Where Tam's Clinic (Fourth Floor) to Seimei's room (8th Floor)
When: July 20th Afternoon
Rating: PG for possible cursing
Summary: Having their normal routine canceled due to random mischief, Hibari and Seimei change location and have a date.
the Story: Seimei looks up at the light fixture as it blinks on and off caused by something that he's not quite sure what is the cause of it. However whatever has done it. It is unsettling and a bit annoying. It might be time to move location if only to see if this is a minor thing, the problem of course might be convincing Hibari to come. Seimei puts down his book of plays.

"Let's have a date Kyouya."

"Hopefully the lights aren't malfunctioning in your place."

Hibari snagged his game just in case and started off towards Seimei's room with the sacrifice.

"If they're not then I think we'll manage just fine. I have candles and flashlights there. Hopefully something will work."

Seimei doesn't stay too close to Hibari while walking up the stairs. The problem with the lights fades as the they head upward.

However on the eighth floor as they make the long trek down the hallway, Seimei stops and stares at set of smiles grinning from under a table. He shudders as if one wasn't bad enough.

"That looks like the Major's smile."

"Floating dentures. Wonderland is just trying to be weird." Unimpressed Hibari was unimpressed. The Queen talked big but this was hardly teaching anyone anything with such theatrics.

Hibari helped himself to Seimei's room when they got there, looking around for the ball-o-hedgehog that was sure to be there. He'd only been in the room a few times before but he had it mapped out well enough in his mind.

"When is Wonderland not weird?" Seimei shrugs and follows Hibari inside.

The sacrifice's room design didn't change the way Hibari's did but the size of the space was far more accommodating than it had been in the past. As Seimei's paranoia lessened the space grew. He had stopped locking his door after the Major managed to make his way in to plant the bugs. No point in trying if it didn't keep out the worse.

Dorine sans ball comes out from her hiding place underneath Seimei's pillow. She makes her way to Hibari in a hurry and sits on his foot while licking her spines.

"Currently I have beef and chicken which would you prefer?"

"Either." He kneels down and gives Dorine a scratch before walking to find a place to sit, allowing Dorine to ride on his foot if she cares to. He sits when he can and relaxes on his elbows.

It's nice to not be in the clinic.

Dorine of course will ride! She is a small animal and Hibari is always kind even when Seimei is not. Seimei glares at the little hedgehog a little jealous.

"She's never that good for me."

He heads to the closet and gets out some tools in order to prepare dinner in front of Hibari. Tonight it's stir fry!

"Animals are good judges of character." He smirked just slightly, only teasing. He watched Seimei prepare to cook and relaxed even more with the odd, fuzzy feeling it brought. Let's go on a date in my bedroom was a rather dull idea but this was much more interesting and more private than the kitchen; just the way Hibari preferred these kinds of things. When Seimei was good, he was very good indeed.

"Are you suggesting that Dorine has better judgement than you? You like me."

The sacrifice smiles a little devilishly. It was nice to be confident again, Hubb's training, Ritsuka's antics, and Hibari's health kept Seimei focused less on the Major and more on life.

When the food was prepared Seimei placed it down in front of Hibari. The fiery chicken stir-fry is served with a bowl of noodles (that Seimei's mun clearly did not forget to add was cooking...along with tea) Last but not least chilled tea today, a rarity from Seimei as he's only offered scalding hot tea in the past.

Dorine nears the food but Seimei gently sets her off to the side.

"Well?"

"Maybe."

He watched Seimei cook, enjoying the smells quite a great deal. Once it was set in front of him it was hard not to simply dive in. He was hungrier than he realized and the treat of meals made specially for him was one he always looked forward to.

"Nn. Looks good."

He gets his chopsticks out. Yum >3

"I'm glad."

Satisfied that it meets approval of the other. Seimei serves himself and digs into the meal. A few minutes pass before he speaks again.

"Do you know Kyoko?"

Hibari looked up curiously from his food.

"Sasagawa Kyoko? Nn. She's Ryohei's sister. Why?"

"Nothing, Ritsuka and his sister are playing together. Ryohei seemed upset initially. I don't personally know her and Ryohei's opinion is going to be obviously bias. What is she like?"

Hibari shrugs. He's not in her year so most of his information is second hand. "She's a stubborn girl who worries about her brother and is considered the 2nd year class idol by some." He smirks a little. "Why? Considering hooking her up with your brother?"

Seimei looks at his food. "She is a more age appropriate choice and she's not a fighter...or a selfish vulgar idiot." He makes a face. "Soubi is complicated and annoying. It would be easier if he disappeared...especially after what I saw."

"I'm guessing whatever you saw would ruin my appetite. But I won't advise you in either direction. I don't play match maker; I'm not interested in the affairs of other people." Hibari happily munches on his food.

"I don't really want your advice, I just wanted to know what she was like. Ritsuka doesn't need more complications. I think she's a positive influence. It's been forever since he's been a child, a real child not one...who's been.." He struggles to think of a word to describe the Aoyagi household. "disturbed."

