Summary: Everyone is stuck with their memories. And some other people.
The Story:
This log's pretty straightforward. There is one thread per group for the first day or two of the event, before people are able to leave their initial dream bubble groupings. ♥ If you have any questions, grab a mod on AIM.

EDIT: The mods have decided to let everyone continue with phase two of the event in this one log, since there's overlap between being stuck in the bubbles and moving between them.

So if you're posting to a group thread that isn't your initial group, just your thread with what day of the event it takes place on so people will know it's not from the first day or so.

"I'm not sure."

Minato also didn't know how he ended up in this place along with Kazuki. He looked around and it didn't seem to be so dangerous.

"Have you been here alone?"

"Uh, yeah,"

He looks back out over the horizon. He shakes his head.

"Usually everyone's leaving the music building by now, so..."

"But that music isn't from you." It had to be from somewhere else within the scene.

"Oh, no way!"

Kazuki shakes his head more energetically this time, then quickly kips over to a bench, where a leather case is sitting. He opens it and shows Minato a rather handsome silver trumpet.

"I play the trumpet! Here, see? That violin has to be Kaho-chan."

Minato smiled, nodding a bit in acknowledgement when he saw the instrument. It was really nice, shone in the light, and it was obvious it was cared for very well.

"I didn't know you played."

But Minato was glad to know now.

"I play! The trumpet is like, my number one favorite thing ever! I worked my butt off studying so I could get into this school and learn it for real!"

Without even asking, Kazuki is taking out his mouthpiece and rubbing it down with a soft cloth, intending to play. He never turned down an audience. In fact, he made audiences, whether they liked it or not.

"Do you have any requests? If I know the tune I can give it a shot!"

"Whatever your favorite song is."

Minato didn't have any exact preference. As long as he could hear the music, then that was enough, especially if the one playing it was so passionate about it. Not to mention being surprised would be good too. But then again, he didn't know if his own request was too hard to fill or was too troublesome; some people didn't have favorites or had too many of them.

"Wow, that's tough..."

Kazuki puts his head down in thought as he fits his mouthpiece onto his trumpet. He's really thinking about it, something lively, something strong, but... He still hears that intoxicating violin. It always captures his senses. When he came to her, his heart didn't stand a chance.

As the music repeats itself, he waits for just the right opening, and joins in. After hearing it for so long, the melody has sunk into his skin. He couldn't hope to match her passion, but maybe if he did this, he could feel a little bit closer.

Minato took a deep breath in, the only audible sound he made against the sound of the trumpet. It wasn't like his usual taste in music, though his taste was rather eclectic in itself, but he liked it. He liked the feeling behind it.

It was so in tune with the violin.

Minato smiled as he listened to the performance, thankful too that even during this event--it had to be an event--even if it was only temporary, they could catch their breaths and relax. Kazuki was brilliant, needless to say. Somehow he made the moment even more peaceful and serene.

Kazuki plays with the musician in the distance for a full two rotations of the melody, about five minutes. It's actually difficult for him to play gently-- his usual method is to play loudly and exuberantly-- but it feels good, in a way. Cathartic to his melancholy. If one could call it that.

He lowers the trumpet from his lips and takes a deep breath. Oh how he misses his home.

Minato smiled again, but this time to show his gratitude and in place of applause for the performance.

"You're really good."

Which was actually quite the understatement. How amazing was it that someone could have the gift of expressing themselves through music?

"You practiced with your friend Kaho-chan often?"

"Thank you!"

Kazuki turns around and bows with a broad smile on his face. Direct compliments always make him happy! And blush, a little.

"I'd like to, but, um... It's not that often that the violin and trumpet work together. There've been a few special occasions, but other than that..."

Either Ryoutaro, or more likely, Len. What a bummer.

Minato considered the combination of instruments. It had sounded nice to him before, that violin accompanying the trumpet.

"... We can try it some time, if you want. You're better at trumpet than I am at violin though."

"Oh! You play?"

This brightens up Kazuki immensely. He takes a few eager steps towards Minato.

"That's great! I haven't had anybody to play with here; it's no fun at all! I don't know how I'd survive!"

Minato nodded. He practiced, but it was always nice to practice with someone else.

"A good friend of mine plays trumpet too. You should join us some time."

He thought of something else.

"... We practice in the Music Room."
