Here we are as in olden days, happy golden days of yore | OPEN
Who: E V E R Y O N E (Including our 4th wall guests!)
Where: Everywhere, one both Mirror and Real Side!
When: December 12th - December 18th (WEEK ONE)
Rating: PG-13, warn if going higher
Summary: This year's Ewaymas celebration rolls out the way it usually does, with intense decorating, a sudden snowfall and...far more arrivals than usual! New faces and old fill the mansion - but why would Wonderland bring so many people at once? And why do some of them remember Wonderland?
The Story:

On the evening before December 12th, the captives of Wonderland might be awoken by a loud commotion. Some of it is typical Ewaymas noise, likely familiar to anyone who has been in Wonderland for more than a year – construction sounds and jingle bells as Wonderland decks its own halls quite literally. Garland and lights race down the walls and down the stairs, and stockings appear on the walls for each and every person in Wonderland, embroidered with their names. There are decorative candles everywhere, and all sorts of decorations for every conceivable winter holiday, even if it does not align perfectly to the dates of Ewaymas. Time isn't real, so there will be menorahs and dreidels and Star of Davids even though Hanukkah ended two days prior. And of course, in the front hall, growing straight out of the floor, is a large decorated tree full of ornaments for everyone. And as always, it will have snowed heavily overnight, bringing all of the snow Wonderland will have between now and spring.
There is a second source of commotion in the night though – the sound of a crowd.
Over the course of the night, dozens of new arrivals will appear in Wonderland. Some for the first time. Some wondering how they managed to return with their memories. Others stumbling in with no recollection of ever having been here. Some might be friends from other timelines, other possibilities, and some might even be doubles of people who are already in Wonderland. It's strange for Wonderland to drag so many people into the mansion at once, but everything seems to indicate that they are supposed to be there. They have their own network devices and even have their own stockings on the wall and their own ornaments on the tree – by all accounts, it seems Wonderland expects that they'll be staying, and is treating them like any other new arrivals. Please, make them feel at home and help them settle in nicely.
The first few days will be for catching up with old friends and enjoying the decorations and settling into Wonderland. However, within a couple of days the decorations will start to glitch, much the way corrupted computer graphics might. Lights might change abruptly from multi-color to blue or white, entire décor styles will abruptly change, candle flames will flicker on and off like broken fluorescent lights, and any singing decorations might loop on a beat or two over and over putting you into an eternal hell. Wonderland doesn't seem to be able to stick to one motif, and it can't stop changing. These glitches are occurring on both the Real Side of Wonderland and the Mirror Side.
By the 15th, these glitches will include entire rooms changing into different holiday scenes. These scenes will all be of characters at various winter holidays in the past, the present (in their world), or a possible future. At this point in the event, characters will still be able to navigate the basic mansion and be able to exit these moments easily. These scenes cannot be interacted with – Wonderland seems to consider them another form of decorating. Unlike previous events of this type, these scenes will not loop at first. They will play once, and then Wonderland will glitch and correct itself to be the room it is supposed to be. The scene might play again, but it will be in a different location if it does.
By this point, Wonderland is having an increasingly difficult time holding itself together in a way that makes geographical sense. You might exit one room, even a room that was not previously playing a scene, and find yourself in the kitchen or on the roof instead of in the hallway. You might open a door that you were sure led to your room only to see a ten foot drop to the grounds outside.
This is the mingle log for WEEK ONE! For more information on this part of the event or any questions, please head over to the plot post, or check out our Fourth Wall Master Post for your other Fourth Wall event needs! Prose or [action brackets] are welcome. Please clearly indicate whether your character is on the Real Side or Mirror Side in your top levels. And of course, have fun! ♥

Mikasa Ackerman | Attack on Titan | OTA
I. Arrival
[One moment Mikasa was about the face the female titan in Stohess and the next she found herself here. What the hell just happened? Did she just black out for some reason? All she knew was that she was getting tired of this game of cat and mouse with Annie and while Eren and Armin were convinced that they could get Annie to follow them, Mikasa wasn't. She had no faith that Annie would just come quietly. Not if she was really the female titan. Then again, she couldn't really say that she cared much for Annie to begin with.
Either way, waking up in the snow outside was not something she wanted to deal with right now. Shivering from the weather change, she noticed there was a strange device next to her. She'll pick it up, but she didn't bother to figure it out; Not when she was in a new environment and there were no giant walls to be seen anywhere. This was hardly the time and quite frankly, she wasn't convinced that Annie wasn't still around here, just waiting for that moment to catch her off guard.
She'd be fine -- probably -- but Eren and Armin..? She had to find them. Blades out and ready to attack if necessary, she proceeded with caution, taking in her surroundings to figure out just where she was.]
Armin? Eren?! [They've got to be here somewhere, right?]
