Catfight! [Closed]
Who: Pakistan (
pakisunotpaku) and Poland (
reckless_eagle).
Where Pakistan's room.
When: After Liet gets hit by a car andgets a haircut and a costume change dies tragically, before the end of Korea's event.
Rating: PG for event-induced melodrama and mild violence?
Summary: Poland goes to tell Pakistan of Lithuania's unfortunate demise. It doesn't go so hot.
the Story:
For hours after he'd learned of the accident, Poland had been in shock. He lay in his room, hugging Lithuania's pillow to himself, weeping and wailing and occasionally gnashing his teeth. But gradually, it dawned on him that he had a duty to fulfill--what his dear, departed Lithuania would have had him do, as his best friend.
So, he wiped his tears away, put on his black dress, and went to go knock on Pakistan's door. He might not have liked that she was seeing Liet, but she had a right to be told what had happened!

But gradually, it dawned on him that he had a duty to fulfill--what his dear, departed Lithuania would have had him do, as his best friend.
So, he wiped his tears away, put on his black dress, and went to go knock on Pakistan's door. He might not have liked that she was seeing Liet, but she had a right to be told what had happened!

a colda dramatic yet vague illness for the past few days, so she had not been paying attention to the network. Thus, she did not know what had happened to Lithuania. She answered her door in her nightgown, with her hair undone and her dubata wrapped around her shoulders, looking a bit under the weather. Surprised to see Poland, she hugged her dubata closer and belatedly wished she'd taken a moment to put on more clothes.
"Poland?"

But he hadn't come here to chicken out. Trying not to fuss with his clothing like he did when he was nervous, he sighed. "Can I come in? We like, need to talk about something..."

Besides, she's a modern, progressive nation."Ah...yeah. Of course, come in." She held the door open to let him enter and closed it behind him. "I'm sorry about the mess. I've been a bit sick. What can I do for you?"
no subject
He walked inside, barely even registering the mess in his shock and distress. "I'm like, gonna get to the point. Pakistan... Liet's dead."
My, that's certainly a dramatic background chord, isn't it?

Pakistan stared at him for a moment, her hand going to her mouth in shock. "W-what... That can't be true!"
She seemed to have forgotten that he'd be back in a day or so.

He trembled with emotion, looking up at her with his face still red from crying. "It's... It's true! I wanted it not to be... Wanted it so bad... But he's... He's gone..." Judging by the hollow pain in his voice, he'd forgotten, too.
no subject
"I'm sorry. I..." She had no idea what to say to him. She had liked Lithuania a lot, but Poland had known him much longer than she had. It seemed like anything she could say would just belittle the pain he was in.
no subject
"I..." He swallowed, trying to stay calm, to no avail. "I like, thought you should know and stuff..." Struggling to find something to say, he found that there really wasn't anything to talk about but how awful he felt, and started crying in earnest.

"I like, can't believe it," he said miserably, his body trembling. "How am I supposed to go on like this? Never seeing his smile, or feeling his hand in mine, or waking up beside him ever again..."
...That might not have been the best thing to say to his best friend's girlfriend, but to be fair, it was technically all true.
no subject
"The way you talk, it's like you're the one who lost a boyfriend."
Her tone isn't accusing...quite, but it is very matter of fact and questioning.
no subject
"No! Of course not! I... Wolfram and I are very happy together, and we're going to get married, a-and besides, it's not like Liet and I...!"
There were days when he very much wished he weren't so bad at denying things.

She was probably crossing a line here, but somehow both the suspicious and jealous parts of her nature were flaring up. The way Poland spoke, his relationship with Lithuania sounded anything but innocent, and despite the other nation's loss, all of her sympathy toward him was draining away.
no subject
"And I like, didn't lie, I just didn't correct him... And he... he knew. He found out."

Normally these sorts of things didn't bother her, but for some reason when it was Poland in question, it seemed to rub her the wrong way.

Poland? You have just been backhanded by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
"Don't act like you know me, kuttay ka bacha." Angry tears formed in her eyes as she spoke.
no subject
"Don't even," he hissed. "Kurwa, just... don't even! I love him so much more than you could ever imagine, and you act like I can just be happy with him gone?!"
no subject
"Deception by omission is still deception, Poland."

She still wouldn't look at him.

...Also, this event has made him cry roughly as much as 5 PMSing girls all the time. What am life. He will facepalm forever at this behavior later.
no subject
"Maybe you should go back to Wolfram, Poland. He'll take care of you." Her voice was gentle, if a bit distant.
no subject
"Yeah... Yeah, I totally think I'll do that."
Or go back to his room and cry some more. You know, close enough.

Taking a deep breath to compose himself, he glanced up at her. "I should go. I'll like, see you around..."
no subject
"See you, Poland."
no subject
And he was gone.
