Ange is glad that she has control over where the stakes go flying, considering she wouldn't want one to accidentally drive itself into Steven now he's so close to the witch's familiars. It'd be terribly ironic if she killed him right after fussing about him potentially being killed by a witch for being too softhearted..

But since she's making sure they don't fly too close to Steven, it's all going fine. Most of the creatures are going down through their combined efforts.
