A Pleasant chat

Who: Major, Elaine
Where 10th Floor.
When: Retconned to immediately after he comes back to life.
Rating: Vile, because it's the Major
Summary: Major comes back to life, Elaine wants to talk.
the Story:   By now, the sensation of returning to life was not an unusual one. As much as it was a sensation and not a realization. He was alive, and now he was awake, and previously mangled bones were intact.

The room was unfamiliar, but he had a feeling he'd been take prisoner. And, he couldn't feel his hands -- that was a new twist, but an interesting one. He really ought to incorporate that if he took on 'guests' again...

"You love war." Elaine sits once more, trying to understand. She's aware of how strange the scene is, with her sitting at his side, with him relaxing. She could be visiting her sick uncle.

"Why? There has to be some sort of end goal..."

"I have to say, you're a special one. But don't let it get to your head." The strange part is that she actually undestands his point. She knows that there will always be evil in the world, and it's a fact she has to accept.

"Tell me, Major, what happened with your mirror? You had a video before where you saw your mirror self, and... it made you very angry."

"No, I meant different. Defective implies there's a perfect version."

She shifts her position on the bed. It seems like she might have struck a nerve at least, which was something. It could lead somewhere. "You didn't answer my question."

Elaine gazes at him steadily for a few seconds before standing up and going to the bathroom. She takes a glass that's on the sink and fills it with tap water, then goes back to him. She holds it out for him to drink.

"...You might say inhumane."

Elaine taps a finger against the now empty glass before deciding which of her next questions to ask. "You have an interest in humanity, don't you? And yet... you turned Ritsuka into a vampire. And you killed Hibari, who's human, as far as I know."

[identity profile] demiurgos-girl.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
"So, you don't really care for anything or anyone that isn't human? Just because they're not completely human?"

Elaine starts rummaging through the desk again.

"And you, Major? You're the master. What do you think you are?"

She pulls out her communicator, and starts looking over the recorded videos.

She raises her eyebrow, finally having found the right video, but not showing it to him yet. "Are you sure?"

"So you know, then." Seeu was right. She had hoped that she could show him his machine side, hoped that the realization would bring about some sort of change in him. Apparently, it only made him more self-absorbed. "And still you're obsessed with taking that samelife out of other people."

"..." Elaine knows a lost cause when she sees one. "If it wasn't for this Mansion, Major..." The problem would have been solved, ages ago. Elaine gets up to leave. "If you ever get to hell... say hello to Duma for me."

[identity profile] demiurgos-girl.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
She opens the door, but pauses at the threshold, looking at him. "This Mansion is the closest thing to a clean slate that you'll ever get. Aren't you tired of being hunted all the time? Tired of running all the time? Tired of having your research destroyed every step of the way? There's no need to make a point here, because there's nothing any of us can do to change this place..." She pauses after that, thinking about what her talk with Hotaru. "Certainly you can run experiments on us. But I'll be there every step of the way to make you stop. And I won't be the only one. You might never die here... but neither do we."

She doubts it will make a difference, but she won't let go without having her say. "You're more blind than I am."
