Summary: Soubi and Ritsuka finally find eachother.
the Story:

Ritsuka had left the confines of the small room he had found while wandering the hallways. Many of the rooms that he tried to enter were locked, which made him even more confused. He wondered where he was and if his friends were here too. It wasn't until later in the day he had contact with Soubi and that was only through the computer found in the room.

He didn't quite know if he was really talking to Soubi on the other end or not. Upon waking, he had realized the phone on the end of his lanyard had broken off. Did that mean they weren't connected anymore? Ritsuka opened the door to a large courtyard, the same courtyard he had woken up in. Oddly enough, he didn't know how he got here. The mansion was vast and it was easy to lose ones way.

It felt like he'd not stopped moving since he'd set foot in this unknown place. First he'd wandered aimlessly trying to find something, or someone, that would hell him where he was. He'd stumbled upon something that had looked a lot like a library, there he'd accessed a computer in the hopes of finding answers. It had been something of a shock to him to have come into contact with Ritsuka, but it had also been a joy. A familiar face in the strangeness that surrounded him. The only problem was... how to find him?

That was what lead Soubi on his little tour of the mansion and it's surroundings. Jogging from one end of gardens to the others, wandering though what felt like miles of hallways and corridors. It was starting to feel hopeless, his steps where slowing down even as he walked back out into the sunlight...

Ritsuka stopped in the middle of the courtyard to look up at the sky. The clouds were moving quickly, painting streaks of white across the sky. Fingers twirled around the lanyard subconciously and before Ritsuka could stop himself he was reaching for the cell phone that wasn't there.

Soubi..you said you'd find me..

Absentmindedly a hand lifted and fingers where run through his hair quickly, pushing the locks away from his face as he strode out into the open. The calm he usually wore around him like a second coat was starting to wear thin after hours of searching to no avail. He'd already broken promises to Ritsuka, he swore he'd not break this one. But as the minutes ticked by, Soubi was becoming increasingly aware that he might break this one too... and it irritated him.

As we walked he started to search his pockets. Patting them down before reaching in to pull out a packet of Seven Star. He idly wondered if he'd be able to find a supply of more soon... he was quickly running low. The cigarette was lit as he entered a part of the gardens he'd already been through, a courtyard. He was heading towards the opposite end, he'd yet to search there...

Before long Ritsuka began searching the bushes again where he had woken up. Perhaps his phone had gotten misplaced..but what if it wasn't? Maybe the cell phone had been left behind..

The more Ritsuka began to delve into the possibilities, the more useless the search became. Even down on hands and knees, fingers raking through the leaves of the bushes- it was still no where to be found. He remembered why he had given up before..it just wasn't there.

A rusting in the bushes to his left gave Soubi pause. Hand and cigarette where lowered to his side as he took a cautious step towards the bush... but stopped. It flashed in his mind that he was being ridiculous. It was probably a rabbit or some form of woodland creature. And he'd look like a total fool to creeping up on some poor innocent animal. Finding himself in an unknown place and losing Ritsuka were doing strange things to his mind. Trying not to laugh at his stupidity, he stepped around the bush... and once again stopped. His lips twitched, a smile trying to form at the sight before him. It was such a temptation to sneak up on him... but he remembered the worried tone to his conversation earlier with the boy, so quickly set that idea aside.

"... Ritsuka?" he called as gently as he could, hoping not to scare him enough that he'd get angry.

Ritsuka's ears perked up when he heard his name being spoken. Not only that, but the familiar voice had caught him off guard. Standing up quickly, he stumbled out of the bushes, catching his step before falling over himself. "S-soubi," eyes widened when he saw the man before him. Held held his hands behind his back, trying to pull the long sleeves of his shirt over his soiled fingers and palms of his hands. He didn't want Soubi asking what he was doing in the bushes.

"What are you doing out here?" The question was that of a demanding tone. Even though he had asked Soubi to come find him, he didn't expect Soubi to catch him off guard like that. Not only that..but what was he going to tell Soubi if he asked about the missing phone.

His relief at having finally found Ritsuka was quickly replaced by a sort of confusion. Before he could stop it, that confusion had past across his expression in the form of a small frown. He'd half expected Ritska to have been happy to see him, but maybe he'd just let his imagination paint the wrong kind of picture for him.

Soubi was quick to recover though. Smiling he bent to deliver a quick kiss to the boys cheek and then stood back up just as quickly, knowing from experience his kisses where not always welcomed. But he'd never been able to resist.

"I came for you like I promised." he answered with a wider smile that before.

"Get off me!" Ritsuka yelled, backing away from Soubi when he gave him a kiss on the cheek. Rubbing his cheek with a free hand, Ritsuka had forgotten about the dirt on his hands which only caused the dirt to rub onto his cheek.

Soubi always did that, whenever Ritsuka least expected him too. He should have been used to it by now, but he wasn't.

Not looking the least bit apologetic, Soubi watched with a curious eye as Ritsuka smeared dirt all across his cheek. It looked like the boys hands where covered in dirt and grime he'd not noticed at first. Now he had, Soubi couldn't help looking around and wondering what exactly Ritsuka had been doing before he'd found him. It didn't take him long to spot the disturbed dirt and leaves not far from Ritsuka's position.

He opened his mouth to say something... but closed it a second later, rethinking what he'd been about to ask. It wasn't every day he found Ritsuka rummaging around in the mud, nor did that explain why that fact had been hidden from him.

Reaching out a hand, Soubi's fingers hovered for a second or two next to Ritsuka's dirty ones, bringing the boys attention to them.

"I interrupted you... What where you doing, Ritsuka?"

"Nothing." Feeling as if he had been caught red-handed, Ritsuka look down at the ground and surronding bushes around him. "Why did it take you so long to come?" He said more to himself than to Soubi. Did Soubi try and contact him through the cell phone? If he had, then it would be Ritsuka's fault for taking so long to be found.

"This... place... " there was a small sigh from him as he turned to look up at the mansion for a moment. Part of him had almost started to believe the mansion had been deliberately stopping him from getting to Ritsuka. It was stupid, he knew that. But he couldn't shake that feeling. He shook his head and looked back down at Ritsuka with a warm smile curving his lips. "... is very big. I searched everywhere... this is the second time I've searched out here. It was pure luck... that I finally found you."

Ritsuka watched Soubi with solemn eyes as he looked over to the mansion. Ritsuka had his own suspicions about the mansion and the people he had talked to through the computer only made those suspicions grow. One woman he had even spoken to claimed that she helped animals and thought Ritsuka was a Cat. Another man had told him he was from the soul society. Ritsuka wondered if that was anything like Seven Moons.

"I don't remember how I got here. I didn't think it was really you.." A small blush brushed across Ritsuka's cheeks. He was glad Soubi was here with him and that he wasn't alone.

"I'm finding it hard to remember too... I suspect the answer won't be easy to find." Soubi murmured almost to himself, his eyes taking on a faraway look for a brief moment, before he seemed to shake himself back to reality and smile. "I'm happy you know it's me now."

Ritsuka's eyes trailed away from Soubi. Unanswered questions only brought more questions to Ritsuka's mind. He debated on whether to tell Soubi of the Heartless he saw and what the girl had told him about it. He wanted to tell Soubi about what he had talked about with the detective who called himself L. His focus what elsewhere as was his mind.
