It's really not all that bad you know. I wear that uniform of my own choice. I'm sure there are others I could wear. Maybe I'll treat you and ask the mansion for something new next time." She said winking at him as she threw the leftover trash into a small bag.

"And to tell you the truth. I can honestly say I care about you too. I cherish my mansion friends just as much as the ones from home. I mean I was really worried about you when you were having problems with your brother." Elena said and as soon as she did she knew it was true. She cared about Celine, Dante, Momo and the others just as she would Tseng, Reno or Rude. If she ever did return home, she would never forget any of them. "Just don't take that to the head and start groping me again."

"An odd relationship is right. But what do I really know? My sister and I will never be as close as you and Vergil. You should be thankful for what you have. Anyway. What are we sitting around talking for? We can do that any other day in the mansion. We should take advantage of the beach while we have it; especially to ourselves. The ones back home were always packed." With that Elena stood. "But first I'll need to put on some lotion. Sunburn and I don't really get along."

Dante listened to her, not really finishing up his sandwich as he did so. He couldn't help but faintly smile as Elena had mentioned that he was a friend. That certainly was welcoming news, considering that; well... a good amount of the mansion hated his guts for either what he did to Henry, or for what Vergil did to... um.. everyone.

... yeah, they always were good at making first impressions...

He then lifted himself up haphazardly as he noted her stand as well.

"... need some help with that, then?" His question was.. rather eager. Almost in the same tone as a child would be asking their mother to lick the spoon whilst making a cake.

Elena sighed and gave in, handing the bottle to Dante. She knew she would probably regret this. "Fine, go ahead."

Dante took the bottle with haste and immediately squirted some of its contents onto his hands. Thus after well oiled, he moved behind her and sat beside her towel. "You gonna lay down for me?" He asked cheekily. "Allows me.. better coverage."

Elena eyed him suspiciously. Regret was already beginning to settle in. She sighed and obliged once again. She laid down with her stomach against the towel, putting her arms up so she rest her head against it. "Are you happy now?"

Dante leaned over and cracked his fingers amongst one another before he began to rub the oil into her back. "Thats perfect, baby. Don't move." he whispered to her gingerly as he began to massage the oil about, his hands working over her lower and mid spine, and snaking their way under the top of her swimsuit to slide and delve around there, working over her shoulder blades and along under her arms... almost touching her breasts... but not quite.

Elena sighed once again, her eyes closing in the process. "Baby? Dante. We've talked about this." She in a way that was similar to they way a teacher would scold a child. But nonetheless she did not stop him. Actually his touch was luring her to sleep.

Dante wasn't exactly entirely sure how to respond to that. All of his life (that is, since puberty anyway); he had called women that, and usually, they hang all over him in return.. well, if it meant there was something in it for them anyway, being dinner... or money.. or... something.

He continued to rub, finally mustering a reply. "Well.. they're just nicknames. And its not like I call every girl that; usually its just the ones I find attractive..." he went on, registering what he was saying. "so... you should be flattered!" Yeah.. yeah flattered. To be looked at as attractive by Dante. eheh.

Okay, so his ego was talking again. Big deal?

"Flattered? By what? That you're lumping me in with all the other girls you think are good-looking? Let me let you in on a little secret. We don't like to be considered the same as one another. Why can't you just call me Elena? I think you've probably done it maybe twice since we've met. Do you have some type of aversion to my name?" She said turning her face to the side so she could paste her ruby hues on his face; a questioning expression on her own.

Dante laughed idly and shook his head. "Nono, I don't.. I'm just.. a creature of habit is all~" Dante felt that he had done a well enough job, and thus he retreated his hands. "All finished, miss Elena."

Elena sat up stretching her arms high above her head. "Thank you." She said responding to both the use of her name and for the lotion. "You sure you don't need any? Or is that not a problem for devils?" She asked teasingly as she stood up ad looked out at the water; the receding tide alerting her to how much time they really had left. The sun was already halfway on the horizon and the sky was turning a pretty shade of purple.

