Yeah, it's overwhelming, but what else can we do? | Open
Who: James Potter and Open!
Where: Everywhere!
When: 3/20/14 - 3/27/14
Rating: PG-13for a very teenage boy reaction to the sex swap
Summary: Catch all for James for the event! He'll be a girl first and later he'll be a bratty little kid.
The Story:
1. GIRL
It's not so much that James waits a day to go exploring. No, it's the opposite really. He spends Thursday taking a good look at everything from afar, and altering his map accordingly. He marks the basic changes (in something that isn't permanent, just in case) and goes about seeing exactly what's different and what's changed and trying to see if there's a good reason why.
There doesn't seem to be. So, Friday he resolves to look a little closer. He starts with the gazebo, just because it's the first thing he notices when he walks out the door. It's large and it's funny that an entire pond and fountain had to go missing to put it, but it seems...ordinary. He spends a lot of time trying to figure it out though - he stands up on the benches to inspect the ceiling, he shakes the supports, but nothing seems out of the ordinary.
At least, until he leaves. As soon as he steps off of it, he feels...different. Lighter? It's odd; he doesn't feel like anything happened but suddenly his hair is much longer and even more in his face than usual. He does his best to push it aside...and that's when he looks down and notices his chest. And his more feminine figure. Anxiously, he looks around to see if anyone is nearby and when he's sure he's alone, he cautiously touches his (now much smaller) hand to the front of his (now far too big) pants. Just as feared, there's nothing there and James quickly takes his hand away. He can feel his whole face turning red.
His immediate response is to go back to the gazebo and immediately get on and off of it again to see if he changes back, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe he just wasn't on it long enough. But no, after five minutes or so of trying repeatedly, he abandons that idea. Instead, he storms off toward the mansion, wanting to get as far away from the gazebo as possible.
[He will be a girl on Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd. He can be found anywhere in the mansion and groundsexcept the gazebo and his replies will come from
hotterpotters.]
2. DOWNTIME
After his adventures in Womanhood, James goes back to observing from afar, at least for a little while. He spends more time watching how things are effecting others and checking in on his friends. Unless, of course, someone drags him off somewhere.
[James won't be effected by anything on Sunday, March 23rd and Monday, March 24th. This is basically the miscellaneous category, except I'm doing this in chronological order. If there's something else you'd like to do other than gender bend or deage, or if you want some other thread with James and don't feel like making a post, this is the category for you.]
3. LITTLE KID
James should know better at this point. He really, really should. But that playground looks wicked in the best sort of way, and if he just looks quickly he shouldn't get stuck as anything for more than a few minutes, right?
Well, unfortunately, the playground is not like the gazebo was, and as soon as James approaches it he shrinks down to more than half his height. He's startled, for a moment. But only for a moment - there's a huge playground in front of him, obviously put here for his amusement, and it is all for him.
Quickly, he scrambles up the playground, all the way up. He'd always liked climbing up to high places, and his father had always proudly claimed it was proof he'd be a great Quidditch player one day (which was often followed by his mother always shrieking for her husband to get James off of the roof right this instant!). But he climbs all the way up and even manage to shimmy up the support poles until he is as high up as he can get. He frowns when he notices he can't see his parents from here, but in the excitement of the playground they are quickly forgotten.
James spends the next six hours on the playground, playing with each and every part of it and throwing things at the other children.
Eventually he tires himself out though and it's getting dark, so he carefully climbs down. And...his parent still aren't there. This is much more alarming now that night has fallen, and he runs around looking while he still can, but they're nowhere to be found. He's completely and utterly lost in some weird place with a fantastic playground and his parents are missing.
There's nowhere else to go but the mansion at that point, so with great effort he pushes open the door. Everything is huge, and his parents still aren't immediately in front of him, and he's actually sort of scared now. Just a little. Maybe. Definitely.
At this point he can't take it anymore though, so he stops everything and cries in the middle of the entrance hall. At the top of his lungs. He's sick of being lost and that ought to make someone come running.
[Because he spent like most of the day on the playground, from Tuesday, March 25th until Thursday, March 27th James will be seven years old - at least until the 27th, when he will proudly tell anyone who will listen that IT IS HIS ~*BIRTHDAY*~. He can be found in various places in the mansion and if anyone wants to take care of him at any time, please do. He's a little spoiled brat though and he will absolutely try and sneak off at times. His replies are all going to come from
smallerpotter.]
[And finally, both prose and [action brackets] are fine with me. /o/]

