boredom's been getting strong
Who: Shaun Mason and YOU.
Where: Mansion and Grounds
When: During the event
Rating: Shaun's language is always PG-13
Summary: Shaun doesn't know why everyone else is acting so weird, because he's just fine.
The Story:
There's nothing obviously different about Shaun--anyone who doesn't know him that well would probably think he's unaffected. It's not like he's making network posts with a pumpkin on his head or anything. Instead he's doing his usual stuff--editing footage at After the End Times, shooting at the range, considering how best to ambush his fellow inmates of Wonderland with glitterpaint...
People who know him well might notice a few details that are a little... off. He's not talking to himself the way he usually does, like he's responding to someone that only he can hear. His coffee consumption has doubled, completely replacing all of the Coke in his diet. He's also considerably more willing to let George out of his sight. He spends hours at a time away from her. It's almost like there's no trauma there at all.
Weird, right?

More specifically, she wakes up on a day that, to her, feels like any other. She knows there's an event coming. There's a reason she's sleeping fully dressed. But it hasn't hit yet, as far as she can tell.
She leans over and presses a kiss to Shaun's cheek. They're still not public with their relationship, even here in Wonderland, since they do have a reputation to maintain. But months of not being caught have made them a lot less careful than they were back home. Acting affectionate in bed is a risk she's okay taking.
"Morning, dumbass."
They have the sweetest pet names.

Not like they could do anything about it from here. She rests her head on his shoulder.
"We're gonna step outside our room and everything's going to be fire. Or zombies. But I guess that would be lucky for some of us, huh?"

"But okay, yes, it would be nice to have some uninterrupted writing time." She shakes her head, too comfortable to really come off as annoyed. "You know, after Yosemite I'd hoped you'd be at least a little zombie'd out, but no. You're just as much of an Irwin as ever."

"...Huh?"
Shaun is extremely eloquent.

"I think we found our event."
She doesn't know what shape it is exactly, still, but clearly it's altering one of their memories, if not both. Fun. She loves when she can't trust her own mind.
