Coffee // [incomplete]
Who: Kurt Hummel [
kurtilicious11] and Austria [
elegantvirtuoso]
Where Tea Room on the first floor
When: 10/18/09
Rating: idk, PG? God guys, they're just having coffee.
Summary: Austria is growing increasingly frustrated with the insinuations that he is not really a country. So he invites Kurt for coffee. That will fix everything. ...Right?Oh god why are we letting Austria explain anything?
the Story:
Everything was made better by meetings over coffee. This was basic fact, as far as Austria was concerned.
He remembered, of course, that not all worlds were aware of the presence of nations among citizens, but it had been some time since anyone had been so annoyingly adamant that he was insane for calling himself a country. It was incredibly frustrating, though perhaps the boy could be reasoned with. He seemed like a reasonable person - after all, he understood the value of a sale quite clearly.
Austria sat at a table waiting for Kurt, and he already had the coffee prepared. Each place setting had a glass of Einspänner, as well as a still glass of water (as this was how coffee was done, the Austrian way). Austria hoped he would not be kept waiting long, though he could hardly blame Kurt if he became lost. The mansion was terribly hard to navigate, in Austria's opinion, and there was a reason he was primarily housed on the first floor.
He opted not to wait to begin his coffee, at the least. His head had begun to ache during their conversation, for obvious reasons. Crazistan, indeed! Of all the nerve! He would not allow himself to get too physically worked up over the annoyance though. He did have a healing wound to be concerned with, after all. ...It was still a highly improper name though.

And when he saw Austria at the table with coffee he assumed he was in the right place and walked in -- wearing only the latest fashions (http://www.daemonstv.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/glee_chris_colfer_as__kurt__023glee_chris_colfer_as__kurt__023abrf.jpg) of course -- and made his was immediately towards the table that Austria was already at.
Looking at him, though, there was a question that was bothering Kurt. Nagging at something in the back of his head. Persistent as both Austria and he had been in their argument. Pawing at him, until he couldn't keep himself from asking.
"Where did you get that jacket?"
It was a gorgeous jacket.

" It was commissioned by order of Franz Joseph," he said. " All of state officials of my country wear similar uniforms." His was the only blue coat though, being the nation himself. All of the others were black and red velvet.
However, the answer did show his coat was dated (to 1849, no less), but it certainly did not look nearly so old as that, and it showed no signs of being worn-out. Austria always kept it repaired nicely.
" And yours?" Kurt really did have good fashion sense, after all. It would do good to know where he had obtained his as well, especially if he was truly someone conscious of sales.

He doesn't sit down yet, since it's polite to wait until you're asked to sit, right?

Of course he did - Kurt was a name with roots in Austria's native language, after all."It seems to suit you," he added. He then gestured toward the other chair at his table. Being a gentleman, he said, " Won't you sit down?" How improper of him to not have asked sooner. Shame shame on the aristocrat.

He looked curiously at the coffee drink. It was really different from American coffee.

Austria raised an eyebrow at Kurt. " It is safe to consume, you know," he said. It wasn't just for staring at, after all.
To prove his point, Austria took a small sip of his own coffee, with a grace only achieved by centuries of coffee drinking. Or, you know, by elegant snobs. Austria would prefer to just think of coffee as an art in its own right.

"Sorry, I'm a little paranoid about drinks since someone gave me a drink and I puked on the guidance counselor's shoes."
But if Austria was willing to take a drink of his own coffee, Kurt figured it was safe enough and sipped it tentatively. It was strong for someone like Kurt who didn't drink coffee often.

Austria thought he remembered some vague mention of football players having put something in Kurt's drink, though he could not remember whether he was the one being talked to or not, so he did not mention it specifically. Instead, he said " It sounds as though things have not been fortunate for you recently."
Vomiting on someone's shoes, worrying for what had been put into his drink, an being pulled into a strange land? It certainly did not sound like he had been having much luck. No wonder he had been so terribly rude to the nations annexed by Wonderland. It could be certainly because things had just gotten so awful for Kurt that he momentarily forgot his manners.

"I guess, but it happens."
