Two Americas walk into the kitchen..

Who: America and Meriken
Where A small tour around the mansion, leading to the kitchen.
When: Shortly after Meriken's arrival.
Rating: P for PATRIOTIC. And possible mansion exploding, as to be expected with two Americas together.
Summary: America will update Meriken on Mansion happenings. The American way.
the Story:

Since Meriken was on the 9th floor, it made it easy to find her. America decides of course to show her all the cool places, already having a map in mind of where he's going to show her. Lots of cool places in this place.

And, lots of people to avoid.

He's wearing his sweatshirt and jeans, which is usual since he only wears his military uniform now when necessary. He does have his bomber jacket, though. Never leave home without it. The nation grins.

"You ready?"

Comparable to America, Meriken is dressed casually all but her scarf, which she wears proudly around her neck, draping over her back in a cape-like manner. She reflects his grin with a smile of her own.

"Of course!"

Really, it was hard to believe that there could be another United States of America. But here he was. Still, she wished they didn't have to meet by being stuck in some freaky mansion with a bunch of terrorists and "Chains" and who knew what else.

"How long have you been here, anyway?"

"Oh, yeah! I'd be so angry!!"

She stopped at that and thought for a moment before shrugging lightly. "Though I guess you could probably just throw one here, with all of these people." More thinking, and she slid her gaze over to America. "You've been here for a long time, though.."

How could he deal with being stuck here that long? Was he really stuck? It was saddening to think her...self could get stuck like that while claiming to be a hero. Maybe he was just, distracted or something. Or weaker than her. Or, or... other people were getting in the way! Yeah, might be it.

"Have Brit-- er, England and the others been here that long as well?"

Meriken was silent for a moment. It was a bit awkward, this whole situation. She wondered if just because he was a nation, could he understand some things that the other nations couldn't, about her? There was no way she was going to just open up to him, or anything, though. Not like there was anything she was hiding, it was just, she couldn't say everything she was thinking if this America guy wasn't who she thought he was..

What if it was all some set up? Well, looking at him and hearing him speak, she really didn't want to believe that.

"That's really.... weird." She decided on those words and left it at that, letting her eyes wander anywhere but towards him.

"Video game room?! This place has video games?! It suddenly got less depressing!"

Moving easily with the change of topic, she grinned and moved with him. "I am really hungry.." She hesitated. "You annexed the library?" Another pause, filled only with her smiling. "Nice."

There was too much to think about right now. It was kind of a hassle. She shoved it off as being part of what you had to deal with while being a hero. Really, though, really.. there was another United States?.. Was it more "weird" or "awesome"? She wasn't sure yet. England had made him out to be some sort of idiot. ....But, England was like Briten, wasn't he?

She had no idea who to listen to. So she just walked along and decided to figure out for herself.

"Awesome!"

Yes, so many stairs. Well, maybe she could use this as exercise since she wasn't getting to the gym like she normally did! Had to keep that childlike body in tip-top shape!

"It can make food for you?" she realized a bit later after his sentence, scratching the side of her head. "That's pretty cool!.. It's a good place to know.. I hope I'll make friends with everyone here, too! I've already met so many people.."

She spaced out drifted off in thought.

She moved her eyes to watch him as he spoke, and nodded simply, letting her own thoughts wander. Countries, some british girl, and... some "kinda way serious" guy. Then, she seemed to recognize them and nodded slowly. "I think maybe some of them have talked to me already.."

She paused and thought. "Let's see... I've met, uhh.. Poland, that Gokudera guy, a couple humans.. one was Nai I think, there was a green dude, and then Lithuania" (Did she say that one a bit differently than the rest?) "Also, Gilbert, Germany, France, and England, of course!"

She sighed at the end of the long list and gave a thumbs up. "Uh, so far~! Pretty good right?"

"He is?.. He called me a robot clone."

She frowned at that, obviously irritated, but dropped it rather quickly to move on. "France insisted that I couldn't be America because America adores him.." She paused here to study his reaction. She hoped to god she was right when saying that there was no way any representation of her would "Adore" France. "England?.."

She hesitated. "He didn't seem so bad, except for not believing I was America because I was "lovely" or something. I dunno, he used funny words. Like Briten." She stopped there and thought for a long moment. "But he's kind of different than Briten. He said if I got lonely to just go see him-- Briten's more like, "I don't want to see you" and then yells at me when I don't show up. ..Or something."

Dropping that part quickly for the sake of the next, she grinned. "Well, anyway, I can't wait to meet more people! I never get to meet too many of my citizens~"

She just stares at him for the first part. Really, what.. ..Invasion training was great and all, but not against her! And that was her logic as she frowned, straight through the part about France.

"I knew he was lying!" was her simple exclamation as she plotted to show France the next time she saw him not to lie to her! Really, how would she adore him. In any way shape or form. Next England came up again. Jealous? Maybe, who wouldn't be? But that wasn't really something she could blame him fo-- Wait..

"Uhh," she mumbled, finding a very interesting spot on the floor in front of her as they walked. "I actually, kinda, said something like "uhh alright". Yeah." She peeked a glance back at him curiously. Did it matter? "I figured it wouldn't hurt."

She nodded and brought her hands down from all of the hand gestures she had been making. "Yeah! It's almost, out-of-place here. ...But then again, seeing some people I know helps. And.. you know." You know, even if they were terrorists.

"So he can't cook either?!" Meriken asked, sounding a bit startled though she should have guessed that from before. Briten's cooking was probably a trait that had to be shared. That was too bad. Tea, she could deal with, but scones got old. Too fast... She was too used to eating them for humoring that girl. Sighing lightly, she waved her hands. "Ah, well, I don't even know if I'm going anytime soon!" She wasn't lonely, after all..

As Pakistan came up, Meriken tried her best not to flat out scowl. Unconsciously, she scratched her hand a little before she spoke. Damn cats..

"Did she do that?! She'd really be fine if she'd only listen to what I say, but she never does." Really, why was it so hard to see that the way she did it was working? She was only trying to help..

[identity profile] hellyesamerica.livejournal.com 2010-03-05 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
"I can understand that..." Yes, maybe tolerance was the best word for it. And war really could be avoided!.. if that were the case. They sure had some things in common. Then again, there were differences as well, right? Gender was the main one.. (What did the gender of a country mean, anyway?) Aghh, too much thought, what is this, must get distracted. Just.. say something. Yeah.

"It's hard to explain there being two Americas," she commented randomly, an irritated frown forming on her face. "If one more person tells me I'm not the United States... I'm going to shoot laser beams from my eyes."

No, really. She was.
