Who: America and Helena
Where America's room
When: A few days after Easter
Rating: G
Summary: It's time for that talk.
the Story:
Helena hadn't touched the chocolates Alfred had let for her during Easter. All she had done was put them on her desk, along with the rabbit toy he had given her. But she had kept them, at least...
She glances at them, a bit nervous, as she leaves her room and walks toward his. It's a long walk and she wishes it was shorter, so that she could get everything over with as soon as possible. All the advice she had gotten the day before Easter was playing in her head. There were two things that most people told her to do, the first of which was to talk to him. And that's what she was going to do.
She knocks on his door, taking a deep breath.

That's how he constructed his ridiculous idea. Maybe, if he does something good, helps Helena and everyone out someway...
Of course, his plan is filling him with doubt. England's not helping with that. It's only because he didn't think of it first, though. Right?
There's a knock on the door, and America gets up, opens it and peeks out.
And... pauses. Somehow, he manages a light smile.
"Hey, Helena."
Oh right, their talk.
no subject
"Hello." Although they're talking to each other, and they're standing right in front of each other, she's looking into his room, trying to avoid having to look at him. "Can I come in?"
She'd really rather get it over with. His room is the closest, private space. Although she does glance around to look for England, hoping he's not there.
no subject
Most likely, England is inside sewing something.
"I'm sure there's an empty room nearby we could use..."
He's not really looking at her, either. Making out with her evil twin is kind of fresh in his mind.
"Or.. we could go outside."
no subject
Turning around without being awkward about it is difficult. She doesn't want the conversation to be hard, so she's trying to act like everything's okay. At least until they actually talk about what happened.
Her hands stay in her pockets as she leads the way out of the Mansion, in silence.

Meanwhile he feels like a kicked puppy. He hates admitting he's wrong, and this is just.. all over the place with that. Plus, England did quite a good job of upsetting him over this, too.
Why does he talk to England about anything? Seriously.
So eventually they're outside. The air feels nice, at least. He takes a deep breath.
"At least it's getting warm out. Summer's coming quick."

She turns around to look at him blankly for a second.
The second piece of advice most people had given her was a hard hit to the head.
So she gives him a punch to his shoulder, because she thinks hitting his head is a bit too much. The best part is that since he's a country she can do this as hard as she wants to. Which is basically so hard that her own hand starts to hurt.
Ryohei probably never meant for his self-defense classes to be used this way, but she thinks he'd approve.
"You're an idiot." It's not like she's violent in nature, but she's really upset. "You really hurt me and then you acted like nothing was wrong. You probably wouldn't even have told me if I hadn't seen your one post!"
no subject
Helena's not supposed to be violent. Okay, so she has his attention.
And then the 'yelling' starts. America stuffs his hands in his pockets, and he looks at her and tries not to look anywhere else but it's too tempting. He's not used to this.
"I didn't want to upset you!" Okay, might not be the best thing to say. "Besides, I thought it was you! How exactly was I supposed to just come out and say that?"
no subject
She doesn't really think that's unfair. He was supposed to know it wasn't her. She had warned him that the Princess was about, and that she looked the same. What else could she have done to make it easier for him? Wear a name-tag?
She sighs, and she knows that she's getting carried away. She sort of wants to punch him again, because once isn't quite enough. But she doesn't.
At the same time, she knows that he only had good intentions at heart... but she needs to get all the anger out of her system before she can forgive him.

He looks down at the ground once she turns from him, and tries not to shrink or anything. No, he's the hero. He can handle.. this..
Whatever this is anymore.
"I'm sorry." He tries, makes a face. He rarely apologizes. "You're right, it shouldn't have happened. And I don't know how I can change that it did."
He sighs, glances at her back once, before he raises his eyes toward the sky.
"...Maybe France was right."
no subject
But she already has an idea what she wants to say, and she knows she has to stick to it.
"What did France say?"
no subject
"That I shouldn't be dating a human. That all I'll do is end up hurting you."
no subject
"A lot of people did, actually."
no subject
"...But I cheated on you. That's.. unforgivable, really. They have lots of talk shows on it at home, and usually it involves a chair getting thrown and lots of yelling."
no subject
But she looks up again, serious.
no subject
He tries. Really.
no subject
She shuffles her feet again, but doesn't stop looking at him. "You make me happy, most of the time. It's just that once in a while we have a problem. And... do you think it's worth it?"
no subject
"I just want you to be happy, without all that other stuff. Whatever that takes, anyway."
no subject
She's silent again for a moment. "I was talking to the Princess, and... she said that since she has her own life now, she doesn't have to mess with mine."
Silent once more. "And a lot of people said I can't really blame you for what you did... and maybe it's true."
"And... I never said you cheated on me." She makes a face. "You were really dumb and you didn't know what to do about it, but... but that isn't the same as cheating."
no subject
This kind of annoys him but its unavoidable. Its a bit overwheling for so many to know his 'human' name, not to mention a bit odd. He was America first, after all. But considering how he got out of-
"...okay." it surprises him a bit, but besides feeling really awkward, he's not sure what else to do. It kind of bothers him that she keeps calling him stupid, but maybe he was. Heroes take their abuse in stride.
"In the end, it's up to you. I'm not dating everyone you spoke to, so it's your choice."
no subject
She shakes her head, trying to remember what she was supposed to say. "I still want us to be... you know, together. But I don't want to be too serious about it, either." In case I get hurt again.... "So let's not rush into things, or anything like that. Okay?"
no subject
"Okay, sure!" Nations can be very patient, after all. There's a pause.
"So.. this means that we're okay now?"
no subject
She does her best to smile at him. And she's finally, finally glad to get that load off her chest.
no subject
Doesn't help the awkward though.
"Well, I.. guess I'll see ya around, then."