Elena smiled; she hadn't seen anything so beautiful in a long. Maybe she should suggest to Dante that they take trips out of the mansion more often. It was really doing her some good. Bringing Tseng was an even better idea, he needed a getaway; something to take his mind off things. She would have to remember to suggest that to Tseng too.

Dante let out a small laugh and shook his head. "If you mean are we capable of getting sunburn... then yes, it can happen. But I myself have never had an issue with it. I'm used to the sun... for the most part, anyway." He went on, leaning back and pushing his hands behind him for support, slouching slightly as his feet buried themselves in the sand. He gazed out over the water himself, seeing the waves had considerably calmed down, and the sky was already starting to fade into a sunset. "... hmmm.. nice change of atmosphere in comparison to that shitty old mansion, huh?" he trailed off, looking out into the horizon.

"Yeah. We should do this often. I don't want to lose myself in the mansion again. It's like it takes something away from you, piece by piece." Elena swiped a blonde wisp of hair from her eyes as she watched Dante's expression. She bent down to pick up her juice bottle and took a quick swig before dropping it back in the bag.

"Well come on. Let's go get back in the water before it gets dark and all our fun is ruined." With that Elena pressed her hands against Dante's back, pushing him toward the water. "Just don't be a baby this time. The water's gonna be cold for a little while but it'll warm up soon enough."

Dante let out a rather sarcastic pout. "Oh look whos calling who baby now?" He said as he ambled back towards the water. Oh great, right after he had dried off too. Its definitely gonna be cold this time around.... but oh well, he'd manage. He started to shuffle his way towards the water, but stopped suddenly when something struck him.

A sharp pain, spreading through the bottom of his foot. He hissed and put and hand down to rub it, only to bring a it up covered in blood.

"Ow fuck... what the-" He mused, lifting his foot slightly. "I think I stepped on something..." His foot had slowly begun to heal itself, the skin pulling back together as he lost focus on the newly made wound and reached down for what he had stepped on.

... an orangy-pink star-shaped... rock.. thing? Weird.. it had some suction cups on it... and.. it was moving! What the hell?

"Yo Elena, check this shit out..." He held it up and glanced at the sharp patterns on its back. What an unusual.. thing this was.

"Yes but that is because you were acting like one." Elena stated matter of factly. She was stopped as well, as she was behind Dante, pushing him. She ran dead into his back. Slightly startled she pulled back rubbing the tip of her nose. "What?...oh that's a starfish." She said staring at it, she then refocused her attention back at Dante. "You've never seen one before in your world? Weird." Elena took it from him, placing it back in the sand and hopefully out of harms way. "How's your fo-..wait nevermind." Elena said suddenly remembering about Dante's healing ability.

Elena walked around Dante, leaving him to continue staring at the starfish if he chose to while she entered the water. "Ah. Much better." She said as she relished in the feeling of the cold liquid, the sun had begun to make her sweaty but now all of that was washed away by the salty water. She walked deeper into the water until she was a good ways distance from the shore. "Come on, Dante!"

He looked at it again, holding it up into the light and making sort of an awkward face at it, before shrugging and tossing it back into the water behind him.

"I come from a big city.. there are no beaches." he said as a matter of factly. Really, do you hear people talking about the beaches of New York City? No. No you don't. Thats because there are none. Well, none that people swim off of much, anyway.

His foot was fine. It was almost as if nothing had even happened to it by now as he followed Elena further out, snorting rather teasingly at her. "Careful not to go too far, for I have heard of sharks. Dun want any of them to getcha now, would you?"

"Now why would I be afraid of sharks when I have mister big devil man here to protect me?" Elena said to him as he came closer to him. "I'm sure a Turk like myself could fend off a shark anyway." Though Elena was far from certain of anything of the sort but maybe Dante's cocky was rubbing off just a bit. "Turks are so small ma-" She was forced to pause as something slimy brushed across her foot.

Elena squealed, her earlier words falling to the dust. Jumping toward Dante, she held on to him. "What is that?" As another one brushed across her feet she squealed once more. "Dante, Kill it. Kill it." She cried, though she very well doubted it was a shark, it was impossible to know what it really was, especially with all the mansion's tricks. But the way something stringy brushed against her leg reminded her of an insect and that was just something she didn't mix well with.

