[ But that's all she gets out. It wasn't necessarily going to be that she needed Hawke to tell her mother. She wanted him to tell her not to worry, that she'd be back, Bree doesn't get the chance. In just a few short seconds, she's dust. ]

[He's trying to keep her calm, hoping that might help her stay together but nothing does and he can feel his magic having nowhere to go besides back into himself.
And then Bree slips through his fingers. Quite literally, and Hawke drops to his knees. A choked sound escapes him as all the air rushes out of his lungs. A few moments pass as he tries to process what just happened, tries to wait it out and see if it's going to happen to him.
When it doesn't, he pulls out his device and contacts Claire.]
