"That is brave of you," said the trees softly, "or at least...it is kind."

As she approached the sound, there was visible movement. Something white and silver flickered behind the cover of the winter undergrowth, dead branches and evergreens alike, and cringed behind the trunk of a particularly large tree. It did not move again.

"I admit have become less accustomed to either than I ever was. My form has changed, you see, and now the others will not listen to me any longer. My allies will not listen to me. My only friend will not listen to me. They say such terrible things now...I am uncertain what I should do."

There was a pause, and a quiet, pained hiss. "I do not think you should come any closer. You say your friends are frightening, and I believe you. But if I should frighten you while they do not, that would make me terrible indeed. I am uncertain if I could bear it."

There's no reason to be afraid of the forest, Misa.