II. Wait. People give presents?
[So far nothing is looking familiar and what is going on with all of these decorations? What was the purpose of all the bells and why are there so many plants strewn around everywhere? At least her blades were sheathed for the time being while looking around. She stopped once she saw the stockings. They all had names on them. She hadn't seen any of these before, but there's her name on one as well.]
What is the purpose of these giant socks?
[And then she glanced over to the tree filled with ornaments.]
Just what the hell is going on here?
[Her world definitely didn't have any of this and giving to each other would have never happened considering how stingy the military police were with food and everything else. Or that could just be Mikasa assuming that there was nothing good in her world like usual.]
III. Make Your Own Story
[OOC: I'm open for any and all ideas. I'm also a little rusty with Mikasa and I'll have to link icons, but come at me, Eway! If you have any other ideas or questions, you can poke me on plurk (
no subject
[What had captured most of his interest was all the new arrivals. At first he thought it was some kind of hybrid event, and all these people were from one person's world, but that soon proved itself to be untrue. Maybe someone from the Walls would show up? He wasn't particularly hopeful about it, he'd been tempering his expectations ever since Armin and Ryuji left, but then he heard a muffled shout. He turned his head to look outside a nearby window.]
[Oh, hell.]
[Jean didn't bother with finding an actual door. He opened the window and climbed out. It was the first floor, so there wasn't much of a drop, especially with the building snowbank.]
Mikasa! [He yelled to get her attention, and held his hands up in a show of peace-- he had no idea where she was from, or what point in time, so he might be catching her at a particularly stressful moment, and he knew that Mikasa wasn't always the safest to be around when she was desperate.] Stow your blades! There's no threat here!
no subject
[Mikasa was just so confused as to what was going on... Where she was. In a new place she'd never seen, she wasn't willing to let her guard down for a second. There were no walls, but yet there was no sign of titans anywhere. This couldn't be right. Their world basically belonged to titans and they were just cattle for slaughter. How could there not even be one titan here, much less the one who could call more to her? Not that she wanted to face titans, but it didn't add up.
And that was suddenly her name being called. Glancing around, she was hoping that it was either Eren or Armin, but it was not. She was a little disappointed, but honestly? This was somebody that she knew. She could work with this.]
What do you mean there's no threat here? [Point her right blade towards the horizon, but not looking away.] Did you fail to notice that there are no walls up?
[He probably did notice, but it didn't help that frigid response in light of everything happening. And then she finally noticed what he was wearing. What was he wearing exactly? And where was his 3DM Gear?]
What's going on here?
no subject
[He remembered his first day here. It was a long time ago, but it was also enough of a trainwreck that there was no way he could forget it. If she saw the wrong thing now, and attacked someone, he'd feel like it was on his head.]
no subject
[She didn't want to. Not when Annie could pop up whenever and he wasn't armed... But there was something about the way he looked at her. Like... pleading to trust him. She didn't want to do it, but she did trust him so....
With a sigh, she hesitantly sheathed her blades. Crossing her arms into her chest, she gave him a look to explain.]
Talk. Where's Eren and Armin? They were just with me. Why are there no titans around?
no subject
They aren't here. Or more accurately, you aren't there. It's going to take awhile before anything really starts to make sense...
But you're safe here. Right now. I know it doesn't seem like it, but you are.
Years later when I'm not out of town
[She would have no reason to do that... But she wasn't about to drop down all of her walls just yet, even if Jean was here too.]
What do you mean by that? Clearly we're not in Stohess anymore.
You sound like you've been here for a while... [Which is... weird... Because she knows she's seen him recently.]
lol s'ok
[The Survey Corps rarely made their way into Sina. He could only think of a couple of times Team Levi would have been in that area. And Mikasa was concerned about Eren and Armin's safety, so it wasn't a peaceful time for her either...]
You mean when we trapped Annie?
[Gods, that felt like it happened forever ago. Not just in their world, but Jean's added nearly two years to his own timeline.]
no subject
Clearly.
[Part of her wanted to ask if he had a short memory with how he was acting, but part of her could tell there was more to this so she refrained. He was too comfortable here to have just arrived himself....]
no subject
[How to explain? Well, he could catch her up with happenings in their world, and damn would that take a hot minute, but getting her used to her new accommodations would come first.]
Okay. One thing at a time. We're somewhere totally off the map right now. Not in the Walls, or out of the walls, or anywhere in our world. This place is it's own kind of microcosm--
[Wait, that's a word he learned here. No using words he's learned here.]
It's basically like it's own Walls. But there's no Titans. No Titans, no military, no Marley, no nothing. So just take everything you think you know about the world and pitch it in the garbage, because it's not going to help you here.
no subject
[That's.... hard to take in. When you've lived your entire life within walls, just waiting for humanity to slowly wiped out -- may it be from titans or other humans -- it wasn't something that seemed possible. But the hint that he's been here for a while must be pretty spot on if he's saying that.]
