AIM LOG [Complete]
Who:
missichihara (Yuuko) &
x_yuki_eiri (Eiri)
Where Yuuko's room.
When: Tonight.
Rating: PG
Summary: Eiri brings back the box Yuuko left inside the pocket of the suit jacket provided for him on his and Shu's 'date' together. He gets much more than he bargained for when Yuuko asks him a simple question.
the Story:
She was reading today, war and peace for the sole act of reading it once again. Yuuko was a quiet sort of woman when she was bording, and Eiri had caused her to brood ever so much.
Once again, Eiri found himself at the foot of her door. He told himself he wasn't going to go back, but here he was. His feet had carried him here. He never bothered to knock anymore. He turned the handle and walked inside noticing that Yuuko was reading. That was something new. "You were expecting me?"
"I am always expecting." She replied simply, not putting down the book.
Eiri took the seat across from her. "Aren't very talkative today." Eiri expect her to talk his ear off this time as she usually did.
She closed the book, laying it down beside her. "One can speak in many ways." SHe replied, standing and crossing to the table in the center of the room. It was a simple bedroom today, nothing changed from the way that it usually was.
Eiri reached his hand inside his pocket, instead of pulling cigarettes out, he pulled out the box that was left inside his suit jacket. He placed it on the table. He hadn't opened it, only the scroll which was attached to it like it had been before he removed it.
She raised a brow. "I have no need of such trinkets and I do not take back what has already been freely given."
"I dont accept gifts that I should purchase on my own volition." He stated simply.
"Is that so?" Really, should he wish to purchase them then the ability was there.
He looked up at her with a raised eyebrow, "Didn't I just say so?" He didn't want the box. He wouldn't know what to do with it or even how to approach such a matter.
"Do you wish to marry him?" She asked simply.
Eiri nearly choked on his own salvia which forced him to let out a heavy cough. His cheeks had turned a faint red color that wasn't noticable unless one looked hard because it was only for a mere second or two. "Take the box back," He wasn't going to answer her question.
"Answer the question."
He shot a cold glare at her. "The tea was dissapointing," He stood up and headed for the door. He decided it was better to ignore what she was saying entirely.
"Once again you are running away."
Eiri had his hand on the door handle and had given it a twist when she had spoken. Opening it slightly, he hestitated for a moment. "And once again you are assuming."
"Am I?" She was musing, more so then usual. "I am pointing out that you haven't answerd the question and are leaving because a question was asked that you do not wish to answer. You miss him, and yet you will not answer such a simple question."
Eiri clenched his jaw tight, his teeth gritted against eachother. "Fine, just give me the damn box. I'll take it back and keep it somewhere I'll forget about."
How, interesting. "And yet, even though you miss him, you will not speak of him. Are you afraid that speaking of him will be concidered a weakness?"
It wasn't that. He had even told reporters that he and Shuichi were lovers. Perhaps he had done that so the reporters would shut up and leave him and Shuichi alone or just to shut Shuichi up..but truly, he had a hard time committing to someone- especially another man. It bothered him when people like Yuuko didn't mind their own business and tried to force the situation however helpful they may think to be. "My weakness lies six feet under. It holds no true value now."
"We are all weak for the one we love." She mused with a bit of a laugh. It held true for him and it held true for her still.
"You're one to talk." Eiri rolled his eyes, although she wouldn't be able to see him since his back was turned to her. Wasn't he going to leave. Dammit. She always sidetracked him.
"IS that so?"
"Why are you so interested anyway, Yuuko?" He turned around and rested against the open door.
"Because you are interesting."
"Then you don't get out much." Eiri didn't find himself interesting. He was a writer. Big deal. He didn't do anything fascinating besides write novels and even that was stretching it. He never considered his novels to be all too interesting either, he was just talented at writing them.
"Perhaps that is so, and perhaps not." Eiri was one that did not see his own value in this world, or the next. Much like young Watanuki-kun he was the sort of man who would not think of himself.
"And perhaps youre giving me a headache or a migrane." Eiri finally opened the door widely. "Goodbye Yuuko." He debated on grabbing the box before he left but that would only prove Yuuko was right. Instead he would spare any dignity he had left and walked out.
But the box would show up in his room anyway.
