Interrogations with the Queen
Who: The Queen of Hearts [
onlyredroses] and her criminals (Alex [
40410], Canada [
unseen_maple], Jack Ryan [
kindly_done], Poland [
reckless_eagle], and Rachel [
dontrainonmy]
Where On the mirror side, in an isolated room.
When: Sunday the 18th to Monday the 19th. Time is funny like that.
Rating: PG/PG-13
Summary: Five innocent citizens of Wonderland have found themselves under arrest for really stupid things! What does the Queen have planned for them?
the Story:
Each of the criminals will find themselves in a room, upon their forced arrival into the mirror world. There is only one door, and it is locked. The only other exit is a mirror; however, they will not be able to travel through it. They will be able to look through it, however, and see what the left behind. If they're lucky, they may even get a glimpse of their mirror walking around where they belong.
There are two chairs, should they like a seat. They are on either side of a table, and on the table in each room is a large jar with a sealed lid. Aside from these items, there is nothing else in these rooms.
The queen will enter soon enough. It would be difficult to interrogate all of them at once, of course.

ALEX'S THREAD
All for me? You shouldn't have! <3
Alex freezes for a few horrible seconds. There are only two people who he knows can do that: the Operator and whoever brought him to Wonderland (and he's still not convinced those are different people). His watch doesn't show any lost time, at least. But he doesn't have his camera.
"Shit. Oh shit. Oh shit."
He looks around sharply, on the offchance that he dropped it - but no, it must still be in his room. He looks up at the mirror in time to see himself draping a towel across it on the other side, blocking the view.
Whatever the everloving fuck is going on, he needs to get out of here. And get his camera. Oh god, anything could've happened without his camera.
Until the Queen arrives, he'll be trying the door. And then trying to break the door. Things he freezes seem liable to shatter, so if he freezes the door and then kicks it - or whacks it with a chair - then surely that'll...
...have no useful effect?
<3
Just as suddenly as Alex was taken, the Queen appears in the room, behind him. She says little at first, allowing her presence and statement to fully sink in. She did not take the door, no that was far too risky for a queen when someone was attempting to destroy it. Instead, she had been able to travel along the mirrors, a secret route meant only for her.
"Inquisitiveness. Attempted destruction of property. ...Terrible hair." She glances at it as though his hair has done something horribly wrong. "...and perhaps a little ignorance. For good measure."
After all, it did not actually matter much at all what the charges were, so long as she could say he was guilty.

--doesn't fire it. He's never fired it at a human being (or apparent human being). There's a very distinct, very important line between freezing a creature that's attacking you and freezing a person who's talking to you.
He keeps his hand up, though, because she's obviously far from harmless. She must have transported him here, she appeared out of nowhere, and he's just waiting for her to become an immediate physical threat. He doesn't even know what to make of the list of crimes, but that's a less important question than:
"Where the hell am I?"
Alex's voice is as harsh as it was over the comm', and now it has the sharpness of fear as well.

"This is my domain," she said. "Well, all of Wonderland is my domain, but this is the place from which I rule."
She taps the glass of the mirror for emphasis. "This is the world beyond the looking glass, Alex Kralie."
She could easily just take what she wanted by force, but she opts not to. Instead she cordially invites him to sit, with a wave of her hand.

CANADA'S THREAD
Re: CANADA'S THREAD
"Is that....me? That's crazy. This whole place is insane."
Re: CANADA'S THREAD
What. Where did the Queen even come from? When Canada turned around though, there she was, standing by the table. She had not made a sound entering the room. With just a wave of her hand, she invited him to sit down.
"So, Canada," she began. She was an important woman with little time to waste, after all. "You are wanted for treason, treachery, treacle, and the theft of pancake ingredients. How do you plead?"
Not that it mattered how he pleaded. It was just what you were supposed to ask on such occasions.
Re: CANADA'S THREAD
"I'm sorry if I did anything to offend you, Your Majesty. I only arrived recently and I'm not really familiar with the laws here."
Politeness and deference were unlikely to work, but still worth a try.
Re: CANADA'S THREAD
She had not been expecting that, but it would make matters a lot easier in the long run if he admitted his guilt here and now. ...Well. Easier for her any way.
"Either you are or you aren't," she clarified. "Pick one, at once."

JACK RYAN'S THREAD
ohshi--
When the Queen arrives, she'll find him on hands and knees, with his nose to the baseboards, looking for a hidden passage, a grate, something, anything.
no subject
When she arrives, it is sudden and silent, as she is able to travel most quickly and quietly along the glass of the mirrors. The sight of her randomly selected criminal with his face on the floor is a more amusing site than she had expected to walk in on.
"Though, I suppose I should have expected such a thing, from our pure absurdist," she said. "Do take your seat, before you become filthy...er."
no subject
He raises his left hand, poised to snap, but...well, she doesn't attack him. She doesn't really look as if she's going to. With an effort, he stuffs the hand into his pocket instead and sits down, though he's tense nearly to trembling.
no subject
"You seem rather nervous, Jack Ryan," she said. "Perhaps you should not have committed a crime if you did not wish to face the consequences of your actions?"
His actions being, of course, having an absurd name consisting of two personal names. Admittedly, it was not her best of reasons, but it would do for her purposes.
Watch as Jack gets himself in even MORE trouble, derp
Good job, Jack. GOOD JOB.

Wrath is awesome. The Queen would know -all- about it.

POLAND'S THREAD
POLAND'S THREAD
Poland spent his time until the Queen arrived trying to open, unlock, or break the door, without any results to speak of besides growing more and more frustrated. He slung himself down sullenly into one of the chairs, with a little groan of "kurwa!"
Re: POLAND'S THREAD
"You've made yourself comfortable, I see?" the Queen said, teasing him and his unfortunate situation.
POLAND'S THREAD
"As if," he replied, glaring up at her. "This place is like, a total dive. Send me home, now!"
Re: POLAND'S THREAD
"As for your request, it is being denied, on the grounds that you are a criminal. We cannot have you running about anywhere until you have been properly dealt with."
Poland was no threat to her. She even elected to sit down opposite him at the table, folding her hands delicately on the table.

RACHEL'S THREAD
RACHEL'S THREAD
She looked around the room, arms folded over her chest in what may have been anger, or may have been insecurity. She wasn't looked in the mirror, but at the door, and definitely was not opting to sit in the chair.
Rachel stood there, silently, and realized she was really...thirsty.
Re: RACHEL'S THREAD
As with the others, she had snuck in silently through the glass of the mirror, fully intent on attempting to make Rachel jump for her own personal amusement.
"Why don't you sit?" she said. She walked slowly, with grace, around the table until she was at her own seat. "I can assure you it does not bite."
"Or perhaps I could get you something?" Her red lips curve a little more than they should at the offer. "You look a little thirsty, dear."
RACHEL'S THREAD
Re: RACHEL'S THREAD
"So, Rachel," she sighed and leaned on the table just a bit. "Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
