Who: Anyone and everyone!
Where: The beach
When: 12pm, April 27th
Rating: PG for now, just in case. I don't see it getting higher, but who knows.
Summary: Beach day for the residents!
The Story: Yesterday, you would have found the below posted in at least three places per floor. All the important places, plus a few shoved under doors where Feferi had spare or knew who was in said room:

For those who dislike images and/or trollspeak, it's an invitation to a beach gathering this afternoon. Which is where Feferi is right now. Not knowing much about human beach gatherings, she hasn't brought much with her other than herself, but who needs stuff when you have an overenthusiastic Sea Dweller, right?

So, bring forth anyone who would come along! Anything goes, let's just give our characters the chance to escape the mansion walls for a while and enjoy the beautiful outdoors!

Feferi watched as Akihiko demonstrated the castle-making process, grinning slightly as he mentioned the benefits of wet sand. After all, underwater all sand was wet, and thus apparently prime sand-hive material.

Shrugging at his comment about trolls, she replied, "I don't know, are we? I guess it all just seems normal to me. I think humans are pretty fascinating." Not that she knew very much about them. But she liked what she'd found out so far. Mostly.

Blinking slightly in confusion at his story about him and his sister, Feferi asked, "You keep sand in a box? Is it that special to humans?"

"There's a saying...'the grass is always greener on the other side', I guess. I don't mind answering your questions."

He soon had six sand pillars constructed in a rectangular frame. Slowly, this castle was coming together. "Well, since kids like to play in the sand, they make a space for it in a shallow box. That way you don't have to go all the way to the beach to play with it. So what do...'wrigglers' like to play with?"

Feferi gave him a confused look at his saying. "Grass? What does grass have to do with anything?"

She continued to watch him build, unable to deny that he had a fair grasp of structure, even by the standards of someone who'd had to build their own hive at an early age.

"I see. So it's like a mini beach that can go anywhere? I didn't realise humans liked sand that much."

At his question, she shrugged. "Wrigglers don't really play, at least from what I remember. I just remember pupating, and then the Trials...and then I was assigned Gl'bgolyb. I don't remember any playing until we surfaced and finished the hive."

"Uh, it means we both find each other's lives interesting, even though we both think of our own as normal."

He nodded. "Pretty much."

Trials? Assignments? Troll childhood sounded pretty rough. And they had to build a house on top of that. "Wow. Are those tests?" Perhaps it was like school for them? He could only try to find similarities to help him make sense of things. He did try to remember what she'd talked about during their previous conversations though. "That's your...lusus, right?"

"Oh. Okay. Though I don't see why the colour of our grass has an effect on us finding each other interesting. We're just open to different cultures." Which, given some of the trolls, was refreshing.

She shrugged at his question. "Of a kind. Only those grubs who survive the Trials get to surface. They're rather dangerous if you don't know what you're doing."

Nodding as he mentioned her lusus, she replied, "Yes, that's correct. We share a blood colour, which is what determines which trolls fall into the care of which lusus."

The more Akihiko hears about troll childhood, the more respect he has for them. But still, he continues to craft the little 'sand hive', building up walls to connect the pillars. He's done it so often, he doesn't even have to look down at what he's working on as he talks to Feferi. "Sounds like you've had a pretty exciting life so far. Hmm, maybe I should go down by the water to look for decorations." He chuckled a bit, pleased with his simple but standard-looking sand castle.

"It's been an adventure, it's true. But that's what makes life so exciting."

She can't stop the glub that escapes, even if she'd wanted to. Then, as he mentioned looking for decorations, her eyes widened with enthusiasm.

"I'll go! There are a lot of pretty things by the water's edge. Underwater, too. We can make the prettiest sand hive in all of Wonderland."

"Sure. I'll stick around in case someone decides it would be fun to smash it."

"Well that wouldn't be nice, but okay!"

And Feferi's off towards the water's edge in search of pretty things. She may be some time.

