the Story:

"Is it really this hard to find a bowl?" Kairi questioned as her pale hands moved haphazardly in one of the cabinets. She pushed aside plates, strainers, and pots which clashed together making it seem as if a loud ruckus was going on in the kitchen.

"Mann...." She sighed and rose off her knees to a stand. The redhead slammed the cabinet shut with contempt and leaned on the countertop with her elbows propped up and her chin in the palm of one of her hands. "I was hoping to bake a cake for Ritsuka while we were in here..." She mumbled and scanned the room for another idea.

"Let's check the fridge." Kairi wandered over to the tin box filled with frozen and cold goods, opened the door and poked her head inside. Her eyes searched around. "Maybe a fruit salad...hmm." Well if one thing was for sure, Kairi wanted to create a dish for her new friend to welcome him, whether she could find something or not.

Ritsuka had to ask around to find the kitchen. Even after he had asked numerous people in the mansion, he still managed to get lost a few times and make a few wrong turns. He did, however, find the kitchen.

"This place is so big.." Ristuka said quietly to himself as he entered the kitchen. He saw a girl rustling through cabinets and then the refrigerator. He walked up to her. "Are you Kairi?" Ritsuka wasn't very good at introductions and he was still new to making friends.

"I am." Ritsuka gave Kairi a small smile back. She sort of reminded him of Yuiko, but less eccentric. He looked at Kairi's hand before realizing that he should shake it. Extending his own he shook her hand. "Yea," it was nice to know she existed. "What were you looking for?"

Ritsuka put a hand on his stomach. His ears drooped when his stomach gave a low growl. He hadn't eaten since he got here because he couldn't find the kitchen. "I am. That's nice of you..I can help though if you want."

Ritsuka began to search for pots and pans to cook in as well as some utensils. Everything was out of place in the kitchen. He found a knife in a cabinet and a small bowl in a drawer. No one ever really asked Ritsuka what he wanted to eat. "I guess..whatever you want." He brought the bowls and knife he found and set them on the counter beside the fridge.

Ritsuka started to wash the salad greens carefully before drying them off with a towel he found. "That sounds good, I've never had breadsticks before.." Ritsuka watched Kairi begin working on the rest of the dinner, he gave her a smile. He was beginning to feel welcomed at the mansion. Even if he would only just make one or two friends here, he would be content with that.

After washing the greens, he began to cut slices of tomato to put ontop of the salad. "Do you cook alot for your friends back home?" Ritsuka was even feeling more talkative today.

Ritsuka never cooked before, so once he was done with the salad he decided to set the table. Oddly enough, while Ritsuka was thinking of setting the table, the plates, glasses, and silverware appeared on their own. Ritsuka's eyes widened. He had never seen anything like this before. He bent down and looked under the table, he even ran a hand across the bottom of it. "Kairi..what's wrong with the table?"

He looked over at the girl who was cooking up a storm. In a way, he was reminded of that day Yuiko invited him and Soubi over to her house and Soubi made them food. It was the best food Ritsuka ever tasted. A small frown matched the discomfort he was feeling when he thought of Soubi and if he was ever going to find him.
