Summary: After trying to find each other for all of three days and dramatically missing each other at each opportunity, Hibari and Seimei finally find one another.
the Story:After spending the entire event looking for Hibari and missing him by a series of oddly placed objects and poor timing.

Seimei has finally decided to give up on trying to find him. He sits down in the library and puts his hands over his head wondering where the hell the other could have gone. The event is almost over and he hasn't found him.

Hibari too had given up on finding Seimei. There were plenty of other people in the mansion to prey upon. But the bird had taken off for the library and Hibari followed it, not desiring it to get too far least something had happen yet again.

When he actually saw Seimei he was rather surprised. So. This is here he had been hiding?

Seimei looks up when he hears someone else enter. He blinks in surprise that it's actually the person he's been searching for all of this time! The sacrifice smiles at him as he's happy to see him but there's tension in his voice when he speaks.

"Hibari..I've been looking for you all of this time."

"Oh? Funny. So have I. This place is large but I didn't know it was quite that big."

Hibari walked over, still acting, unfortunately, like someone much more callous and opportunistic than himself. Looking at Seimei was like looking at a list of things that could be said or done to twist him, use him, hurt him. He smiled with much more charm than he'd ever possessed in his normal life.

"Neither did I."

Seimei knows that something is up but he doesn't quite what is up. Only that Hibari is displaying a smoothness he hasn't seen. It's like he's become a whole different person. He's a little afraid of Hibari right now, however isn't inclined to show it at least facially. His tail flicks back and forth nervously.

"Well it's good that we've found each other but it's too late to spend the event together."

"I always have time for you, Seimei. But what have you been up to these past few days? If not with me, how has your time been spent?"

Hibari leaned against a bookcase, watching him.

"I've been searching for you all this time. We made a pact to spend time together" Seimei very slowly tries to get up.

"You always have time for me but you haven't wanted to see me in days, Kyouya. Did you forget what happened between us?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. If I've been looking for you for days, what makes you think I haven't wanted to see you? You're the one who's been hiding. Have you been hiding more than just yourself from me?" He leans down into Seimei's face while it's still at his level. "I'm not a patient man. You've kept me waiting. This had better be good."

"It's just...that night I almost killed myself. You attacked me and I..." He's suddenly sheepish. Seimei's ears flatten a little, he's blushing to be in such close proximity to Hibari.

"I'm not afraid of you and I still want you."

His voice shakes when he says this he's still quite obviously afraid. Seimei leans in to kiss Hibari but only centimeter away does he stop. The event has ended leaving Seimei in control of himself so close to Hibari. The sacrifice brushes his lips against Hibari's then tries to move away. He's still flushed but more from embarrassment than anything else.

"I hate this place."

Hibari is frozen enough in his own moment of awareness not to react to Seimei almost-kiss. He's red himself and stands up quickly, arms crossed over his chest, bangs obscuring his face. Oh... oh there are far too many things no one ever needs to mention again. On pain of death. He wipes at his lips, like he can brush the ghost of Seimei away.

After a few steadying breaths he leans his head back enough to peer through his bangs at Seimei. "I think this place was nice enough to not have us meet before now."

"Nice? I have no idea what you're talking about. You must be seeing another Wonderland."

He's not talking about the time spent away from Hibari merely the darkness of this place which is starting to get to him. Seimei looks away from Hibari and leans back into his chair, his ears oddly enough are up. He doesn't regret what he did after the event merely what was said during it.

"Nice as in I didn't end up molesting you. I think we can both agree that's nice enough as far as things go here."

He scowled slightly. Nn. It was not going to be pleasant seeing Tsuna again.

"So. Suicide? All part of the dramatic moment or an honest admission?"

"Molested....What have you been doing?"

Seimei looks at him for a moment then glares. He doesn't like the idea of how panicked he ended up during those moments in the bathroom. However after a few moments of silence he decides to simply admit it. Better now than if another event comes along to expose his lie.

"Given a choice I'd rather kill myself then give you or anyone the pleasure of doing me in.

"Let's leave it at me not having been up to anything good." And Ryohei.... oh god. "Not that it's really my fault."

He smirks a little at Seimei. "Are you often in situations where your own demise has been the optimal option? Have you killed yourself before?"

His ears go flat back. Seimei has no right to be disturbed by it but he is. His eyes are on Hibari's hands. If Hibari ever wanted to get a rise out of Seimei, he's gotten his wish in this moment.

"It's none of your business. I've told you this before how I survive or don't in this place is no longer any of your business."

"And I've told you your life is mine whether you like it or not. As these are contradictory, one of us is going to have to budge. I nominate you."

"You have no control over whether I want to die and I choose to kill myself. There is very little that you have control over and there are times when you aren't even you."

"Then let me put it to you another way. Seimei." Hibari leans over slightly, in his face once more. "I don't like herbivores. Weakness is not an attractive trait in anyone. And someone too weak to deal with their life is absolutely intolerable. If you are killed because of weakness I can forgive you. If you are killed by your own hand I will murder you with mine."

"I assume-" He can't finish the sentence because it's just not true. However he's just as willing to get close to Hibari's face. Seimei looks him dead in the eyes. "It's a way out when nothing else work. Next time say what you mean."

"I don't see how I can more plainly say it. I will kill you if you kill yourself. I will not consider you worth my time past a final act of discipline." He scowls and leans back on his heals. "And it is not a way out. Just because death works differently here does not mean it should be treated as any more of an option than in the normal world."

"I don't understand your attachment to the act because of that reason." Seimei smirks at him settles back in his chair more comfortably. "Are you or are you not a citizen of this place now? This is normal for you is it not? I'll take what you said into consideration."

Hibari scowls at him. Damnit, Seimei, you're impossible.

"I don't like quitters. It's not so difficult to understand."

He sits up on the table and looks around at some of the book shelves. He should get himself another book.

"What are your plans tomorrow?"

"To stay in my room and study after I check on Ritsuka in the morning." Seimei is quick to answer Hibari but he frowns a little when he actually considers why Hibari is asking. "Are you planning to see me then?"

"I'm planning on taking a book out to the checkerboard hills and reading for a while after lunch until I decide to take a nap out in the sun. So I'll probably be out there from noon till four."

"And if I happen to be there for some of that time?"

"Then maybe I'll join you and bring Dorine."

Seimei gets up, he should probably go. Ritsuka might need him now..depending on how badly the event had scared him. Seimei also wants to process whether or not he's done anything embarrassing that might be worth regretting now.

He hops off the table. Time to get a new book in that case since he plans to finish the other tonight.
