Rating: anything from Teletubbies to Game of Thrones
Summary:
As announced this will be a catch-all post for shorter scenes, commercials, or things you simply don't want to make an entry for.
Over the course of the event, everyone will be forced to act out various stereotypical roles and common tropes. The setting immediately around them will change randomly into settings from cliche popular media, complete with mediocre side-character NPCs who will never break character. It will become clear very quickly that they are expected to act out a particular role in the scene. They might be expected to be a tough cop, or a handsome sexy doctor, or someone’s evil twin come back from the dead, or any number of terrible tropes – and these tropes do not necessarily have anything to do with who the character is or what they do for a living. They could be the most innocent person and suddenly find themselves forced into the role of a hardened criminal.

- If you want to involve your character in anything and everything, leave a blank comment with them and see what others drag them into! Other characters will respond and set a random scene for the two (or three or seven) of you.
- If you only have one particular thing in mind then set it up in a comment and wait for replies of anybody who wants to play along with the idea and stumble into that scene in their next response (or mark the thread CLOSED if you already have participants in mind)!

Then again, she's never really considered how many innocents her husband has probably killed as well. People just doing their job. Fighting on the wrong side in the heat of battle, trapped in a war and drafted into the military.
God, she hopes her son never has to see the draft.
"You did what you had to do," Evelyn insists firmly, sitting with her hands in her lap, not quite realising that she's supposed to buckle herself in properly (what are automobile safety standards in 1935, anyways?).
"That's all there is to it."

She glances over at Evelyn and smiles ruefully, nodding her head. "I suppose so, yeah." It's years past at this point, so she really shouldn't be dwelling, but when asked a question like that, she can hardly help herself. "Thank you."
She turns the keys in the ignition and the car rumbles to life, at which point Martha pulls on her own seatbelt. "Make sure you buckle up, yeah?" She demonstrates for Evelyn, remembering that they likely don't have them in her time.
Opening up the file they've brought along with them, Martha studies the map before nodding and then putting the car into reverse, backing it up until she can turn herself around and speed out of the car park. "Would you mind being my navigator?"

"Buckle u- Oh!"
She fumbles for a moment with the strap before securing it across herself in snapping it into place, feeling much more restricted and wondering if it's altogether essential to the driving experience. Imagining that modern automobiles reach greater speeds, she might as well count the strap as a blessing.
"Not at all, let me...see..."
Taking the folder, Evelyn chews her lip and frowns over the diagrams and maps for a moment before waving her hand arbitrarily at the windshield.
"Erm. We need to...follow the main street, ah...it's Sampson Street...for about four blocks. Take a left onto Westminster."

Even if this is all make-believe, it still gives Martha an idea of how adaptable Evelyn is. Wonderland must have something to do with that, as it more or less teaches everyone how to accept any surprises thrown their way.
Martha nods and starts driving as Evelyn's instructed her, keeping an eye out on the streets, though she doesn't see much out of the ordinary.
"... This is surreal, isn't it," she says after a stretch of silence. "I don't think I'll ever be able to predict what Wonderland comes up with next."

"Surreal sounds about right," Evie prods at her sheet of paper. "But predicting things is too much trouble - for us, I mean. There's absolutely no telling what a sentient house will do to you if you start poking around."
...by no means does Evelyn not 'poke around,' though - she's far too curious an individual for that.
"The only thing I can really dislike about this place is what it does to people."

She makes the turns as Evelyn instructed her, and it seems like it won't be a long drive after all. That makes sense, though -- in telly programs, the car trip is always rather short unless there's some meaningful conversation taking place during it.
What Evelyn says gives Martha pause, though. "Other than that, you don't mind it here? Is that what you mean?" It's something Martha has to evaluate for herself because she dislikes Wonderland on principle for the fact that it takes people away from their home and holds them prisoner.
If it needs them for something, wouldn't it make more sense to ask? But if it truly is the building itself that's responsible, then it may have no way to ask.

"I used to mind it less, but now I've a great deal more to lose if I leave."
She leaves it at that, not exactly keen on sharing much when they're supposed to be 'on a mission.'

But it's difficult for her to just leave it at that, even when keeping the mission in mind. She glances over at the map to make sure she doesn't miss her turn, but then looks at Evelyn directly.
"How so? Because of the people you've met here?" It's not as if none of this matters, so Martha can understand that. But this is just some detour in their lives, and she doesn't think it can last forever.

"...back home, it- I was in a very stressful, difficult situation. Unsure if it was something I or my family would even survive. Lives in danger, it- it was a total bloody disaster."

But she can hardly ignore this now that Evelyn's brought it up. She'd been very open with her when they spoke the first time, so she doesn't think there's any harm in asking. "Another horde of undead unleashed from a tomb? What happened?" She takes the turn and they stop in front of a run-down apartment building. She stops right in front of it and then puts the car into park.

"Do you remember that mummy I told you about?"
She doesn't wait for an affirmation.
"Someone's discovered out a way to bring him back, so...he's here. Wreaking havoc. He-" she pauses, taking a deep breath. "He kidnapped my son."

Of course, Evelyn's son being a part of the mix makes it far, far more personal, and Martha has to hold back a gasp. There seem to be a number of mothers here, though Martha hadn't realized that Evelyn was one of them. Then again, is it that surprising? Seeing how she's a married woman and all.
"Did you get him back? Or... were you in the middle of all that?" If Evelyn's son wasn't safe, Martha can only imagine she'd be chomping at the bit to get back to it and see to it that he's safe, but she also isn't going to make any assumptions.
She locks the car and drops the keys into her jacket pocket, waiting for Evelyn's response before she goes anywhere.