Minakoa female Minato after looking. XD But anyway, a little seven-year-old Minato will be back inside the Mansion after exploring outside. The playground was awesome, but then it made Minato so tiny. He had his share of the carnival already, and left it there behind him in the hope that he could also leave anyone he might not have wanted to see there too.Not going anywhere near that asylum, and the diner looked so different from the normal dining room and tearooms that he didn't quite want to go inside at the moment. Maybe he would take a nap on one of those hanging beds, but not just yet.
Thus, more exploring then. He was making his way down a hallway and turned a corner, only to bump into someone who was so much taller than him! He rubbed his head a little, then bowed as an apology for not looking where he was going. He looked up and saw a girl with glasses that looked sort of familiar, but then he thought he might not know her. Did he?]
no subject
He has to shove his hair out of his face to get a good look though. James has decided he hates actually having girl hair. He doesn't know how Lily and Jo and the rest of them do it - it just gets everywhere. He's actually sort of tempted to just chop it all off, but his hair doesn't generally cooperate with scissors under normal circumstances. But James looks down and there's someone very small at his feet. He looks...familiar. Hm.]
Oh! Sorry about that! You alright?
[It is never going to stop being weird to hear his voice so much higher. He actually looks mildly embarrassed by it.]
no subject
He nodded since he was fine, he wasn't hurt. He looked up at her and brought his hand up a bit to point at her, a silent way of asking if she were okay too. He didn't mean to get in her way! And she looked like she was in a rush to go somewhere.
And he still couldn't shake the feeling that he knew who this was. Those glasses, he didn't know very many people with glasses. But wait, wasn't his friend with the glasses a boy?]
no subject
Hm? I'm alright. [He chuckles a little, warmly.] Well, aren't you a quiet one?
[He smiles though, and crouches down so he's down on the boy's level. Based on the quietness, he's sort of assuming
probably incorrectlythat this boy is shy, maybe even a bit scared.]Are you lost? Are your Mum and Dad around?
no subject
He also felt a little better now that James was smiling. He (She?) seemed nice. He really had been scared, but he was also naturally quiet, which didn't help.
Since James was being so nice though, Minato thought he could answer his questions without being judged or scolded for being honest. He shook his head first, to mean he wasn't lost. But as for his parents?
He shook his head again, then looked down at his shoes. He didn't know where they were. He knew enough about what happened to people when they went away permanently and would never come back again.]
no subject
So he offers a gentle, sympathetic smile.]
Hey, it's alright. My parents haven't turned up here either.
[Honestly, he's been missing them a lot more in the last few weeks, even if he would never wish Wonderland on them.]
Say, are you hungry? We can go get something to eat, if you want.
[Food solves most problems. Boy, girl, doesn't matter. James could have been turned into a giant squid and food would still make it better.]
no subject
But oh. Oh, the offer of food! Minato, no matter what age, really did like eating. He perked up a bit, eyes slightly wide at James's offer, and nodded quickly.
... Wait, wait! But before he could go with someone he didn't really know or hadn't quite recognized, Minato hesitated for a second, frowning slightly. He didn't even know this person's name. He couldn't just go with them, no matter how nice they were.
With both of his little hands, he reached out to hold onto one of James's hands. On James's palm, Minato wrote his first name 湊 on it with his finger. Luckily it was only one character, and maybe the Mansion would sort of translate it. Then he hoped that maybe his new friend would reciprocate and share her (his?) name too.]

