Catfight! [Closed]

Who: Pakistan ([livejournal.com profile] pakisunotpaku) and Poland ([livejournal.com profile] reckless_eagle).
Where Pakistan's room.
When: After Liet gets hit by a car and gets a haircut and a costume change dies tragically, before the end of Korea's event.
Rating: PG for event-induced melodrama and mild violence?
Summary: Poland goes to tell Pakistan of Lithuania's unfortunate demise. It doesn't go so hot.
the Story:

For hours after he'd learned of the accident, Poland had been in shock. He lay in his room, hugging Lithuania's pillow to himself, weeping and wailing and occasionally gnashing his teeth. But gradually, it dawned on him that he had a duty to fulfill--what his dear, departed Lithuania would have had him do, as his best friend.

So, he wiped his tears away, put on his black dress, and went to go knock on Pakistan's door. He might not have liked that she was seeing Liet, but she had a right to be told what had happened!

Pakistan had, apparently, been afflicted with a cold a dramatic yet vague illness for the past few days, so she had not been paying attention to the network. Thus, she did not know what had happened to Lithuania.

She answered her door in her nightgown, with her hair undone and her dubata wrapped around her shoulders, looking a bit under the weather. Surprised to see Poland, she hugged her dubata closer and belatedly wished she'd taken a moment to put on more clothes.

"Poland?"

She hesitated. It wasn't really proper to let a male into her room like that, especially not when he was dressed the way he was. But it was Poland, Lithuania's best friend, and even if they didn't get along that well, she knew she could trust him. Besides, she's a modern, progressive nation.

"Ah...yeah. Of course, come in." She held the door open to let him enter and closed it behind him. "I'm sorry about the mess. I've been a bit sick. What can I do for you?"

Hey, Poland isn't the only one with religious ideals to uphold.

Pakistan stared at him for a moment, her hand going to her mouth in shock. "W-what... That can't be true!"

She seemed to have forgotten that he'd be back in a day or so.

She swallowed hard and wiped away the tears forming in her eyes with her fists.

"I'm sorry. I..." She had no idea what to say to him. She had liked Lithuania a lot, but Poland had known him much longer than she had. It seemed like anything she could say would just belittle the pain he was in.

Not knowing what else to do, Pakistan stepped closer and hugged Poland. Somehow, except for those first few tears, she was dry eyed. Crying had just never been her way of coping, and somehow it seemed strange for a man to cry when she wasn't, even though Poland had been so close to Lithuania.

Pakistan stilled and stepped back far enough to look up at him.

"The way you talk, it's like you're the one who lost a boyfriend."

Her tone isn't accusing...quite, but it is very matter of fact and questioning.

"You and Wolfram," she murmured. Placing her hands on her hips, she leaned forward a bit, eyeing him. "You didn't seem like much of a couple to me before. And had you even told Lithuania that Wolfram's male? Did you lie to him often?"

She was probably crossing a line here, but somehow both the suspicious and jealous parts of her nature were flaring up. The way Poland spoke, his relationship with Lithuania sounded anything but innocent, and despite the other nation's loss, all of her sympathy toward him was draining away.

"I bet he didn't take it well."

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
"And I guess you are happy, dressed as a woman, in a relationship with another man."

Normally these sorts of things didn't bother her, but for some reason when it was Poland in question, it seemed to rub her the wrong way.

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Fine. Whatever you say." She crossed her arms, looking back at him sullenly.

For her size, Pakistan is very strong. So when she backhands someone across the face, it's going to at least sting, even if it's another nation.

Poland? You have just been backhanded by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

"Don't act like you know me, kuttay ka bacha." Angry tears formed in her eyes as she spoke.

She took the blow stoically, although it whipped her face to the side. She stands still with her hair hiding her face for a moment. Her small frame shook, but her voice was steady when she spoke.

"Deception by omission is still deception, Poland."

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I think there's something important you didn't tell him."

She still wouldn't look at him.

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Well it doesn't matter now, does it?"

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
Pakistan turned her head and watched him for several moments without say anything. And he'd called her a little girl.

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
He pretty much told her that her physical body keeps her from understanding what it's like to love someone dearly and then lose them. So they're about even.

"Maybe you should go back to Wolfram, Poland. He'll take care of you." Her voice was gentle, if a bit distant.

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
"...Thank you. For coming to tell me."

[identity profile] pakisunotpaku.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
She moved to get the door for him.

"See you, Poland."
