seekingbrother: (Itty Bitty OH DEAR GOD)

The cutest of the wee ones

Who: Al and you!
Where: Outside near the playground or pretty much anywhere inside.
When: Afternoon of the 20th
Rating: PG at most, probably! Unless swearing happens.
Summary: And then another lil' tyke was wandering around.
The Story:

There are times when Al is not as smart as he really should be--this is one of them. Really, the playground had seemed innocent enough, but it didn't take long for that to be disproven. And now with a very small and very confused Elric child there, it's about to get a lot more loud.

"BROTHER!!!"

Who else could have gotten him into this mess, after all? He tears around the playground, trying and failing to find Edward before he sees the mansion and, after a long moment of debate, goes running inside. Now it's simply a long, long walk through the whole mansion as Al searches around, calling out occasionally for Edward.

Scientists were naturally curious, so it was inevitable for Victor to find himself in the playground. The years melted away in a blink and he got a sudden shock as the world around him stayed stubbornly in color. What...? His confusion lasted only for a moment.

Brother. He reacted to the word instantly, seeking out the source. It didn't sound like Gerhardt's voice, but Victor's older brother instincts were still in high gear.

He spotted the boy and gave him an assuring smile. "Are you all right?" he asked. "Did you lose your brother?"

"All right, calm down," Victor soothed the younger boy. "I can help you find him. What's his name?"

"Edward." Victor repeated the name with a nod. He held out his hand. "You shouldn't be out here alone. Let's look for him together."

"Victor Frankenstein," he introduced pleasantly, shaking the boy's hand. "I'm a big brother too, you know," he added as he moved to guide the boy out of the playground. "And I'm a medical student. You're in good hands with me."

"I'm not a doctor yet," Victor corrected the boy. "I still have a lot of hard study ahead of me before I can claim that. One day, though..." He paused, his eyes going unfocused as he thought of his ambitions. He turned his attention back on the boy at his side.

"So where did you last see your brother?"

"All right, then all we need to do is find this river," Victor concluded. He had no idea of this place's geography, but he gave the boy a comforting smile all the same.

"It doesn't look like my home, either," Victor admitted. "It's too... bright." That was what unnerved him about the place the most. It felt unnatural. "But we won't figure out where we are by standing around. A good scientist would welcome such a puzzle."
jolting: (V: Glasses)

"Process of elimination," Victor agreed. "And logical, too. Let's go." He kept his strides small so the younger boy could keep pace with him as they headed to the forest.
jolting: (V: Puzzled)

Victor paused to listen. It was quiet, with a faint rustling of leaves to break the silence. But no sounds of running water to tell him that a river would be nearby.

"No," he admitted. "Not here in the forest, anyway. I think I did hear the ocean, though." He turned to look in the direction of the ocean thoughtfully.
jolting: (V: Think)

Victor's gazed moved from the forest to where the ocean was waiting, and back again. "Depends," he mused. "Would your brother go into the woods or go toward the ocean?"

The call is one that Samandriel hears a long way off, and it leaves him alert--even if his vessel is suddenly tinier than usual, that doesn't mean he's not still capable of helping humans in danger. And it doesn't change anything about him wanting to, either.

He flutters around a little, trying to locate the source of the shout. Appear on place, glance around for a few moments, then disappear and reappear somewhere else seconds later. It is the most efficient way to search, after all, and though it takes him a few tries, the angel eventually finds himself in a hallway just in time to watch a young boy run past.

"Excuse me," he calls out to the boy--one he's wondering now if he's usually this age, or if he too fell prey to the playground. His tone is polite, and concerned. An interesting thing to hear from someone who appears as young as he does. "Do you need help?"

"Ed?" He asks, head cocking slightly to one side. The name is familiar, he remembers meeting someone by that name on his first day here. Of course, Ed is a common name, so it could be the wrong one, Samandriel supposes, but he's willing to help whether that's the case or not. The poor boy looks awfully afraid.

"Possibly." Offering a small tip of his head that isn't quite a nod, but something along those lines. "Ed as in Edward Elric? I've met him. I haven't seen him in a few days, but I can help you find him, if you'd like."

"Yes, of course." Samandriel nods once more, this time offering a slight smile. Even if he gets the feeling that this boy is in a similar situation as himself, in terms of his age lowering, he still believes it's best to make sure he's kept safe. Getting him to his brother sounds like a good way to do that.

Although, as out of touch as he is with most human customs, even he notices the oddity in what Al says.

"Isn't the older brother typically the one that keeps the younger out of trouble?" He knows that much, because the same is similar with angels; though, not always the exact case, either.

"I see." Samandriel accepts the answer easily, with a slight little nod. He then casts a glance around the both of them, thoughtfully, before looking back to Al. "Where do you suppose we should start looking? Is there any place he's likely to be?"

"He's here, yes." Samandriel nods again, offering a soft smile. Smiles are comforting, right? Children find those comforting? "We should check the kitchen, then. I can fly us there, if you'd like?"

Looking at Al, a patient look of question on his face, he waits for a response. It seems...wise to ask before doing, especially here. Especially with a child. The last thing he wants to do is frighten the boy.

"No, they can't." Samandriel's smile takes on an ounce of amusement. "But I'm not human, and I can fly."
