Who: Russia and Lithuania
Where: Lithuania's room
When: After Liet's arrival
Rating: PG for creeperism
Summary: Russia's bff has just showed up. Time tostalk him pay him a little visit.
the Story:
It's been less than a month since he'd last seen Liet. In that short span of time, he'd been forced to sing, been attacked by robotic guards, and watched as England's flag stretched across the sky as though it were trying to envelop the entire world. Even during all of that, Lithuania had never been too far from his mind. Everyone once in a while he'd shake his head at yet another oddity of Wonderland, open his mouth to ask the smaller nation if he thought the notion was just as absurd as Russia thought. His jaw would hang open in the air for only a second before snapping shut, the audible click of his teeth against one another the only answer to his question.
When Vexen had told him he could grow sunflowers once the world thawed, he jumped in excitement, eyes glowing and tongue working faster than his mind to say Liet, I've finally found a territory I can grow sunflowers in! I've finally--! And then he stopped, letting himself slump against his bed as he willed himself not to give into despair.
Now that the Baltic State is finally here--now that Russia finally has his Liet back--he's not about to let the other nation go. He winds quietly through the halls, asking anyone nearby if they'd seen a boy with brown hair in a uniform walk by. He nods politely and smiles each time (smiles that would send a chill through whoever witnessed it, though no one could be sure why), trotting along the first floor hallway until he finds an occupied room away from the others.
He doesn't bother knocking.
Pipe held loosely in one hand and a vodka bottle in the other, he quickly shifts both items to one hand, grabbing the doorknob and slipping in with only the briefest rustle of fabric.
Russia closes the door and smiles gently. "Liet."

Probably not, Lithuania thinks, slowly reaching up an arm to rest against Russia's back, his hand tightening in the man's scarf. If he knew, Poland would be...
Lithuania swallows, realizing how much danger he puts Poland and other people in, just because... because Russia had decided he was his. And if someone like America was there to help Lithuania, like when he'd given him a place to stay when he'd needed it... Russia wouldn't like that, either.
He slowly draws a breath in, closing his eyes, willing the feeling away. He had to be stronger! If Russia knew how scared he was, Lithuania would be at his mercy.
Not that he isn't already.
Hoping to find something to pull conversation in another direct, Lithuania slowly pulls back to watch Russia. "How... long have you been here?" he asks.

Russia lingers in position for another moment before answering Liet's question. He lifts his head and twirls the pipe thoughtfully. "A little over two weeks. In that time, I lived through two 'events' which forced me to sing and to fight off some bizarre invasion by England. But, of course, that didn't last long."
He pauses once before a grin stretches over his face and he turns towards Liet again. "Not many seems so pleased with the events, but I think they're fun! They can't hurt me, and I will make sure they will never hurt you either."
The hand that isn't holding the pipe drifts once again to Lithuania's back. He rubs the smaller nation in what should be a reassuring gesture. His voice is confident and light, it should be reassuring. But it's Russia doing these things, so the real message is never clear. This time, the message is the words Russia didn't say. He didn't forget to say them. He just left his sentence unfinished because both nations knew exactly what he was thinking.
No one is allowed to hurt you but me.

He closes his eyes, trying to blank the thought from his mind. There's no sense in lingering on that.
Lithuania manages a small smile, thankful that his shirt and jacket are on, now -- Russia can't reach his skin; can't run his fingers over the scars criss-crossing over Lithuania's back.
"Thank you," he says, quietly, because he's not sure what else to say. "I'm lucky to have you, Russia." It's what he's expected to say, what he's expected to feel, and even though Lithuania secretly thinks that Russia prefers his misery, that doesn't mean Lithuania has to show it. In his mind, this is some sick, twisted kind of rebellion -- though his head starts to hurt a little if he thinks about why too long. That's always how it is, when Liet tries to put himself in Russia's boots.

Time has made sure that such methods are all Russia knows.
Finally, he lets go of Lithuania and turn towards him. "And now that I know where you're staying, I won't have any problems making sure you're safe! Because this is your first night in Wonderland, I'll stay by your side tonight and make sure nothing bad happens to you!"
Not that he suspected anything would, but he wasn't giving Liet a choice in this one. His shack would be fine. (Not like anyone would want to steal anything out of it, anyway.) Of course, he'd have to go get his guns in the morning, but he could easily defend Liet with only his pipe tonight. Russia also refrains from specifying exactly when he plans to leave Liet alone, instead switching to an entirely different topic.
"Are you hungry, Lithuania? I could show you to the kitchen if you are."

