[In inanimate rock form or otherwise, Lapis isn't ready to be found right away. For one thing, she's still generally an outdoors encounter. But on top of that, she catches sight of Bismuth first, from a safe distance, and it takes her a long, long while to decide what to do about it. Exactly how bad her initial reaction was will be left to the imagination.
She doesn't know any bismuths, although she sure has had encounters. But this is Lapis, she'd be hella cautious regardless of any personal experience. Unknown gems showing up in Wonderland does not happen every day, and absolutely has the potential to go very badly. If it were feasible to just avoid the new face forever she still might try that, but alas, even with the new crowds, that's never realistic. No, she needs to know the situation; if this is going to be a problem she needs to find out as early as possible.
Once she's worked up to it, Lapis makes herself known by landing a respectable ways behind Bismuth, wings remaining out thank you. She may or may not actually be as stealthy as all this ideally calls for, but one might as well try for the effect. The tone is blunt and suspicious, but not outright hostile.]