The devil held her firmly as his eyes narrowed momentarily. What could it be now..? He wasn't very used to the beach, and has heard many stories about shark attacks and things on TV.. so what the heck was he supposed to expect..?

"I dunno... where did you feel it?" He then looked down at the water awkwardly and saw something weird floating there. He released one hand off of Elena and scooped it up.. it was.. eww... slimy. He laughed however, as he then was able to recognize what it was.

"Its a jellyfish, knucklehead. It won't hurt you bad... I dun think." He saw them on a TV show once.. Some can sting badly, but this one didn't seem to be doing a whole lotta damage to his hand. He tossed it a slight distance away from them and gave Elena a flirtatious wink. "Now... what were you saying? Or are you so cozy there up against my chest that you've forgotten..?" Not that he minded much. He liked her that close to him. He liked it very much.

Elena watched as Dante stared into the water. If only I'd brought my gun. I'd have felt a lot better. Elena thought but soon she would find she wouldn't have needed it as Dante pulled a tiny jellyfish from the water. They weren't even the kind that gave you a bad sting. She had nothing to worry about. I should have known it was just a jellyfish.

"Oh...It's just a jellyfish." Elena mumbled blushing in embarrassment as she got down from Dante's arms. "Nothing..I wasn't saying anything." She said turning away from him and crossing her arms against her chest. She looked around to find the sun once again lower than it was before. Less than half of it was showing now and the sky was turning such a deep purple that it was obvious that it would soon be black. Seeing that her trip to the beach was close to an end, Elena had to pout.

Dante was being very good this whole trip.. very good.. he had only touched her in a naughty area once this whole time! Wouldn't Vergil be proud...

And it had been fun, regardless that there wasn't any sexual activity involved... he actually did enjoy himself... which was surly a nice change of pace from since what... Well.. sine what Walter had done... and those gods.. and their mom... and.. well yeah.

He idly leaned backwards into the water and floated on his back as she moved down from his arms, a little dissapointed in her absence, but hey, whatever made her comfortable. He worked himself into a float.

"I wonder why none of the other mansion goers... well... set up camp and live here.. instead of the house. I mean, some really fucked-up shit happens in there a lot you know.." Really, some really fucked up shit. Dante actually died in there... Died! Him! Dante doesn’t die... he had always thought he couldn’t die. At least, until this little fiasco.

Elena looked back at Dante. "I'm not sure. Maybe someone did try to but the mansion wouldn't allow it? Or maybe they'd rather put up with the mansion and the comforts that come with it instead out here." Dipping one hand in the water Elena moved it back and forth, watching as the water began to follow her example. "We should probably get out soon. If we stay out here much longer we really will freeze."

Oddly, Dante was really more than obliging to getting out of the water. He had gotten used to it now, sure, but his body usually wasn't very tolerant to chilly temperatures... Not that it would ever harm him severely in any way, but if it were to drop anymore, it would be no less than pretty miserable for him.

He waited for her to start to take leave though. "Yeah... Sounds like a good idea." He got up onto his feet and stood, gesturing a hand out towards the beach, mocking a gentleman in some bizarre manner. "Ladies first~"

Elena started for the shore, wondering what was awaiting her in the mansion. Would the President have called for her or maybe there was some new word from Tseng. Was it possible he was hurt? Did one of the remnants or Sephiroth reach him before she did? These were the thoughts on Elena's mind as she stepped on the shore. Vacation time was coming to an end. It time to get back to work, which she miraculously had a lot of even in the mansion.

She pulled on her shirt and pants, even though it was basically futile; the water from her bathing suit and skin soaked through. After pulling her hair away from her eyes with a clip, she picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder. She looked toward Dante to see if he was ready to leave.