"Then she's nice and well liked by most of my students. Just never forget who she's related to." Hibari doesn't even want to picture Ritsuka and Kyoko together. Somehow that just makes Ritsuka seem closer.

"Things have been better between Ryohei and myself. I think the family event cleared some of the air between us. That and the medication makes some things more tolerable."

He shudders a little as he remembers the phlegm incident.

"You and Ryohei get along now? What exactly did you do during the family event?"

There's a very long pause as he tries to figure out what he means. The the ears go back and his eyes are very wide.

"Hibari. It's not like that. You were the only person I touched during that whole event. I talked to Ryohei about the fact that I didn't like him and I tried to teach him how to make origami kangaroos."

He's not sure which of those two is luckier that that's the extent of it.

"My eyes are on you Kyouya. I don't want your friend. He's far too..extreme."

"Nn... Events make people do crazy things." He pokes around at his food. "At least there is no animosity."

"I keep my word when I can." Seimei watches him. "Have you lost your taste for my food?"

Hibari shrugs and eats some more. "It's good. My mouth just gets tired of chewing it."

Truth? Aversion? Who knows.

"I'll take that into consideration next time. I've been meaning to ask you something that I've realized recently."

Seimei picks up his tea and takes a sip.

"Will you go out with me Kyouya?"

Hibari shrugged. "I'm out with you right now."

He makes a face and the ears are flattened. "You know what I meant."

Seimei sighs.

"I want to try again. I'm sure now more than ever. During the last event I spent my time trying to find you. I felt that it was my place to be there beside you when I found you. If someone asked me out today I wouldn't be able to accept because I would say that I have someone. There's no point in pretending it's not defined as such anymore. The same rules are in effect."

Hibari sat still for a minute then crossed his arms over his chest. "On the condition that things stay the same, I'll accept. I don't want to move back in together and I want as few people to know as possible. I just happen to agree that... our actions and intentions have been as thought we were together so it's reasonable to accept it."

He looked off to the side, looking perhaps as though he were searching for something to say that wasn't akin to a business venture rather than romantic interest. Instead he came back with, "And don't forget: you mess up on that scale again, I will kill you."

Somewhere between the lines there was an admission of affection but it would take a keen Hibari observer to track the thoughts that brought about the defensiveness.

"I haven't forgotten, Kyouya. I accept the terms of the title and the responsibility that comes with it."

Seimei smiles. Oh yes he's teasing you a little Hibari. The sacrifice can see Hibari's inner emotion far clear than he might have in the past.

The sacrifice leans over and tries placing a kiss on Hibari's forehead. Of course if the other reacts badly he will understand, that he may be pushing his luck a bit.

Hibari scowls slightly with the teasing but doesn't bat an eye at the kiss.

"Can I make an amendment for catering?"

"You'll have to bring it up with the committee which only meets every Thursday from 1 pm to 1:01 pm."

Seimei looks down and grabs Dorine before she can steal a snack. She hisses at him and struggles to get away a bit.

"Keep it up and I'm sticking you in the ball. This isn't good for you."

Hibari smirked and went back to his food. "That's why she ends up in your shoes."

He makes a face at Hibari.

"The only reason I put her in a ball is to keep her from the various pets in the mansion. She's walking meal with quills."

Seimei sets Dorine on his knee and tries to pet her. It's a marvel to him that he likes this little animal. She's self willed, disobedient, and if she hadn't been a gift from Ritsuka he wasn't sure if he would have kept her.

"It was a joke....Kind of."

Hibari shrugs. "Anyone who wants a piece of her will have a hard enough time. She's fine."

He finishes his mean and stretches out. "So. What do you make of the current situation?"

"I hope so. I don't want to loose her. Perhaps I should put you in a ball as well."

Seimei shrugs.

"I'm not entirely sure. The Queen has never been a personal focus of mine. The Major is a far larger concern. The only person I knew from those she punished was Jack."

"Put me in a ball and I'll bite you to death."

Hibari watches as Boushi pecks at his leftovers. Yeah, go ahead.

"None of the names really stuck out to me. I'm really not impressed with her skills in discipline."

Yeah, someone doesn't know the names of his victims.

"As if you would stay in it."

Seimei stares at Hibari. "Jack is one of the men you disciplined. The one with the wrench. He's actually a good person which is rather unfortunate."

"Oh. That Jack." He shrugs. Doesn't make too much of a difference. "Either way, I'm disappointed. Finally get to see the woman responsible for all this and she's.. tame."

"She is but perhaps there's a way to make her power someone else's. Assuming that we want her power of course."

"I don't care. I just want to be left alone by these things."

He looks at the ceiling. "Seimei. Does this make you happy?"

"It'll go away just like everything else. If it doesn't well learn to ignore it. The only permanent thing that's ever happened are the chess board hills."

The sacrifice watches him.

"It makes me happy. I had forgotten what it meant to be content. You remind me of things I lost and things I never thought would be mine. It would be easier if I could live without you. I love you."
