Summary: While Robin was out angsting at the roof, Yotsuba comes and cheers him up!
the Story:

Waking up from wherever it was she had taken a nap at, Yotsuba sat herself up and rubbed her eyes. There was a small little squeak from her as she yawned, but soon, energy rushed through her, waking herself up to allow her more adventure time! Crawling off from her comfort spot, Yotsuba slipped her shoes back on and made sure all of her stuff was still in her bag before leaving the area and searching around.

So, she crawled up the large staircase heading upwards, her small bag shifting back and forth as she literally crawled on hands and feet up each individual stairs. About halfway up, she stopped and took a drink from her drink box and munched on more snacks to revitalize her before crawling to the last door upwards. Dusting herself off, she reached up and turned the door knob to the roof~

Robin was still in the same position as last night, curled in a ball at the edge of the roof. He wasn't crying anymore, but he hadn't bothered wiping his cheeks since he didn't think anyone would come up. The young boy didn't hear Yotsuba come in, since he was too deep in thought.

Yotsuba stepped forward onto the roof and held onto her bag tightly. The air up here almost made her fly off the roof! Thinking that she might be able to really fly, the little girl moved farther onto the roof until she saw a figure sitting far far away. Leaning her head cutely to one side, the little girl stepped closer and closer until she was about 3 feet away from Robin's back, "Did you come up here to fly too?"

Robin's head snapped up when he heard Yotsuba's voice. At first he was planning to glare at the person so he could be alone, but seeing it was just child, he didn't have the heart to glare at her. Instead, he just gave a small smile. "No, I just came up here to be alone,"

"Oh!" Came the small little reply. Yotsuba just stood there for a moment, watching Robin with curious little eyes before she decided to crawl up and take a seat right next to Robin like it was nothing. "I came up here to see to see the roof!"

Robin blinked as the young child took a seat next to him. "Why did you want to see the roof? It's dangerous if you fall off," he said, wiping his tears.

Yotsuba's eyes widened with shock as she then looked down off the edge of the roof and then back to Robin, "... It's dangerous?! Then you shouldn't be on here either!" D:

"Don't worry. I know how to take care of myself," he said, still smiling while patting Yotsuba's head. "I don't know about you though, so be careful,"

"... I can take care of myself too!" Said the little girl with an upset pout. Yotsuba steeled herself onto the rooftop edge with such enthusiasm to show she would NOT fall off the roof, "See?!" u3u

Robin's insides jumped a bit. "Uwah! That's dangerous! Please get away from the edge!" he said, trying to reach Yotsuba. Of course, he, himself, was pretty close to the edge too though.

Yotsuba made a squeaky noice and continued to pout, "If you can do it, I can do it!" ... What a stubborn little girl this was. However, it was at that moment a large gust of wind picked up and sent the little girl floating in the air for a moment.

Luckily, Robin managed to catch the scruff off Yotsuba's shirt before she fell. "...That..that is why you shouldn't stand on the edge.." he said, panting a bit. He was sure his heart had stopped for a moment there.

Yotsuba was still for a moment as the wind died down and she found herself dangling from her shirt. When she put both her feet down onto the rooftop floor, her eyes lit up happily and she moved closer, "THAT WAS FUN!"

Robin nearly tripped hearing that. "Miss..Please..just..don't do that..ok?" he said, not getting how she found fun in that.

"... oh. Ok." Yotsuba resigned gently as she peered off the edge one more time before turning around to face Robin. Craning her head upwards (as everyone was much taller than she), the little girl smiled brightly, "It was just like flying!"

Robin sighed, but couldn't help not to smile at the girl and pat her head. "Was it? I've never flew before so I wouldn't know,"

When Yotsuba was patted on the head, she couldn't help but smile cutely. It was almost as if she were being patted on the head by Jumbo! .. only... Robin was much shorter and not as muscular! Although, when she looked up, she saw Robin's arm and blinked, "Your arm looks weird!" Because she had no tact. At all. XD;

Robin quickly hid his hand. "Ah...I...err..." He had no idea what to say. He couldn't really say that his teacher gave him his arm to a little child could he? "I...got into an accident and..uh...injured it.."

"You should take better care of your arm!" Yotsuba waggles a tiny finger at Robin, having no idea that the arm was for different reasons, "My daddy always tells me to take care of my boo boo's or else they'll hurt!"

Robin nodded. "That's true. I'll be careful from now on," he said. "What's your name, little girl?"

The little girl tried to peer to see what Robin's arm looked like, but stood politely as she was asked for her name, "I'm Yotsuba Koiwai!" She answered cheerily.

Robin blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. "Yotsuba-chan!!!??!" he exclaimed.

