Who: Drizella Tremaine/Freya Mikaelson + Regina Mills, Leopold Fitz, Natasha Romanoff, Klaus Mikaelson, probably some other people. It's a party!
Where: Various places in the mansion/love hotel
When: Last week of January through the event.

Summary: Drizella is trying to help Fitz out. Whether she is on the right path or not remains to be seen.
The Story:

[Drizella makes her way in, and places the thorn bracelets down on a table in front of them. She knows this is going to be a big ask, and she could still screw it up, but she's hoping that Regina will see the benefits in it.]

These are what Gothel used to steal my magic. I just got them from the vendors, and they still have my magic in them, but ... I need someone with magic to activate them.

[And she'll just let that sit, prepared to make whatever bargain's needed to get Regina's help.]

[Whatever the favour Regina might have been expecting, it wasn't this. It's easy to see why Drizella came to her, but. Hm. Picking up one of the bracelets, she gives it a look over.]

... Alright, let's talk. You want your magic back? Convince me.

You know as well as I do that Wonderland isn't exactly the safest place. I'd rather not play around with the five death rule, and while I know it doesn't mean that my magic will work for every event, it'll at least up my odds a little.

[And she misses it. She misses feeling whole, even though she knows she shouldn't put that kind of stock in magic because that's what got her down this rabbit hole in the first place, but part of her wants to learn how to use it properly.]

And I have this friend, I want to try and help. I've tried doing it the normal way, but ... it's a magic problem, I need a magic solution.

[The argument she gets first is the argument she expected - it's a sound one, after all. Regina would be close to hitting her fifth death without her magic.]

You have a friend. [Definite disbelief there.] Besides the point. I'm sure you understand why you having a magic problem gives me pause. But let's say I trust you and help. What happens after that?

Believe it or not, I do have those sometimes.

[But that's about all she's going to elaborate on in terms of who.]

I do a locater spell to find out if he's right or just ... trying to make sense out of something that's nonsensical. And then once that's done, I try and see if I can really do this.

[Because it's one thing if she's good without any kind of temptation. It's another to really put it to the test. Someone else would probably say that wanting to get the magic back is probably a step towards failure in the first place because magic is what got her into this mess, but she doesn't think so. Her magic was always there, even before Ana died.]

And you can keep those.

[She gestures to the bracelets.]

If you think I'm starting to go off the rails, you can take the magic back.

[Regina wisely chooses to let that one go, because they could be here for hours.

So she listens, really listens to what Drizella plans to do and honestly, her mind is made up then. If it backfires, it backfires and she can deal with it. With everything she's collected and hidden away, she has the upper hand.

Should she give Drizella a chance? Probably not. But they probably shouldn't have given her a chance, either.]

The second I get even an idea you're going off the rails, your magic is gone.

[Overdramatic just a tad, but it's who she is.]

Are you sure you can handle it?

[And Drizella expects nothing less than overdramatic, honestly.

But at her second question, she honestly doesn't have a solid answer to that.]

I don't know. But I feel like it's the kind of thing where I'm never going to know until I try.

If you'd said you could handle it, I wouldn't have helped you.

[Secret tests are just a fairy tale thing, she couldn't resist.]

It's good that you're unsure. It means you'll be cautious.

[At least she's passing this test correctly! She relaxes and nods.]

I will. I don't want to screw this up.

[Regina pauses for a moment before speaking again.]

I don't think you will.

[She grabs the bracelets and passes them to Drizella before the words can sink in.]

Time to get started.

[The bracelets slide over her wrists and something flutters in her chest, something that might almost be considered hope if she thought she had any left. She lets them settle for a moment, before taking a deep breath and holding out her hands to Regina so they can get started.]

Ready when you are.

[Regina takes one last look at Drizella, as if appraising if she's truly ready and then takes her hands. Closing her eyes, she focuses on the bracelets - on releasing the seal and letting the magic flow back into its rightful owner.]

[It's been so long since Drizella's had her full magic, since before the curse, and when she feels it rush back part of her almost wants to cry. She's missed that tingle in her fingers so much, and it's nice to feel like herself again.

She looks up at Regina, her eyes a bit cloudy as she tries not to be too emotional about it.]

Thank you, Regina.

[Is there doubt in Regina's heart about doing this? Of course there is. Drizella is truly a force to be reckoned with, even if she finds herself easily manipulated.

They've both been there.]

You're welcome. [A small smile.] Before you go, I want to test you. Make sure everything's working and Wonderland hasn't interfered.

[The vendors are trustworthy in as much as they can be, but you never know with Wonderland.]

[Drizella nods, because makes sense, and she ponders for a moment, before looking around the room to see what's there. She sets her sights on a book somewhere on the other side of the room, and quietly teleports it to her hands in a puff of purple smoke.]

Seems like it's in working order?

[Regina nods, mostly satisfied.]

One last test.

[A flick of the wrist and Drizella is poofed to the roof - the intention to test her own teleporting abilities.]

[If Regina isn't with her she's going to miss the undignified sound of surprise Drizella makes when she lands on the roof. Her arms windmill for a moment, and then she huffs, before waving a hand and letting the familiar smoke swirl around her.

Soon, she reappears in Regina's room, dusting off her hands as she does.]

Looks like test passed.

[Unfortunately, Regina doesn't go with her. Instead, she waits in her room to make sure Drizella makes it back - one way or another.]

Congratulations. [A beat.] I'm going to take a chance and leave the bracelets with you.

[And there's the last thing she expected.]

Why?

[Does the trust terrify her a little bit? Yeah, you could say that.]

Because if I have them, you'll always have the fear of it being taken away to keep you on the straight and narrow.

[A good enough reason, she supposes, but it's not really.... enough.]

But if you don't? It's all up to you.

[Yeah, that explanation doesn't really make her feel better.]

And you trust me enough to do that?

Not entirely.

[There's no point in lying, not here.]

But I've seen enough to know what risks are worth taking.

[Drizella wouldn't feel great about this situation if Regina had told her that she did, to be honest, so it's probably for the best.]

So it's another test. Just ... a way longer one.

That's the thing about trying to be better.

[She's not saying this to gloat, or to discourage Drizella. It's nothing like that.]

The tests never quite end.

Oh goodie.

[She doesn't sound resentful of that, but just ... tired.]

There were a lot of tests on the other side too. Here I thought I might get out of some of those.