It didn't take long for Dante to tag along behind, pulling on his pants and taking hold of his combat boots (which where so uncomfortably filled with sand now... urgh.). He ignored the discomfort of the sand, however, and threw Elena a lazy smirk. "Ready when you are, ba- I mean Elena." Maybe he did learn a thing or two after all.. still though, that didn't hold him back from staring at her ass one last time as she pulled her pants up. Man... would this seriously be the first time he'd actually gone on a date without getting some? Well... even if it were, he felt for some odd reason.. rather satisfied after all of this... Maybe sex wasn't always necessary for a decent date...

As Elena turned around to head back to the mansion another devious thought popped into her mind; it was her second of the day. It was time for a little payback for the little stunt he pulled earlier. Elena smirked and dropped her bag back into the sand.

Turning around and she walked back up to Dante, until her face was inches from his. "So what now? We're just going to go back into the mansion?" She asked, her fingers crawling up his chest in a flirtatious manner. "Because I was thinking.." She stood on the tips of her toes, so her lips were close to touching his. For extra effect she wrapped her arms around his neck, her body pressing against his. "that could go up to my room and.."

It took every ounce of control in her body to keep from laughing. She decided to play with him a bit longer, making him wait on her words; though it wasn't actually needed. Even an idiot could see what she was implying, though it really wasn't that at all. She closed her eyes as if she was about to push her lips against his and then smirked. "and play some cards!" She exclaimed finally releasing her pent up laughter.

Ohhhman.. that most certainly excited him... Dante's face went slightly pink as she had worked her fingers over his chest and pressed her face close.

"I was thinking.... that we could go up to my room and.."

Oh man! He did it.. he was so gonna score tonight... Fucking sweet-

"-Play some cards!"

.... Deal...

...

NOT. Why that little prickly...

Dante heavily frowned, disappointed. "Aww now that was just fuckin mean." He said to her. "-c'mon, even I know you don't off and tease a guy like that without putting out to back it up." He told her factually, placing a hand under her chin.

He'd cut her some slack though. He knew it was partially his fault for being so easy to play.

Still, he wouldn't let her off that easily.

"Well? I've been a good date, haven't I? Have I at least earned a kiss?"

Elena rolled her eyes and then pretended to think on it. "Hm. Well I don't know...there was that whole groping thing that you did earlier in the water." She said but she knew she would allow Dante a kiss, seeing as he was expecting much more. It'd help to get him off her back for awhile. "Fine." She closed her eyes once again.

Okay.. so he had slipped up that ONE time... sheesh. Kill a guy for having hormones, why dontcha.

He smiled lightly though as the hand under Elena's chin moved up towards her cheek- he leaned down and tilted his head; eyes closing... just before pressing his lips softy against hers- and tasting them for the first time.

She had sort a sweet, feminine taste.. and soft, soft lips. Dante stayed enjoyed them for a moment; resisting the urge to push his tongue between them as he the gently pulled away.

".. thank you." He whispered jokingly, but somewhat grateful as well.

She was quite surprised by how gentle Dante was and here she was expecting to be devoured. Elena opened her eyes, ruby hues staring into turquoise ones. She didn't like how the kiss made her feel. Elena was known for being sensitive, her emotions overturned too easily. She tried to write off the sensation as one that came along just because she hadn't had a lover in long time.

Or maybe she was just looking for affection, since she got next to none from Tseng. But for some reason she still wasn't able to look away. Finally the sound of crickets freed her from his spell and she was able to pull her arms away from his neck. "Y-yeah. No problem." Feeling a little shaky Elena reached for her bag once again and started off for the mansion.

He locked gaze with her for a few moments, before she had then spoken... causing him to then follow up with a snarky smile.

"Perhaps next time.. we'll take it a bit farther... wouldn't wanna spoil you now, after all." If there was a next time. Who knows? If Elena had nearly as much fun during this as Dante did, maybe there would be another.

For now though, he was pretty content with their day. Calm, peaceful... and well.. just overall a nice change from what he had gone through over these last few days. He then idly followed her as they had begun to leave.. eager to get home and tell his brother all about his day.

... and maybe stretch the truth... and rub it in his face that he managed to get a woman quicker than he did in this mansion... and yeah, all that good stuff little brothers do to piss their big brothers off.
