Who: Seimei & Ritsuka
Where The Kitchen
When: After this post
Rating: PG for cussing
Summary: The reunited brothers spend some quality time together cooking.Yeah...this is gonna turn out well.
The Story: Seimei was already in the process of picking out ingredients by the time Ritsuka came down. As the older brother he liked to do things for his little brother. Not many received the privilege of enjoying the young man's nicer qualties. Of course when Ritsuka comes down he's greeted by a smile.
"Did Ritsuka get lost?"
He wiggled his ears to give him a hint it was a joke. Older Brothers were older brothers even when they were bastard covered bastards with bastard filling.

"What have you been reading?"

He glanced over at Seimei. "What has Seimei been doing?" Since, you know, yesterday, when I spent the night.
no subject
Seimei was cutting beef very thinly. He kept his eyes on the task but his voice remained friendly.
"Are you you planing to go into that when you're older?"
no subject
He continued to chop the veggies in silence for a few moments. "Have you seen the gardens yet?" Ritsuka always thought the gardens were really weird.

Seimei started warm up the stove and get pan ready. "Some of it...The chess board hills are interesting."
no subject
Those hills, they were once Alice's eyes, her memory of Dinah. She was his friend, Alice. She was kind to him, and that woman took her away.

Blood. Blood of all things spilled from Ritsuka. Seimei fought with the impulse to throw everything away that was touched by and to remain near his brother for support and help.
"How is it? Are you missing anything?"
no subject
If Seimei would dare to look, there was a small sliver of flesh lying next to the celery.
no subject
"All right? There is a piece of you laying there on the table!"
His hands covered Ritsuka's hands. He pressed harder. "Is there a healer or doctor around here?"
no subject
"The book says it'll stop faster if we keep it above my heart." The boy seemed so calm about this. As if they were just cooking something and not trying to stop the bleeding of his finger. Of course, Ritsuka was used to abuse and bleeding. It didn't scare or surprise him like it should. "One of the cabinets should give you first aid stuff ... as long as that's what you want."
no subject
"This should bother you Ritsuka." Seimei speaks softly while getting the supplies, He lays them out for Ritsuka. "This place has changed you."
no subject
"She wants you to return." His fingers squeezed a bit harder as his hand lowered. Ritsuka knew he wasn't enough, not nearly enough for their mother. He wasn't that Ritsuka, nor was he Seimei. He could never be enough.
no subject
He knew that when he left his younger brother, that his mother would start trying to hurt him. However sometimes cruel things had to be done for reasons that were not easy to describe. Seimei preferred to focus on his time here with Ritsuka instead.
"She's all alone right now. There's Dad but he doesn't really count when she's angry at him."
no subject
He didn't mention that he wasn't sure he wanted him to return.
no subject
He smiled a little less sincerely because of the blood than usual but his intention was to try and boost Ritsuka's spirits. "Since you seem to be well versed on this subject."

"Very well." The color in his face hadn't returned. Seimei checked the drawers again for rubber gloves. He put them on and reached for Ritsuka's hand. "Let me see."
no subject
At the look on Seimei's face the younger Aoyagi frowned. "You ... don't have to. If you don't want to." He felt his heart sink. Seimei had always been so ready to help him bandage himself before. Now he was simply ... not Ritsuka.
no subject
"Do not misunderstand me, Ritsuka. I love you...but it hurts me to see you hurt...especially when I am here. Ritsuka is like me? Isn't he?"
He forced himself to quietly lick it off his lips. How many times would he scrub himself for this. How many times would he feel the urge that he was dirty at this moment. Yet it was Ritsuka and in someone so similar to him, he found himself willing...to do horrible things, sometimes even to himself. If only Ritsuka remained, what he was. Seimei bandaged Ritsuka's finger.
no subject
Once bandaged he leaned forward to wipe at Seimei's lips with a clean towel. "Seimei shouldn't drink my blood. It's dirty." He was frowning, but still blushing, and the warmth of his actions, the pure concern for his brother was evident.
no subject
"It was just a taste." Seimei honestly didn't need Ritsuka to tell him it was dirty. His mind's alarm bells were going off constantly because of his actions. "Perhaps I should have done the cooking."
He smiled in a teasing manner at Ritsuka.
no subject
Ritsuka blushed at his tease and looked down. "It ... was the hills. They were Alice's eyes." He sounded sad when he spoke of them. "Alice ... was nice. She was trapped on the other side. We tried to stop the Queen from hurting her ... but we failed."
