Here we are as in olden days, happy golden days of yore | OPEN
Who: E V E R Y O N E (Including our 4th wall guests!)
Where: Everywhere, one both Mirror and Real Side!
When: December 12th - December 18th (WEEK ONE)
Rating: PG-13, warn if going higher
Summary: This year's Ewaymas celebration rolls out the way it usually does, with intense decorating, a sudden snowfall and...far more arrivals than usual! New faces and old fill the mansion - but why would Wonderland bring so many people at once? And why do some of them remember Wonderland?
The Story:

On the evening before December 12th, the captives of Wonderland might be awoken by a loud commotion. Some of it is typical Ewaymas noise, likely familiar to anyone who has been in Wonderland for more than a year – construction sounds and jingle bells as Wonderland decks its own halls quite literally. Garland and lights race down the walls and down the stairs, and stockings appear on the walls for each and every person in Wonderland, embroidered with their names. There are decorative candles everywhere, and all sorts of decorations for every conceivable winter holiday, even if it does not align perfectly to the dates of Ewaymas. Time isn't real, so there will be menorahs and dreidels and Star of Davids even though Hanukkah ended two days prior. And of course, in the front hall, growing straight out of the floor, is a large decorated tree full of ornaments for everyone. And as always, it will have snowed heavily overnight, bringing all of the snow Wonderland will have between now and spring.
There is a second source of commotion in the night though – the sound of a crowd.
Over the course of the night, dozens of new arrivals will appear in Wonderland. Some for the first time. Some wondering how they managed to return with their memories. Others stumbling in with no recollection of ever having been here. Some might be friends from other timelines, other possibilities, and some might even be doubles of people who are already in Wonderland. It's strange for Wonderland to drag so many people into the mansion at once, but everything seems to indicate that they are supposed to be there. They have their own network devices and even have their own stockings on the wall and their own ornaments on the tree – by all accounts, it seems Wonderland expects that they'll be staying, and is treating them like any other new arrivals. Please, make them feel at home and help them settle in nicely.
The first few days will be for catching up with old friends and enjoying the decorations and settling into Wonderland. However, within a couple of days the decorations will start to glitch, much the way corrupted computer graphics might. Lights might change abruptly from multi-color to blue or white, entire décor styles will abruptly change, candle flames will flicker on and off like broken fluorescent lights, and any singing decorations might loop on a beat or two over and over putting you into an eternal hell. Wonderland doesn't seem to be able to stick to one motif, and it can't stop changing. These glitches are occurring on both the Real Side of Wonderland and the Mirror Side.
By the 15th, these glitches will include entire rooms changing into different holiday scenes. These scenes will all be of characters at various winter holidays in the past, the present (in their world), or a possible future. At this point in the event, characters will still be able to navigate the basic mansion and be able to exit these moments easily. These scenes cannot be interacted with – Wonderland seems to consider them another form of decorating. Unlike previous events of this type, these scenes will not loop at first. They will play once, and then Wonderland will glitch and correct itself to be the room it is supposed to be. The scene might play again, but it will be in a different location if it does.
By this point, Wonderland is having an increasingly difficult time holding itself together in a way that makes geographical sense. You might exit one room, even a room that was not previously playing a scene, and find yourself in the kitchen or on the roof instead of in the hallway. You might open a door that you were sure led to your room only to see a ten foot drop to the grounds outside.
This is the mingle log for WEEK ONE! For more information on this part of the event or any questions, please head over to the plot post, or check out our Fourth Wall Master Post for your other Fourth Wall event needs! Prose or [action brackets] are welcome. Please clearly indicate whether your character is on the Real Side or Mirror Side in your top levels. And of course, have fun! ♥

"Holy wedding bells. Jemma?" How are all of his friends getting married?!
no subject
Definitely a rift, so he must be here to terrify her in some way, except he doesn’t look the least bit frightening.
“I’m sorry, but have we met?”
no subject
"Anyway. Uh--" he offers a hand for a delayed shake and introduction. "I'm Cisco."
no subject
This is not the weirdest place she’s ever been.
