Crash landing is the only way to make an entrance.

Who: Tony Stark, and anyone who comes across him.
Where: Somewhere on the front lawns.
When: July 2
Rating: G most likely
Summary: Tony arrives.

[Tony remembers hitting the ground, he also remembers JARVIS trying to tell him something was interfering with the suit. Everything between these two events are hazy]

...JARVIS?

Sir?

Where are we? And how did something manage to down the suit without touching it?

I am unable to pin point our location, sir. There is no data on what caused the suit to fail. Apart from superficial scratches, it seems that the thrusters are currently offline
.

Well fix it, JARVIS.

It seems to be wiring damage, there's nothing I can do, sir.

Good thing we're on the ground then.

[Tony sits up on his elbows and looks around the area, seeing a building not too far away, then he slowly gets up. Opening his mask and looking down at the scratches]

When we get back to the tower, I really need to work on a paint that's harder to scratch off.

Keeping focused on the priorities, like always, sir.

Just focus on finding out where we are, JARVIS.

It may take some time.

I don't care, do it.

At once, sir.

O-Oh, I'm-

[What exactly do you say to that? It's terrible news, really, and Evelyn isn't sure if she's tread too far into his own business.]

I'm so sorry to hear that. But that's helping? Did you make it yourself?

[Talk about a scientific genius right here.]
libraritology: (They were never heard from again.)

[An arc reactor doesn't sound familiar at all, but she understands shrapnel. She lived through the Great War. Basically, it sounds like a giant, shiny, magnet is sitting in his chest and keeping him from dying horribly.

Evelyn is rather stunned by all the scientific jargon, though, and she leans in with interest.
]

You discovered a new element?

[Even to someone interested in history, that's...that's a big deal, isn't it? She's suitably impressed.]
libraritology: (I absolutely adore this story.)

That's-

[Insane. Ridiculous. Astonishing.]

-remarkable.

[Her knowledge of science is quite limited thanks to her era, but she finds the practise fascinating in and of itself. True proficients in it are even more impressive.]

And you just...invent things for a living? Go out and save the world when it needs saving?
libraritology: (You silly thing.)

You have a startling résumé.

[She would volunteer information regarding herself, but the latest stuff is all rather boring, you know, mummies coming back to life and threatening the world with destruction, et cetera. Pity they don't have any "superheroes" in her time.

Maybe she'll set about brewing some tea after all.

Or maybe she'll rest her chin in her hands and marvel (no pun intended) at him.
]

Is your time as fraught with peril as you seem to imply, or are you exaggerating for the sake of being impressive?
libraritology: (What was it?)

This suit?

[The red and gold is certainly a gaudy colour scheme. Wouldn't that make him a prime target in the midst of battle?

...or perhaps it simply matches his personality.
]

You're a regular person under all that, after all?

[A teasing grin.]
libraritology: (Jackpot.)

I'm afraid you'll have to do a bit more than wave around your futuristic technology to awe me, Mister Stark.

[The formality drags itself back out with prim and proper English vengeance, but she still appears to be joking around.

Sort of.

After all, bringing a man back from the dead and causing a chain reaction that intends to kickstart the apocalypse in Egypt with Moses' plagues tends to put things rather in perspective for someone who used to think finding an old book was exciting.

She slides off the barstool and smiles fetchingly.
]

Shall I leave the bottle for you, then, before returning to my research?
libraritology: (You silly thing.)

I look forward to it.

[Complete honesty, right there. Evelyn is rather excited that so many people from the future are showing up with all their gadgets...she may not understand them, but they're fascinating to learn about.]

Until the next time, Tony?

[She makes to leave, in a much more amiable mood than she was in before she met him.]