I'm behind? What do you mean, I'm "behind"? [No what, no. Just get her adjusted here first. Baby steps.] So where we're from... It doesn't exist here?
[She's just going to sigh in irritation. There was a lot going on here and even if titans weren't here, that leaves her restless with no idea how to deal with what's going on now. At least Annie wasn't here, or she'd assume that Jean would be a lot more worried than he was now.]
no subject
Where I'm from in our world, we caught Annie a long time ago. Not that it did us any good... [He muttered bitterly. Her crystal-bound fate still left a bad taste in his mouth.] No, it doesn't. Just in our memories. Which is it's own kind of danger... But I'll get to that later.
no subject
What do you mean, it didn't do us any good? Are you saying that our efforts were for nothing then?
[Which would align with how things generally went down. That may be the case, but it still rubbed her the wrong way to think about how capturing her wasn't the end. Doesn't that figure, though?]
So what am I supposed to do here then?
no subject
[Yeah, that was the way of things in their world. They were all angry about it, but they accepted it too.]
For now? Chill out. I think something's up right now, so you probably won't be here for very long. It'd be a waste of what this place has to offer, stomping around angry when you could be enjoying a rare break.
no subject
Chill out...
[That... was something that Mikasa was not good at... Not when she was so used to fighting for her life: be it by the hands of a titan or other humans.]
What do you suggest? [Because she has no idea...]
no subject
Well, you could have something to eat. [Everyone does that, even her.] You can have anything you want here. And I totally mean that when I say it. You should think of something you like best.
no subject
[Food was something she didn't think much about; Not when they generally didn't have much to offer. But at the mention, it was like her stomach wanted to remind her that, hey guess what? You haven't ate in a long time with that growl. Putting her hand on her stomach without thinking...]
I'm not really picky. [She couldn't afford to be. Food was food at the end of the day] I guess I should find something to eat..
no subject

['Think back when you were a kid'.. Oof. That was a rabbit hole that Mikasa tried to avoid. Thinking back at her parents just caused pain. For a moment she froze, thinking back to the day that she saw her parents murdered in front of her. How stupid she was not to have run when her mother was fighting for her life so she could get away. How she was caught.... She was too young to know what to do then, but it was the first taste of the real world that she got. The world was just too cruel and not getting any better.
Sorry Jean, but it'll take her a moment to snap back out of it, her expression turning from the realization that she was hungry to a sort of sullen expression; that was, if he could distinguish that from her normal mood. Inadvertently tugging at her scarf, she let out a small sigh.]
I didn't say you weren't. I just don't really remember the kind of food my mom used to make. Bread is fine.
no subject
No no no. [He shook his head, almost vehemently.] Not just bread. I won't allow it. You've at least got to have some meat here. They've got all the best cuts, perfectly cooked. Sasha would eat herself to death here.
no subject
[Which was all fine and dandy. She really wasn't in the mood to
evertalk about it. Pushing it out of her mind, much like she usually did for a lot of things, she'll pick up her pace.]Well then, surprise me then.
[She really had no preferences and if Jean insisted she ate something besides bread, he could pick for her.]
no subject
[Don't worry, Jean won't subject her to anything too weird. Yet.]
[Inside, the Mansion was cozy and plush. The temperature was perfect and the furnishings were far nicer than anything in their world-- at least inside the Walls. The wallpaper was ornate and color, and the carpeting soft.]
no subject
[She hoped he wouldn't subject her to anything weird like that, but she'll just have to blindly trust him that he wouldn't on this one.
But examining the interior was something she wasn't used to. It was almost as if they were inside of Wall Sina, with their nice houses and cushy living. This was an alternative world they were in, after all; so it made no sense to question it.]
Looks like you've had it pretty good here.
[as far as living situation goes. Not so much what happens here, but she didn't know that much just yet. She can just imagine it's not as safe as it seems here.... Or maybe that was just Mikasa being cautious about everything?]
no subject
[It's about as safe as it seems. Sometimes the situation can get dire during events, but even those a few and far between.]
[Jean leads her straight into the kitchen, since that where most of the action happens around here anyways. He motions her to sit down where-ever she'd like while he rustles up the sort of sandwich he likes to eat on a somewhat regular basis. The bread is really good and soft, and there's meat and cheese and condiments and everything!]
Here. And this is pretty simple by Mansion standards.
no subject
[Following him to the kitchen, she took a seat upon being prompted, letting him make whatever he wanted her to try. The fact that this even had meat was a surprise on it's own, but again... Alternative world.
Taking the sandwich once it was offered, she gave it a try. It was soft bread and it was pretty good over all. She was used to a harder bread, so it was different than what she was used to.]
It's good. [Simple response.] Do you eat stuff like this normally here?
(no subject)
