+ It's All About Balance +
Who: Everyone!
Where: Mansion + Grounds
When: May 11-14
Rating: Will likely have violence and death; use content warnings at your discretion.
Summary: Someone or something is looking for Infinity Stones in Wonderland.
The Story:
This will be your main log for fighting aliens, reacting to the Snap, and any fall out. The top level for days 1 & 2 are up now, and the top levels for the Snap and the aftermath will go up late on the 12th. Hopefully, the reason for this will make sense once they’re posted!
Feel free to refer to the plotting post for more details!

But then the aliens landed and being a little higher up with so many people defending below, they thought it might be smarter to stay where they were. After messaging her mother, she watches the chaos from the window in Luke's room, covering her mouth with one hand.
She'd left, eventually, late in the second day, when it seemed like she might be able to make it to the ballroom. Both Brianna and Luke run but in the chaos, get separated. She's saved by Hawke only for the snap to happen and Brianna fades to dust along with all of the aliens and a few other residents. She has no idea that Luke saw the whole thing.
At midnight, when the event ends, Bree comes back in Luke's bed--the last bed she was on as they debated 60s music. Her eyes are still closed, but she's breathing and whole. ]

But none of them have been like Brianna; there's just something so easy about talking to her, getting to know her. The connection felt almost instant, and he seeks out her company as often as he can.
When the shit truly hits the fan, he's grateful they're together where he can watch over her, make sure she's okay. Even as they run, though, he keeps his eyes on her until he can't anymore, until she's lost to him.
Fuck. No, no, no, no, no. Not another person. Not someone else he...cares about. He can't lose anyone else. He yells for her, even knowing it's futile, that she's dust and memories now. How the hell did this happen, how did he let this happen? Was there a way to protect her, could he have stopped this somehow?
He's alone with those tumultuous thoughts when he finally makes his way back to his room. Silent tears fill his eyes but don't fall, and he sends out unanswered pleas to the dark silence around him to just bring her back, to please bring her back because he'll do anything it takes to make her whole again.
Only a short while later, he can't believe it when he looks over to find Brianna right there again. For a moment, he just stares, slack-jawed, eyes raking over her face. With a shaky hand as he props up on his elbow, Luke reaches out to brush a few amber curls away from her eyes. When he speaks, his voice is barely above a whisper, almost afraid to shatter the illusion. ]
...Brianna?

Did I fall asleep?

No, you...you went away.

I think...I could feel it.
[ She shakes a little looking up at him. ]
I think I died.

You just... [ It was awful. She was gone, dead, but now she's here. ] You turned into dust.

Closing her eyes tightly, she presses her face to his neck. She doesn't even say anything; she doesn't know what to say as she tries to process it. ]

You're safe now. I promise you're safe.

Were you hurt? Are--I lost you, I couldn't see you anymore.
[ After everything that happened with Roger at the Scottish festival, she never thought she would care like this about someone again. But somehow, even with the things still unspoken about their lives at home, she feels completely drawn to him. She's never known if that was real or if she was being naive, again.
Now, with the way he holds onto her, she knows she believes him. Trusts him. ]