".... You know me?" '_' Yotsuba pointed to herself.

Robin laughed a bit. "It's me, Robin," he said, hugging the little girl.

Soon, Yotsuba found herself enveloped in a hug and with her friend Robin, ".. ROBIN!"

Robin picked her up like how Julia used to pick up little Robin. "It's so nice to see you finally," he said.

Yotsuba was lifted up off the ground and she giggled, holding her arms out like she was flying, "Whee~!"

Robin smiled. "Do you like that?" he asked, keeping her lifted.

"I'm flying, Robin! I'm flying!" Giggled little Yotsuba as she flapped her wings like a bird.

Robin spun around a bit, before setting her down on the ground. "Was that fun, Yotsuba-chan?" she asked.

When Yotsuba was settled down, she waved her arms up in the air, eyes wide and lit up with excitement, "That was fun! Lots of fun! Really really fun!"

"I'm glad you liked it!" he said, patting her head with his right hand this time. "Saa..Let's go back in ne?"

"Ok!" Yotsuba chirped as she smiled happily up at Robin. "Being with you is lots of fun!"

"I'm glad," he said, smiling while walking back to the door. "Being with you is very fun too,"

"Does Robin know where the kitchen is? It's really big and it's got lots of food!" Squealed the little girl as she raced a few paces forward to meet him at the door.

"Mmhm," he answered, nodding. Catching up with the younger girl, he opened the door and stepped inside which was much less windy and warm. "Are you hungry?"

To which, the little girl bounded on in and waited at the top of the steps. Her father always told her never to go down the stairs without holding someone's hand or being very VERY careful. "No. But this house is really REAAAAAALY big."

Robin nodded while going down the stairs at normal pace. "I agree. Some of the hallways seem endless...Or maybe that's because I get lost so easily..Eheh.."

"Race you down the stairs!" ... ok, so maybe she threw safety out the window as she began trying to move faster down the steps.

"Eh? Ok, then.." Robin began running down the stairs. It was a new experience to him, since, being raised up in a church, he was raised to be polite and quiet always.

"I get ice cream if I win!" Called out Yotsuba as she continued to race downards.

"Sure," Robin was not too behind Yotsuba. He was sure he was gonna trip soon...he always d-....Ow. That was rather painful...I think my knee's bleeding..

When she got to a turn in the staircase, Yotsuba looked backwards and saw that Robin had tripped and falled! D: Her eyes began to wibble and she went back wards to him, "You shouldn't cry! You need to be strong!" Even though she was tearing up that Robin was hurt. ;-;

Robin gave Yotsuba an encouraging smile. "Don't worry, Yotsuba-chan, I'll be strong! So you be strong too!" he said, giving the younger girl his hankie. Inspecting his elbow, he found out that he DID skin the elbow and it WAS bleeding. But before Yotsuba could see it, he quickly wiped the blood off.

"I'll give you half of my ice cream!" To which, Yotsuba reached down to grab his left arm regardless of what it looked like and began leading him down the stairs, "And I'll put a bandy-aid on your boo boo!"

Robin smiled. "Why thank you," he said, taking her hand and standing. "Come on, let's walk down the stairs, ne?"

Yotsuba nodded quickly as she made her way SLOWLY down the stairs. Cause she didn't want Robin to get another boo boo. u_u She didn't seem bothered by the disfigured hand anymore and held onto it like it was a normal one, "My daddy always tells me to share!"

"That's good! My..um..Mother...and um..Sister told me to share too!" he said, not knowing what to call the nuns at the church.

"... you have a mom and a sister?!" Yotsuba asked curiously as her green eyes stared up in wonder, "I just have my dad and my Grandma and Grandpa!"

"Sort of. I grew up in a church," he said. "But I lived with my sister in the church!"

"... a... church?" '_' .... O_O "OH! It's the place with all the ladies in black that sing at Christmas!"

Robin laughed. "Yes, the ladies in black," he said.

Yotsuba's mouth opened in awe, "Wow.... did you have to wear all black too, Robin?"

"No, I'm a boy," he said. "Besides, I really wasn't a 'member' of the church,"

To that, Yotsuba stopped and leaned her head to one side as she had that confused look in her face again, "... but.. you lived there..."

Robin thought for a moment, trying to explain it in a way Yotsuba could understand. "Um..you have to be a member of the church to wear those black clothes. But living and being a member is different. Get it?" Robin hoped she would.

"... so... if you don't live there, you can't wear the black clothes?" Was how Yotsuba figured.

"Um..Yeah!" Robin figured that's as far as she could do the best with Yotsuba.

Yotsuba placed a hand under her chin in contemplation as she nodded. -3- "I see. I see."

