Summary: Everyone is stuck with their memories. And some other people.
The Story:
This log's pretty straightforward. There is one thread per group for the first day or two of the event, before people are able to leave their initial dream bubble groupings. ♥ If you have any questions, grab a mod on AIM.

EDIT: The mods have decided to let everyone continue with phase two of the event in this one log, since there's overlap between being stuck in the bubbles and moving between them.

So if you're posting to a group thread that isn't your initial group, just your thread with what day of the event it takes place on so people will know it's not from the first day or so.

"You've helped me."

George looks at him. "When?"

[eatsyourscience]

"When I died."

[akapeanut]

George goes quiet and looks away. "Didn't think you'd remember that."

She fidgets with her shirt for a moment. "I don't know if it balances out."

"It does to me."

[akapeanut]

George closes her eyes. "Should I tell people what I am?"

[eatsyourscience]

"It's up to you. I think it'd be hard to."

He shifts and looks up at the ceiling.

"I don't usually tell people what I am unless I have to."

George thinks for a moment.

"Either I don't say anything and people think I'm hiding something and accuse me of lying if it comes out, or I say something and everyone assumes I'm killing people." She hesitates, continues, "I don't know, it seems pretty fucked either way."

He considers for a minute. "...There's a difference between not volunteering something and hiding something."

"Do you think everyone would agree that's true?" She isn't even sure if it's true, herself.

[eatsyourscience]

"You didn't know about my powers until I showed you. Did you think I'd been hiding it?"

[akapeanut]

"But in your case it was-- it was more like you were being modest."

[eatsyourscience]

"My powers can kill people just as much as yours can."

[akapeanut]

"That's not their purpose, though."

[eatsyourscience]

"The people you 'kill' would die anyway, wouldn't they?"

[akapeanut]

George hesitates. "Yes. But they'd feel every bit of it. And they'd be trapped."

Pause.

"Not that anyone would, you know, wait to let me explain that."

[eatsyourscience]

"Maybe not. But it just means that what you do is necessary. It's merciful."

[akapeanut]

"I don't think everyone would agree on that..."

[eatsyourscience]

"That isn't your fault."

[akapeanut]

George bites her lip. Releases it.

"What if someone tries to kill me?"

[eatsyourscience]

"Don't let them."

[akapeanut]

She snorts.

"My powers don't really work that way." Pause. "At least, I don't think they do."

[eatsyourscience]

"Then call for me."

[akapeanut]

"And drag you into that?"

[eatsyourscience]

"It's not like that."
