+ Chalk it to me! - Mingle Log +
Who: EVERYONE!
Where: Anywhere outside on Real Side, but mostly in the gardens!
When: 3/14-3/20
Rating: PG, warn if going higher than PG-13
Summary: Alice has invited everyone, Reals and Mirrors alike, to come color outside in the nice spring weather with magic chalk. Surely nothing could go wrong with that plan, right?
The Story:
Outside, the weather is absolutely beautiful. It's not too hot, but not too cold either, and no one would have ever realized there was snow on the ground yesterday if they hadn't been here to see it. The grass is green and everything is dry - no sign of melted snow anywhere at all. Flowers have begun to bloom and it truly looks as though it's been spring for some time already. The season has changed abruptly and now Wonderland's decided it's time for it to be nice out.
There are many paths through the gardens, the vendors, and the hedge maze that can be drawn on, but as Alice demonstrated in her post, there's no need at all to stick to pavement only. Even the air can be decorated with living drawings!
This is a log for people who want to come color outside or people who want to check out what others are doing out here. It isn't strictly to interact with Alice, but she'll be around and will have a top level.

Misty watches him, considering what he's talking about. "I... I wouldn't know," she admits. "We don't have events on the other side of the mirrors," she says in a low voice.
no subject
He glances up when she hesitates and gives that response. "Oh." He keeps running into mirrors today. Kinda weird. But at least they've been decent ones? "Well, it must be nice to be able to be on this side, for you, then, yeah?"
no subject
She smiles at that, nodding. "I don't mind being over there. It's not much different than things were before. A giant place with too many rooms with some people that are good to us and others that aren't."
no subject
"Yeah, that makes sense. I guess that's just kinda... the multiverse over, though. Good and bad everywhere you go, right?" He sits down and lets the frog dance across his fingers and watches her drawing some more. "Oh my god, they're so tiny." He sounds entirely pleased by that fact.
no subject
"You deal with all of this before Wonderland? We never did. Me and my Real? It was never like this. I like it I like being surrounded by magic."
Grinning at his reaction, liking it as she holds out her hand. "I'm Misty."
no subject
As if to accentuate the point, he grabs a piece of pink chalk and draws a heart, but shades it just so, so that it looks more like a bubble and watches as it floats up off the ground and into the air.
"Not quite. There's a lot of decidedly weird stuff going on at home, but no magic to speak of." He smiles and dusts his hand on his jeans, shaking her hand. "Cisco."
no subject
"What kind of weird things? Would you tell me about them?"
no subject
"There was an accident at a science lab a few years ago that created superpowers in a lot of people that were in the blast radius of the explosion." That was the easiest summary of it, at least. "My friends and I kind of... try to keep the chaos in the city at bat."
no subject
She stops drawing though, looking up at him curiously. "Do you have superpowers then?"
no subject
no subject
"How? Tell me how it works? PLease?" It's exciting and new and she wants to hear it all.

Her eyes light up, drawing her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them, watching him eagerly.

It's almost like stepping through a wall of water, except nobody actually gets wet. When they walk through the other side, they're on the roof of the mansion, a safe distance away from the edge to avoid any mishaps, but a perfect spot to perch and see everything on the grounds of the mansion below. "What d'ya think?" He asks, turning his attention toward Misty again, and with his hand dropped back down to his side, the breach closes with a soft whoosh.
no subject
Mesmerized by the change, staring at it with her jaw hanging a bit open. It's nothing like any magic she's ever seen. Laughing as she hurries to follow him, taking his hand as he guides her through the portal.
Still laughing when they emerge on the other side though it ends with a gasp, stunned. "OH. Oh. Whoa. That's amazing." Glancing back at the breach, reaching out to where it was and feeling nothing. "How though... How far can you use those back home?"
no subject
"Pretty far. I can go pretty much anywhere in the world... and I've used it to go other worlds, too. Like--" He waves one hand as he talks. "My world, back home, has sort of proven the existence of multiple realities. Each one has a different frequency and if I can find the frequency for a version of Earth, then I can travel to it." He's become so used to it that it's kind of wild to explain to someone who isn't.
no subject
"How did you find out about those," she wonders, turning back to him. "The other worlds? How could you know they were there? Are they like this world, the Real, and us mirrors?"
It makes sense when she thinks about it like that.

And she knew it wasn't a good thing, and she is hurt by all that she's lacked, and now still doesn't have except for moments like this.

This she can talk about much more matter of factly. "But not like other ghosts, someone told me. Because I can touch people when I want to."