So while she's still going to wander around outside, she gives the gazebo a large berth. She's just leaving the mansion, rather curious to check on the higher water level, when she spots someone racing back toward the mansion with intense purpose.
Martha tilts her head. The girl is a stranger, but something about her glasses are familiar, and the fact that she's racing away from the gazebo seems like a huge clue.
Still, Martha would rather not assume anything. She doesn't want to just ask some random person, "did you used to be a bloke?"
So instead, she keeps it simple. "Are you all right?"
Re: 1
"I'm fi-"
But he squeaks in surprise and claps a hand over his mouth. What happened to his voice? He hadn't spoken since he changed a few minutes ago, but it's so...it's higher and he doesn't sound like himself at all.
"F-Fine! I'm fine," he tries again, red-faced and twice as embarrassed this time. "Completely! Definitely fine! N-Never better! Yes! I'm..."
No, he's not, but he finally really notices who he's talking to and that calms him a little. Only a little, because he's not sure he wants anyone recognizing him immediately after this mess, but if someone had to, then he supposes it's alright if it's her.
"...wait. Martha?"
no subject
Yes, totally fine. Clearly.
Although when she's more directly noticed -- and more than that, recognized -- Martha cocks her head to the side and nods slowly. "That'd be me. I take it that we know each other?"
This has to be James. But she'll allow him to say so for himself.
no subject
"Y...Yes! Yes, we've known each other a while now! ...But no, wait, of course you don't - I don't look anything like myself right now!"
Frustrated, he runs his hand through his hair, managing to look exactly like himself even though there's so much more hair on his head now. ...But then he looks up at her, and he remembers her struggling not to smile, and it dawns on him all of a sudden that she's messing with him. His whole face changes into more of a put-off pout.
Well played, Martha.
"James," he says, just to be clear. "I'm James, and that...that stupid gazebo did this to me!"
no subject
He figures out her angle with all this soon enough, and Martha can't help laughing as a result. Is that cruel? Probably, but at least changing sexes isn't all that harmful. It's a nice change from how events usually go around here.
"Yes, and I don't think you're the only one. I'll be staying away from it myself... I don't have much interest in being male, personally."
She can't help just a bit more teasing.
"It's a good look for you, though."
no subject
"Hilarious, Martha," he says, dryly. "I can't say I had any interest in being a girl either. If I'd known that's what it did, I would've stayed away from it."
He pouts a bit, and pushes some of his hair to the side. It keeps poking him in the face, and it's getting on his nerves.
"I haven't gotten a look at myself yet," he admits. "Not sure I want to, to be honest. I can't really picture myself this way."
He's been imagining his male body with breasts just sort of awkwardly attached to it, and it isn't exactly the most attractive mental image he can conjure.

"Are you all right, miss?"
Re: 1
"Ah, um. Yes. I'm fine," he says, trying not to be so flustered about his new higher-pitched voice. "Perfectly fine. Just grand. I'm just...in a bit of a hurry."
It will dawn on James later that it probably would have made more sense to say "Oh, excuse me, but I have to go - you see I'm actually a man and this is mortifying." Alas, everyone has perfect vision in hindsight, and in the moment James is too frazzled trying to think of how to undo this mess to actually handle it properly.

James finds the bowing strange though - the flirting is almost entirely unwelcome, but also oddly flattering in a way? He's overwhelmingly self-confident in his looks as a boy, so it's nice to see that's transferred over to his new girlish figure. But no, he's not sure he's a fan of this beyond the ego boosting.

"I, uh. I don't live here, exactly," he says. "I'm just...visiting."
It's just been an absurdly long visit, that's all.

3 u punk
The results are a baby Johnny leading his baby horse around the playground, too shy to approach any other kids, but obviously very interested in watching what they're up to.
Wow, that one kid is climbing high-- that's pretty fucking dangerous. Johnny gets close enough to call out:
"Um, are you... stuck?"
ur the punk, punk
"No! Course not!"
But then he gasps loudly and dramatically as soon as he sees what exactly is down below him.
"You've got a pony!"
omg rued
"It's a horse! A baby horse!"
Jeez, that boy is up high... JoJo feels nervous just watching him.
"Um, i-if you come down, I'll let you pet her!"
ur face is rued
James considers his options very seriously (or as seriously as someone can while swinging upside down from a very high place). He doesn't want to come down, but obviously the pony can't come up and when is he going get the chance to pet a pony again?
"Okay!" he shouts down. "I wanna pet her!"
And like nothing, he starts swinging and climbing down the playground.
ur soul is stuped
UR STUPED SOUL IS RUED
It does take him forever though, because he's so tiny. But eventually he does rush right over to stare in aw at the pony. He's never seen a pony this close before!
"Alright, I'm here! Can I pet her now?"
He's nice enough to ask at least, but he's definitely already reaching out to do it whether this kid says yes or no.
