Who: Captain Jack Harkness [
capt_j_harkness], Severus Snape [
notabat]
Where Jack's room
When: Now
Rating: Automatically PG- this is Jack.
Summary: Jack decides to show Snape dying isn't always the best way of dealing with things.
the Story:
Jack had been keeping to himself far too much lately. Whilst this wasn't always unusual, it wasn't necessarily a good thing either, and so he'd decided to solve this with his usual method. That is to say he'd invited someone to his room- definitely one of the easier ways of making friends. And of of his preferred methods, at that.
Jack generally kept his room in a decent state, so it didn't really take much to get things ready. Just a couple of glasses next to the whisky decanter, putting Emmi back in her cage (because even he had some standards), then he was ready.
The only thing missing was his guest.

Severus stood up from where he was sitting and straightened out his robes, which were still stained with blood from the battle he had left at home. He sighed in frustration and headed out the door, slamming it shut behind him as he made his way to Room 032.
Striding up the stairs quickly, he finally found the room he was searching for on the third floor and approached the door. Lifting his arm slowly, Severus knocked on the door 3 times, each one as loud and precise as the next.

He extended a hand before introducing himself. If he felt it was something he should have done before he showed no sign of it.
"Captain Jack Harkness, and you are..?"
no subject
He stared at the hand with a blank expression, not interested in shaking it at all. However, after a few moments passed, he figured it would be best to do so and took the hand into his own, shaking it once before letting go, hardly giving Jack the time to grab it back.
"Severus Snape." he replied in a low, less-than-enthusiastic voice.

He leaned against the door frame, using his movement as an excuse to lessen the proximity between himself and Severus.
"Nice to meet you, Severus Snape." he nodded, tipping him a wink before stepping back inside the room and motioning for him to enter.

Taking a step back himself at the odd gesture (well, to Severus, a wink was odd), he eyed Jack suspiciously. However, his look managed to take a different direction and slightly softened when Jack offered him a way inside the room.
"..Likewise, Mr. Harkness." Severus nodded and walked through the doorway.

"Captain Harkness," he corrected, before leaning in conspiratorially. "...but you can call me Jack."
He drew back, making his way over to his desk. "Can I get you a drink?"
no subject
Severus considered the title for a second and took a look at Jack, "Captain of what, exactly?" he asked. In Severus' opinion, Jack hardly looked like a captain of anything.
"...That depends on what you are attempting to give me." Severus did not move, standing where he was, still slightly suspicious of his surroundings. He had met some strange people already and he was not going to take any chances.

He raised an eyebrow at his suspicion, but didn't mention anything. "Whisky... although I'm pretty sure I've got some hyper vodka around if you feel like something stronger?"
no subject
He shook his head at the mention of vodka. He could not afford to get drunk, "..Whiskey...is fine."
no subject
He nodded, filling up both glasses, and handing one to Severus.
no subject
He took the glass with one hand and nodded to Jack. One could take it as a silent "Thank you" since Severus hardly new the meaning of common courtesy in verbal form, "What was this method that you were hinting at?" He was referring to their previous conversation about dealing with the mansion.

Jack smirked, taking a sip from his glass. "What do you imagine?"
no subject
Judging that the drink was not poisoned, Severus took a drink, as well. "...Re-decorating, perhaps?" He really did despise the colors and all the malicious joy that the mansion held.
no subject
The one thing that hadn't improved was his taste in interior design. He cast a critical eye around his room (essentially a shrine to war memorabilia and alien tech), before turning back to Severus. "Do you really think re-decorating is something I can help you with?"
no subject
Severus did the same, turning his eyes this way and that, taking in the design of the room. It was the same as his, except, without all the memories of war and odd machinery lying around. This was not his idea of "homey", either. He shot the idea of re-decorating with this man completely out of his head, "Fortunately for me, no. And if I may add," he paused for the next word, for he was not used to calling people by their first names, "...Jack. You have a horrible sense in interior design." He took another sip of the whiskey.

"Fancy a refill?"

"Jack. If you wouldn't mind, could you tell me what that other method was? My patience is growing slim." Severus' voice was now slightly annoyed.