Which is perfectly okay with Akihiko. He looks out at the water and smiles a bit. He's a busy body, but sometimes he likes to sit back and take in peaceful surroundings like this. When he last went to the beach with his friends, it felt like they were on their feet the entire time. Part of that trip had been 'business' too.

Satisfied, he went back to working on the castle, trying to make ridges in the walls like the ones in storybooks.

After some considerable time, Feferi makes her way back to Akihiko, arms laiden with shells, seaweed, pretty much anything pretty she's found at the water's edge. There's a lot. Probably about five castles' worth. She lets her collection drop as she moves to sit on the sand, pulling it all back into a neat pile as she smiles at Akihiko.

"Do you think we have enough?"

Akihiko's jaw dropped when he saw the amount of shells, plants and stones Feferi brought back with her. They were all eye-catching and unique. He shouldn't have been surprised, though. They were in Wonderland. This was going to be quite the sand castle.

He wondered if maybe he should aim higher and make the castle more grandiose. "Wow, where did you find all of that? I was lucky if I could fill a small bag as a kid."

Feferi shrugged at his question, replying simply, "By the sea. Well, by, under...mostly under, if I'm being honest. The places no-one else thinks to look."

Mostly, of course, because no-one else save for Eridan, as far as she knew, happened to be a Sea Dweller.

"But we don't have to use it all. If there's anything left, I can always decorate my respiteblock with them."

"Your respi-oh." Her room, he assumed. He was starting to understand her lingo a little. "Alright. I was about to say, we could try to make it bigger." He really wanted to swim, though. So he was alright with a 'standard' castle.

He selected a few half shells that looked similar to each other, and carefully placed them in the sand castle walls. "I forgot how fun this was."

"No, I think it's fine as it is. Besides, we don't want to risk crossing into someone else's claimed area." That and Feferi wanted to get to the exciting bit that she could join in with: the decorating.

She smiled at his comment, carefully picking out some stones for the turrets. "It is rather fun. It's been a long time since I've had to construct, and I don't remember it being this much fun last time."

Akihiko placed a white feather in the center of the castle, acting as a sort of banner or flag. The stones and shells made the simple structure look much better. "Too bad I don't have a camera. but I guess I can come down here whenever I'd like and build another if I wanted to."

Feferi nodded. "Yes, it is a shame. But our next one will be even bigger and better and even more decorative."

Because in her mind, it wasn't even a question. They were an awesome sandhive team who would cover the entire beach given half a chance.

An enthusiastic Feferi, after all, can be a very dangerous thing.

"Yeah, we could do it again sometime." Akihiko smiled. It was an excuse to go outside again. He didn't like being cooped up inside the mansion. He didn't mind Feferi's company at all, either. She wasn't like the girls at school who hung all over him, squealed, and asked weird questions.

"I'd like that."

Feferi had to admit, she couldn't understand the animosity certain fellow trolls held towards the humans if Akihiko was anything to go off. She had, after all, been the first to suggest helping the kids they'd begun trolling rather than antagonising them. And she was very much looking forward to continuing her friendship with him if at all possible.

"Looks good." Akihiko got up off the ground and carefully dusted the sand off of his shorts. They had a rather handsome looking sand castle, and plenty of decor left over for Feferi to take back to the mansion after the trip was over. "You can leave your shells here with my things until you're ready to go. I want to do some swimming before it's time to leave."

Feferi gave their sandhive a final once-over before also standing. "Thank you, I would appreciate that. Since I don't have my own claimed area."

Well, technically she does but it's the sea and she doesn't want to lose her shells and stones.

"Well of course. We can't ignore the best part of the beach."

He smiled. "Next time you can claim our spot. Up for a swim?" Well, another in her case. He pulled off his t-shirt and shorts, then grabbed up his goggles from the backpack.

Feferi grinned. "Always."

She waited for Akihiko to get ready before skipping her way down towards the sea. The sandhive had been fun, but nothing beat time spent in the water as far as Feferi was concerned.