"Oh... really? Do bad things happen sometimes, the first night?" Lithuania doesn't think so -- wouldn't somebody have warned him? -- but he's not going to argue with Russia regarding much of anything. He glances around, noting the one bed. Well, it isn't as if they haven't shared before... and it can't be as bad as sharing a bed with America had been. It had been years, but Lithuania still remembered America, tossing and turning and mumbling about all sorts of things in his sleep.
Russia switching the topic quickly doesn't phase Lithuania too much. It's something the two have always done around each other, after all. He's already assumed that Russia will leave him come morning, but somewhere in the back of his mind he thinks he knows better.
"Hungry?" he asks. "Oh, sure!" Lithuania's eyes light up -- maybe he could cook dinner for both of them. Russia was usually satiated when he'd been fed -- at least for a little while.

It's a nice sentiment, really, if no one considers the fact that 'keeping Lithuania safe' entails sharing the same bed, pipe clutched between them as Russia watches Liet drift off to sleep. It may be hard to fall asleep with someone like Russia so close to you, breathing down your neck all night and watching you like a dog watching a snared rabbit struggling to escape its trap. But, Liet will just have to manage. After all, being watched is a much better alternative to what else Russia could do.
He stops fiddling with his pipe. "Oh good! I'm starving, and I know your cooking is something to be desired."
Russia stands in the doorway, nodding his head towards the hallway. He wants Liet to go first. He's not about to let the boy out of sight for a while.

Russia stands at the doorway and Liet feels like a dog being let out of its kennel by its master. He just barely manages not to hang his head as he passes by Russia through the door, stopping suddenly and glancing towards him. "Ah... why don't we walk side-by-side?" he suggests, not quite wanting to walk in front of Russia, even if it is in a semi-public place. "That way you can lead me to the kitchen, since I don't know the way?"
no subject
Finally, he smiles and nods. "Of course. Side-by-side."
His arm slides up to wrap around Lithuania's shoulders without the slightest bit of hesitation. With a little more force than necessary, he pulls the smaller nation close to him, essentially trapping Liet against his body. It's a little disappointing that he can't feel how Liet trembles through all of his heaving clothing, or hear how loud his heart beats every time Russia moves closer to him. Russia misses that.
He'd have to amend that tonight.
"Come, I'll show you to the kitchen!" He gives Liet a small pat on the shoulder before striding forward.

He somehow manages to turn and look up at Russia, eyes big. "Can I really use this place?" he asks. Even America's kitchen hadn't been this big, and America went big with everything.
Every once in a while, when Lithuania was with Russia, he could still feel happy. He wouldn't realize exactly what it was until later, but it was something that kept him with the man, instead of fighting against him. Lithuania knew that fight would be futile, and sometimes Russia even made him smile, so he convinced himself it wasn't truly all bad.

His eyes seem to drift off to stare beyond the kitchen in front of him, as if he were gazing dead-on into a dream. At the same time, his expression is eerily serene, and anyone familiar with him could easily recognize the joyful madness disguised behind a placid smile. He sqeezes Lithuania's shoulder a little too hard; whether done intentionally or not isn't clear. Russia's voice drops to a nearly a whisper. "This, all of this, is as good as mine."
Suddenly his eyes snap back towards Lithuania, once again wearing a mask of sanity with a cheerful smile in place. "I'm sure no one will have any issue with you using it any time you wish!" Because they wouldn't dare to force you to do anything. Not while I'm here.
Russia didn't have to say it to make it true.
He gives Lithuania a light pat on the same shoulder he had clutched with such bruising force only seconds before. "It's all yours, Liet."

Pushing the thoughts of Russian conquest from his mind for now, Lithuania turns back to the kitchen, looking around. He goes from the oven (one of three, a gas oven with huge ranges) to the pantry door (an entire room all set off by itself?!) to the fridge (industrial sized and temperature controlled) in awe, looking every which way before finally turning to Russia, grinning.
"What should I cook for you?" he asks.

Whether that will make annexation easier or harder, he'll find out in time.
He moves over to the fridge and removes (you guessed it) another bottle of vodka. "Ah, I'm thinking Kiev chicken and grechka."
