Whether he does damage depends on what he's removing. If it's just the limbs, no damage although putting them back on Ed will hurt like a bitch. The ports on the other hand, not going anywhere.

Ed stays out of it for awhile longer although Whale may not have time to draw the leg too before Ed wakes up.
