Well, that's because it was superior, Viennese coffee. There's simply no comparison. If Austria were to walk into a Dunkin' Donuts, he would be positively horrified and elegantly outraged at what America has done to the art of coffee making and coffee drinking. Granted, the tea room would never be the same as a true Viennese cafe, but it would have to do for now.

Austria raised an eyebrow at Kurt. " It is safe to consume, you know," he said. It wasn't just for staring at, after all.

To prove his point, Austria took a small sip of his own coffee, with a grace only achieved by centuries of coffee drinking. Or, you know, by elegant snobs. Austria would prefer to just think of coffee as an art in its own right.