“So like a time loop, people at the beginning don’t know who’ve they’ve interacted with at the end.” She’s trying to come up with some a comparison that makes sense.
Oh yes, manners, as she takes his hand, “Jemma Simmons,” awkward. “But you already know that.”
no subject
"Kind of," he nods a little. It's not the worst comparison to be made, that's for sure. "How much about the idea of a multiverse makes sense to you?" Not in the science way. He has no doubt she understands the theory, but it's always a little world-rocking to consider it in practice.
no subject
She trails off, because she knows she's about to babble about being transported across the universe in seconds, and by essentially, a big rock.
"I'm trying to say I understand it." She looks a little sheepish.
"
no subject
"Maveth?" He probably said that wrong. Oh, well. "I'll admit, I haven't heard of that one, but okay, sure." He nods and shrugs, sweeping one hand out in what is apparently supposed to be a gesture of acceptance. "It became less of a theory and more of a proven thing back on my Earth when a singularity got opened and opened breaches to at least fifty-two other versions of Earth."
See? You're in good, rambling company, Jemma.
no subject
"It's a planet, one that used to be inhabited but is now a wasteland. I wound up there for the better part of half a year." He doesn't need to know the exact number of hours, does he?
"Fifty-two other Earths? Did you make a study of any of them, learn the differences between them?"
Nothing can ease the stress of being a new place than talking scientific theories or studies, can it?
no subject
"I've been to a couple of them. Earth-2 is the most like mine, with some definite differences. They're a little more technologically advanced, but otherewise, it's kind of creepy similar sometimes." He nods a bit. Harry would be thrilled with that description, he's sure. "Evil dudes keep trying to take over the multiverse, it's kind of a problem." He frowns a little, one hand resting on his hip.
no subject
How does someone she doesn’t know know who Fitz is, unless, “He’s been here, hasn’t he? Fitz has been here!”
She wants to ask about the technological differences. She wants to ask what similarities make it creepy, but if Fitz has been here, she can’t think about much else.
no subject
"Uh-- yeah. Yeah, he was here the last time I was. We were friends-- it's how I knew you." All the other things can wait, there will be plenty of time, or if there isn't, they won't be here long enough to be concerned about it later. Either way-- it could wait. "I have no idea if he's still here or not, though, just...f-y-i. It's been awhile since I've been here, so..." He isn't trying to crash her hopes, here, he just kind of wants to keep them a little grounded in reality.
no subject
“I can see he’d like you. He’d probably ask you to work with him on some project of another.” If he could scientifically explain how she was here, rather than at her wedding, he’d be the type to catch Fitz’s attention. Fitz was always drawn to like-minded people. Mac worked with the tech in the garage and on the bus, Jemma, she was all science allthe time. Daisy — they could share computers and he could geek out over old tech with Coulson. Only Ward was different, and look how that turned out.
“I understand what you mean,” Jemma can’t imagine Fitz being willing to stay here, particularly if she wasn’t, but she doesn’t know all of the circumstances. “I’ll see if he’s here. I need my groom after all.” There’s a nervous giggle as she gestures to her dress.
no subject
"There's...no real choice in being here, unfortunately." he admits. "It's kind of the way Wonderland works. We're kind of at it's whim." Any other universe? He'd breach himself home in an instant, but here? It doesn't work out so well. "That, is completely true," he says, giving her a pleased grin at that. "Everybody's getting married lately." he muses, gesturing at the tux he's in. "I was at a wedding, too." A beat. "Not mine, but my best friend's." How unfortunate the ceremony was ruined by Nazi's.
no subject
“So there’s no portal that opens On rare occasions?” Even Maveth had that. “But you said you’d left, so how did you manage that?” If Fitz isn’t here, she’ll be desperate to get back home to him.
Jemma shrugs her shoulders, a little embarrassed. Her ceremony was a bit of a rush job, but it was going to be perfect to her. She even knew what she was going to say in her vows, preparation and all.
“They must be worried sick.” The poor best friend.
no subject
He smiles a little at her expression of concern. "Luckily, time sort of...pauses? When we leave home and come here. Whenever you go home, it'll be like you were never gone." A soft sigh, "And you won't remember being here at all."
