Summary: PART TWO OF ALICE’S TRIAL
the Story:
To begin with, the two sides presented their opening statements, and then the criminal herself, Alice was brought out. Ivan recieved a penalty almost immediately for his treacherous opening statement. The defense then presented the evidence, and was cross-examined by the defense, as well as the Queen. Ivan, Russia’s mirror, caused quite the commotion with his objections, and Alice sobbed for her cat (which caught the Queen’s attention). Haruhi shouted out against the claim that Alice stole the white rabbit's "luck", given that the Rabbit was eaten by the mansion long ago.
Then, the witnesses were brought out. First Alice? was selected randomly from the crowd and questioned. Alice? was firm in his belief that Alice is completely and totally innocent of all charges, and suggested that the Queen was the one preventing her from leaving. Then, a witness from the mirror side was brought out, Riqis. Riqis, of course, testified that Alice had been sneaking around, talking to those “fakes” as he put it, and that she had probably been stealing things, and that she was very stupid and annoying. Alice was very insulted by this, and spoke out against it. Jace asked if her cat obsession had been a tactic to distract him from guarding her, and Mia objected. The Queen over ruled it, but the questioning was quickly objected again, this time by Arland, only for him to be ordered to cease.
Finally, the Queen sent the court into recess. Now, the court have reconvened, and both sides have gathered once more. The Queen then wastes no time in starting the second half of the trial, once everyone is present.
[ooc: Hello again! Everyone is welcome to continue their threads from the previous post, and we highly encourage it (in fact, the main story still has threads continuing over there). This post is for day two of the proceedings. Again, please feel free to cause a commotion in the peanut gallery! All posts after this one will be considered to be after the trial. There will be a final summary posted tomorrow night, along with the queen’s final ruling. Have fun everyone! This event has been going great!]