Robin smiled. "Ah! We're at the kitchen!" he said, pointing to the kitchen door.

"Yay!" To that, Yotsuba raced forward again, totally forgetting that she was supposed to be going with Robin and went through the kitchen door~

Robin jogged to catch up with the energetic young girl. Entering the big kitchen, he wondered how and who stocked it.

Yotsuba raced to the pantry and then searched around until she found some pocky.

Robin looked from behind. "What's that?" he asked, never seen a thing called 'pocky' before.

Pulling out the box, Yotsuba held out the red box towards Robin and smiled happily, "It's pocky!"

"Um..What's pocky?" he asked, taking a stick out and looking at curiously.

"You eat it!" Yotsuba chirped out as she looked down at it, "Ena and Asagi ate them lots of times!"

"Um...ok.." Robin nibbled it. "It's pretty good..Is Ena and Asagi, your friends?" he asked, eating the pocky.

"They're my neighbors!" Was the truthful answer as she ate her own stick of pocky, "Ena, and Asagi, And Fuuka and 'Mom' are all my neighbors!"

"Oh wow! That's a lot of neighbors! Are they all friendly to you?" he asked, finished his stick of pocky. It rather tasty he must admit.

Nod nod nod nodnod. Oh, and the devouring of another pocky stick too, "Yeah! They're really nice! I go over to their house all the time and eat."

"They must be like another family to you, ne?" he asked, watching the little girl eat the pocky.

"...... I can have another family?" She asked before she sat herself down on the floor of the pantry.

"Well..when you're very close to someone it can be like..another family," he explained, wondering if he made any sense at all.

Yotsuba leaned her head cutely to one side and blinked, "... does that mean I'd have to leave my dad for my new family?" And thus, cue the wibble face.

Robin shook his head. "No no no no! It just means you're very very close with the other people that they're very special to you, like your dad!"

Silence.. silence... and then Yotsuba's face lit up with realization, "Oh! Ok! So... I can have more family.. but my dad is still my dad!"
Robin nodded. "Yes!" What the heck am I telling her..really.

Yotsuba then let out a big yawn and rubbed her eyes.

Robin blinked. "Sleepy?" he asked.

"No!" Yotsuba rubbed her eyes a little more, "I'm not sleepy!"

Robin smiled and picked Yotsuba up. "Well, let's go back to your room anyway. I want to see your room Yotsuba-chan,"

Yotsuba was picked up rather easily, how could she not? She was only almost 6, and rubbed her eyes some more, "I'm staying with Pretty Lady."

"Pretty Lady?"

"Pretty Lady!" Yotsuba chirped as she smiled at Robin. ^_^

"Who's Pretty Lady? Your mother?" he asked, walking back up the stairs.

"Nope! Pretty Lady is Pretty Lady!" Yotsuba yawned as she rubbed her eyes. But she wasn't sleepy. Nope nope. "... Pretty Lady drew with me outside..."

"O-Oh..Well...can you tell me Pretty Lady's room number?" he asked, still walking up the stairs. He was already passed floor two.

Yotsuba shook her head, "Nope!" ^^

Robin stopped. "E-Eh!?"

There was a big smile on Yotsuba's face as she threw her arms into the air, "Pretty Lady lives in a big room! And she likes my drawing."

"Um...do you know at least what floor?" he asked, hoping Yotsuba did.

".......... .........." Yotsuba was quiet for a moment before she went, D:< "Pretty Lady is nice!" ... which was a way of saying she didn't know.

"Um...I'm sure she is...." he replied, before sighing a bit. "Yotsuba-chan, why don't we go to my room?"

"... Robin has a room here?!" Her eyes widened in wonder.

Robin nodded. "Yes I do. I stay with a few others, but they aren't mean," Most of the time he added to himself.
"... you live with other people?"

"Yes. Friends,"

Yotsuba rubbed her eyes and yawned, "I stay with Pretty Lady." ^^

Robin nodded. "Yes, you have told me," he said. "Don't you want to see my room though?"

"... is there ice cream?"

Robin pondered for a while. "Um...I don't think so.."

"Oh." Yotsuba then slumped a little in Robin's arms and gave a really loud yawn. "... ice cream is good." She was falling asleep.

Robin nodded. "I think it's yummy too," he said, although he had never had ice cream before. Cradling Yotsuba in his arms, he headed towards the room he shared with Rabi and others.

But, Yotsuba didn't answer as she fell asleep in Robin's arms. z_z

Robin smiled at Yotsuba's sleeping figure as he went back to his room. Placing Yotsuba in his bed, he figured he should go find this 'Pretty Lady', Yotsuba was talking about.
