[Ongoing] Calling Dr Tam?
Who: Haruhi Fujioka and Simon Tam
Where: Simon's room (Floor 4 Room 1)
When: Today (September 1)
Rating: Pgish, I guess. Simon may swear and ... I don't know
Summary: Simon's looking for answers, Haruhi's got them in spades. So he invited her to his room in order to get down to the bottom of the matter.
Another new person who had no idea what was going on. Haruhi felt like the welcoming committee to hell at this point; though she never seemed to end up getting to know them. That bothered her a little. That Sirius person had never said much after she had given him the information that he wanted.
Letting out a heavy sigh she made her way up the flights of stairs that led their way to the room Simon Tam had given her. It was nice to be out of her room and away from Tamaki. She had no issues with being around him, in fact, she felt almost obligated to be so after what had happened last. Still, she wanted to make the most of this place. It was something new, something that she couldn't change, and if she couldn't move towards her goal she would learn as much about these other world people as she could.
Once she arrived at the door she knocked quietly. Wasn't this person taking care of someone?

She was younger than he expected, perhaps even younger than his sister. The doctor wasn't about to hold that against her and he offered his hand, leaning on the crutches he had found.
"Come in," he said with a smile. "My name is Simon, by the way, it's nice to meet you."

She offered up a small smile, still unsure as to how familiar she ought to be with the man. In truth, she treated everyone here as if she were still in school working in the host club; never becoming too attached to anyone. She glanced at the crutches, wondering if that had been the handiwork of one of the guests of the mansion. It seemed they'd turned bit of a violent streak recently. “Did that happen here?”

"Make yourself comfortable, Haruhi," He said. Simon was only trying to be polite, being too familiar did not occur to him. Besides, he tried not to give out his full name too often, out of habit. "I'm sorry I don't have anything to eat or drink that I could offer...
Oh, this?" He indicated the lame leg. "No, actually, this happened shortly before I arrived here."

“Actually all you have to do is want something and you'll be able to get it.” Or you could go down to the kitchen and get something; it all depended on what level of interaction you wanted to have with the others that were stuck here. “But you had some questions.” She changed the topic, going right to the point of things. “I'm probably the best person to talk to about wonderland. The residents won't tell you anything helpful.”

"It just appears, correct? That sort of explains the medicine and crutches, as well as the extra bed," he pondered aloud. The idea of things just...appearing out of thin air was a little discomforting, but if a sensible seeming girl like Haruhi was able to accept it he supposed he could as well. He had seen some pretty incredible things already, 'magic'...he wouldn't ask Haruhi to explain that. Maybe, if he 'wanted' it enough, a solution for Harry's eye-problem would present itself.
"I do have one pressing question," he said. "I was told that people don't really die here...or they die and come back to life, or something like that. How is that even possible...?"
(OOC: I apologise for the delays.)

She leaned back, thinking a bit more before finishing with her own speculation. “It could be because they have nowhere else to go. The mansion is ... well, I guess you could call it the start of everything. We're just here because it got lonely.”
[OOC: No problem.]

"'It'," he said. "You mean the mansion is alive in some sense..."

She hadn't realized she'd pushed herself into her own thoughts instead of finishing what she had been saying to Simon. “Oh, so, I guess it really is. Well, it's alive at any rate. The more people it brings here the larger it grows.”

"I see...古怪," he said as he rubbed his fingers across his temple. "I have just one more question, I think. I've heard some people on the network talking about events...?"
no subject
This was awkward. It was honestly easier to live though an event then to explain it. She scratched the back of her head lightly as she thought about how to phrase things. “The Duchess says something pretty weird, then a few days later something happens that effects everyone. I'm pretty sure that it comes from someone in the mansion's heart of head.” Maybe an example would do better then an explanation. “One time the whole mansion had noises as if there was a war going on, but there wasn't. As far as I could figure it out it was someone in the mansion's life experience. Though ....the shrinking event was pretty weird.”

"So, just to be sure I'm understanding this correctly," he began. "The mansion takes things from the residents. Energy or something similar, and at random intervals the mansion uses this energy to change itself somehow... And the effects are temporary?"
This, on top of an already unstable population, made Simon think he was better off on Serenity. Perhaps it's better than River isn't here, God knows how she would handle all of this. Simon doesn't know if he could keep her safe, or Kaylee for that matter, or anyone from Serenity.

"This is going to take some thought," he thought aloud to himself. Looking back up at Haruhi, the doctor smiled a little.
"But thank you, you've been a great help to me Haruhi."

She stood to her feet, frowning a moment. She really had wanted to know about his world. What it was like, but she really couldn't think of a way to ask anything. Besides, it was all really a moot point now, he was never going to be able to get back ... unless he ended up like the others. With a soft sigh she smiled again, trying to be reassuring really. “You'll be fine. At least you didn't come right after the duchess spoke. That would have been harder.”
no subject
"Also, if you ever need anything, just ask." Haruhi wouldn't be the first resident to be his patient, though he does hope that she never will. Bad things seem to happen to good people anyway, no matter where in the 'verse a person lives.
