Here, show me yours first since you already took it out.

[Instead of just showing it to her, of course he'll do a performance of it! He clears his throat as he prepares to read the entire poem aloud. He goes through all of The Fruit of Loneliness, and sure enough, he ends up in tears and just barely manages to finish the last few lines.]
"...For I cannot live without you... m-my friend!!"

But alas, it's too late once he's reading. So she just sits through it. And once he's done, she reaches out very awkwardly to just.. lightly pat him on the shoulder.. There, there, Ishimaru.
(Quickly pulling her hand back after that though.) ]
.. Sounds like it's mostly about being away from a friend, right?

Hmmm... Yes! That certainly seems to be what the poem is all about! Perhaps that is why it resonates so deeply with my soul... I am not sure yet how this could connect to Wonderland, but I am sure that this is a step forward! Now how about your own poem, Ushiromiya-kun?

Here. Read it.

[Of course he'll read this one aloud too! But when it comes to the f-bomb, he'll pause for a moment and then just say "Word Redacted" instead. He's not fond of swearing, after all, especially in front of a lady!
Once he's done, he sets the poem down with a thoughtful frown.]
Such a somber poem! [At least it didn't bring him to tears, although the last line left a weight in his heart.] It seemed to be speaking of death, and of the state of preferring to not be dead. I find that notion to be agreeable!

Ange grabs the paper back. ]
That's why I'm pretty sure these poems are talking about something personal rather than something about this place. You're really into the whole friendship deal, right? [ UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR.. Also, yes, she's making it sound like she has no involvement with this particular f-word despite having called him a friend, sue her. ] And I'm dead.

[But, well, he winces at that little reminder of Ange's. He was originally told that so long ago, that he wants to forget that she ever said it. But here it is again, and he blinks back tears in response.]
Ack! Y-you... you have told me such a thing in the past. But you are alive and well here and now, in the present. A-and who knows, maybe you are mistaken about your current status in your home world!

[ It doesn't sound like she's saying that with doubt in her voice, but that's more just since she's really good at keeping an even tone by now.. Ange is 100% sure that she's dead, and is actually kind of okay with that.
But she knows that saying that out loud is going to make him freak out for sure, so she doesn't say it. ]
I'm just saying it's kind of what the poem is pointing at, you know? Maybe they're all just talking about stuff related to us.
no subject
Ah... Yes, I suppose that you make a good point! The poems seem to have been personally chosen for us. I would have to check the poems of others to make sure, but thus far, that sounds like a valid conclusion! Hm... But that makes it quite troublesome that the poems do not seem to contain any clues that we could use...

[ Not a whole lot, but at least it's something. ]
Maybe there will be something in the last one that'd make some sense out of all of this.
