Lucien and Elphaba [ Incomplete, ongoing ]
Who // Elphie and Lucien
When // After the meeting with Xemnas
Where // Elphie's room
Summary // Elphie asks Lucien for his services
Rating // PG 13-ish
Elphaba slid down her door. That man, Xemnas, had some nerve. Coming to her room, demanding for her to leave the Organization alone. She was furious. She was upset. Clearly she wasn't thinking clearly, setting the man's pant leg on fire. She was so obvious about it. Of course it didn't help that he was an unwelcome guest making threats on her life. She knew that Vexen told her that it wasn't good to act on her emotions. She shook her head and sighed.
Suddenly, she remembered a post Lucien made. Normally she didn't like to get involved in such brash acts, but this was serious. She could make things worse by attempting to harm Xemnas, or anyone from the Organization. She also knew that if anything were to happen, she would be prime suspect. No. She simply needed an eye. She wondered if spying would be apart of Lucien's services.
Upon responding to Luciens' post. She waited for him to come.

Could one murder the dead?
He supposed not, but perhaps he would just have to become far more creative in his profession. His thoughtful procession was ended when he arrived to her door, and he knocked slowly, purposefully. Lucien Lachance did nothing hesitantly.

"Hello Lucien." she said evenly. It wasn't one of her finer moments. Her hair was disheveled, her face seemed tired, old even.
"Come in."

He was amazed at how...lovely she looked, if not haggard. However, he was never one to mix work and amusement. He was far too professional for that.
"How may I help you?" he questioned, nodding his head in a slight bow as his voice lowered to a bass note at the end of his phrase.

Never in all her life had she felt so enclosed and hunted. Well, except for the encounter with Dorothy. Rage blinded her then. She wanted nothing more than the shoes, and Dorothy could not be trusted because she was sent by the Wizard.
No, this was different. Several men, large men with brooding eyes and big bodies, wanted her dead, apparently. This, incomparison to Dorothy, seemed much too much for her.
"I... I need..." she couldn't get the words out. She didn't like her independence being compromised, yet it was necessary.
"Do you work as a protector?" she asked quietly, keeping her head down. She absentmindedly brushed some of her silky black hair from her cheek.

Although, in a place like this, he doubted if he was going to get too many death warrants, and it may be in his best interest to actually 'spread his horizons' if one may.
"I suppose it is not out of my scope of abilities," he said simply, eyes trained on her from beneath his black hood.
no subject
"I'm certain you know of the organization? The ones that all look the same, in some round about way? They deem my involvement with one of their members a problem. My life, or... second life?" she shook her head.
"Either way, apparently I have a death warrant on my head." She looked up at Lucien for the first time. Her eyes shimmered almost as if they would release the tears, but she willed herself not to.
Considering that she told Luxord what had killed her, she was even more frightened that he may relay this information to Xemnas or the others. "Please, keep me... safe." she forced the last few words out.

Of course, harming someone was always the best way of taking care of a problem, and it sounded better if he was actually being hired to take out the organization, rather than merely protecting Elphaba.
"I believe that should be no problem," he said simply to her, smirking quite widely. "What can you tell me of the abilities of this organization?" he questioned, wondering if he was going to need to use a few of the scrolls he had found in his room.
no subject
She didn't have any qualms with Vexen, nor the others. Maybe because they don't even seem to take notice. "I don't know about the rest. Saix appears to be Xemnas' informant."
She looked down again. "Don't harm Luxord."
She initially intended on this meeting simply asking for him to be her eyes and perhaps report anything suspicious back to her. How did it come to her asking for his protection?
"What are the payments for your services?"
no subject
Musing a bit, he smirked. "I'm noticing a trend with these...Xs..." he said calmly, wondering if it were a religious thing. Surely, there had been many cults on Cyrodill that had required payment for joining the cult...but that had been there, and this was here.
"Normally gold was the price," he said simply, eyeing her a bit. "Is there anything like that here?" he questioned.
no subject
She never really thought of the X thing, it didn't seem to matter to her. Not at all actually.
"So... what would be the payment?" she crossed her arms over her chest.
no subject
..."Can you write magic scrolls?" he questioned, eyeing her simply. Perhaps she could pay in trade...if not gold.
no subject
She wondered if this was worth the hassle. Especially since she hadn't gained much control of her power. She was still acting on pure emotion, and not from skill.
no subject
Afterall, there was the simple pleasure of killing, and that would be enough for now.
no subject
"You can change your mind Lucien. I'll understand. One can't do something for nothing after all." She cocked her head, resting her hands in her lap.
Her independent presence come back, and she was prepared to watch over herself, should need be. Though she was hoping that Lucien would provide extra eyes.
no subject
"Its an agreement then?" he questioned. He was looking forward to killing something, and having a debt to him just made it more sweet, although he knew the woman was hardly pleased with the trade off. She would live, however, as he would.
She had one of Cyrodill's best assassins, afterall.

It was a shame there were no other members of the Hand here, or they could enact a true network like he had enjoyed on Cyrodill.

"Thank you Lucien... But please... Do not harm Luxord... Or Vexen." she thought last moment. Vexen had always been civil toward her, almost friendly.
She stood and walked toward the door to show him out.
no subject
Lucien, was not evil, by far. He was actually civil, and actually kept his word.

Upon closing the door, she grinned to herself. Saix and Xemnas will not bother her anymore. Not with Lucien protecting her.
A sense of ease came over her. She laid down in her bed. It had been a long day. A long day indeed.
