Who: Namikaze Minato and Uchiha Sasuke
Where Minato's room, Floor 6 room 666
When: August 26ish
Rating: G
Summary: After talking with Minato over journals, Sasuke goes to his room to continue the conversation.
the Story:
Sasuke slowly clicked off the computer and stood, still not completely sure what to think. The initial shock of meeting with the Yondaime, a legendary figure, and then finding out about his former teammate's heritage hadn't even begun to wear off. Even so, the Uchiha was not the type of person to let surprise or disbelief affect him, at least not in any obvious way. Shaking his head, he left his room and made the short journey down the hall to room 666. He wasn't sure why he was getting involved, he didn't have strong ties to Konoha or the Yondaime, but it still felt like it was his duty.
Hesitantly, Sasuke knocked on the door
"Stop spitting sparks at me, you foul contraption! How was I supposed to know you were so fragile!"
This was heard, along with what sounded like a chair falling over, as Minato stumbled over to his door and tugged it open. He'd been expecting to see the boy named Ichigo - his things had seemed to appear hear not long after the teen accepted his offer to share his room. But there was the rather familiar (if older) face of Uchiha Sasuke.
"Uchiha-kun? Sorry about those last few comments being so... Illegible. Stupid contraption..."
That said, the older man hesitantly opened his door, revealing a chair that had fallen away from his desk and his laptop... The keyboard seemed to be mangled - but there was no way to tell how it had happened... And the machine was spitting sparks. Obviously, Minato had not realized that the technology was so fragile.
"It's fine." Sasuke peered around the Yondaime into the room, taking in the spark-spewing keyboard and toppled chair. He resisted the urge to make a snide comment, reminding himself that although they were physically similar he was speaking with the Yondaime, not Naruto.
“Someone can probably fix it...”
"I hope so. And if not, I hope I can get a new one," Minato said lightly, stretching a little. His muscles were stiff... But now that he had the chance... He glanced at Sasuke. The kid really had grown up into a fine teenager, and from the looks of his build he would be an excellent ninja as well...
"Yeah." Sasuke shifted uncomfortably in the doorway. He had no idea what to say to this man. Even under normal conditions he wasn't good at idle conversation. The silence continued while he debated what to say next.
"So... You said you're on a team with my son? How's he grown up over the years?" Minato asked lightly, breaking the silence for Sasuke. He was interested in getting to know more about Naruto. (He hoped the boy didn't hate ramen. That would be horrible.)
"I was on a team with him." Sasuke stepped into the room, righted the tipped over chair and sat down. "And I guess...he's grown up fine." He absently cracked his knuckles. "What, specifically, do you want to know?"
"Anything you know. He's my son and I'm just now going to get to meet him, after nearly 16 years," Minato said lightly, moving to sit down on his bed.
With a slight frown, Sasuke continued. "He's...enthusiastic I guess. Maybe lucky, too. Things work out in his favor...he wants to become Hokage. When we were
"He wants to be Hokage? Do you know why?" Minato asked lightly, giving a carefree grin and flopping back on the bed.
Sasuke shrugged. "He wants to be good at something, have people notice him."
"It's nice to hear he has a dream. Without a dream, it's hard to accomplish some things," Minato said lightly, grinning over at Sasuke.
The teen let out a noncommittal grunt and leaned back slightly in the chair. "Anything else?"
"Nothing I can think of," Minato said lightly, shrugging and idly watching Sasuke.
"I guess I'll go then..." Sasuke said, pushing himself up. "Sakura Haruno was on the team with us also, you could ask her if you want to know anything else."
"She's here as well, then?" Minato asked lightly, glancing curiously at Sasuke.
He nodded. "I don't know her room number, but Naruto would."
"all right. I'll ask him when I get to see him. It was nice seeing you, Uchiha-kun," Minato said lightly, waving at Sasuke lightly.
“Yeah." Sasuke gave a short nod and turned to leave, pausing before the door. "He likes ramen. If you buy him some, he'll pretty much do anything." He glanced back over his shoulder. "If you want to make a good impression, that's the way to do it."
