[Open] This time, baby, I'll be bulletproof!

Who: Loki and EVERYONE
Where: Various (Library, Roof, Mansion, Garden, Kitchen)
When: 5/8-?
Rating: Gonna stick with Teen to be safe.
Summary: Pretty much a catch-all log for anyone who wanted Loki interaction.
The Story:

[Jane]
He'd be lying if he said he wasn't almost tired of everyone showing up all at once. Damn them all for waltzing in, stealing his proverbial thunder, and forcing him into a state of hiding! (Also, for throwing books at him. Yes, this is a thing that he's tired of as well.) He made a retreat for the roof. Hawkeye wasn't there at the moment, he knew that already, and he really needed a vantage point that was high enough for him to keep an eye out for any other offending Avengers. But as soon as he made it into the fresh, crisp, night air, he found he wasn't alone. And it was far too late to slink back into the shadows. Well. Damn again.

"You wouldn't happen to be armed with a book, would you? That seems to be the mortal woman's weapon of choice, as of late." Why yes, that tone is heavily swathed in sarcasm.

[Isaac And look, it's NOT PROSE for you]
[Loki isn't exactly one to break down and give in to mortal urges, but he felt it was about time to ingest something suitable for a change. So, a quick visit to the kitchen was in order. He... really doesn't know what he's doing, so he's just going to fumble about until he happens about something moderately edible and nutritious. He isn't expecting company in the middle of the night, but you never know...]

[Everyone Else]
[Prose or Bracketspam is fine. Feel free to bump into him anywhere and engage him in conversation. He doesn't have much of a routine, but he frequents the library, walks around at night in the garden, generally avoids Avengers and whatnot. Also feel free to assume he's in his Sif persona, because that's a thing he's been doing lately. If you wish for Sif, just mention her in your tag and I'll respond with her icons.

Another prompt could be mentioning/making fun of him for his Disney Sing-off with Captain America, or the like.]

She met him in the garden, glad at last to meet the god who was a welcome relief to her precoceived notions of Loki. Lilith nodded at him in approval, walking towards him. "At last we meet."

It didn't take much for her to see how powerful he was. It crackled in the air around him, a force that she could feel to her core. He was perhaps even more powerful than she was..something she didn't come across to often. Her smile grew, it only helped to emphasis how handsome he was. Power made him more delectable and he was brimming with it.

"As do you, my lord." She murmured, grinning. "You cut a fine figure, though the video feed couldn't do you justice."

She waved her hand, dissipating the illusion in a small puff of smoke. Quirking her finger, she pulled him closer telekinetically, until they were both face to face. "I prefer what I see in front of me." Lilith said with a small curl of her lips.

Slowly, Lilith circled around him, her body close to his. It was obvious from first sight that Loki was charming and seductive, far more than any angel. Despite Gabriel's ability to jest and laugh, he was still only an angel and bore their limitations. This Loki seemed to be full of surprises, even the gleam in his eyes was a pleasant realization. He could easily manipulate someone into wickedness.

How perfect that she was already wicked.

"Tell me, my lord, do you have something planned for this world?"

He was simply delightful. His presence clearly a mix of predator and ally. Whatever his declaration to her, he would be loyal to himself first. That suited her well. Anyone that swore loyalty right away when they had more power were nothing but fools. Used as nothing more than pawns, if that. Otherwise, whatever abilities they had would be taken and placed in the hands of the more competent.

His eyes were piercing, something that pleased her. It raised the hairs on the back of her neck and made her feel nervous and wary at the same time. Almost as though she were naked before him.

The question made her smile, "Chaos." Lilith said, finally stopping before him. His flattery did not go unnoticed and only encouraged her to step closer to him. "Chaos is an art and this world is a blank canvas, almost begging to be painted by an expert hand." She chuckled. "It certainly has its own brand of chaos...it's inspiring." Her eyes swept over him. "Certainly such a brilliant and...masterful god such as you would have an idea of what to do?"

Darcy grabs her taser, throwing it in her bag before leaving her room in search of a certain scientist. Stopping off on one of the landings, she gives a small sigh, figuring she should probably pop into the kitchen and stock up before trying to track down Jane. Better to be prepared and stockpiled with food than deal with a hungry scientist unarmed.

She hums to herself as she enters the kitchen, starting to load a few things into her bag and grabbing coffee when she notices she's not alone. She wouldn't have made a big deal out of it if she hadn't recognized the woman from New Mexico.

"Lady Sif, is that you?"

She enjoyed potential and truly saw it in this partnership. Being surrounded mostly by idiots (save for a few exceptions), it was gratifying to find someone who not only thought like her, but seemed to recognize potential just as easily. He was clever and seductive, something that she always found irresistible in men. It would make their partnership more intriguing and exciting. She would never know what would happen next.

His open delight made her grin. Good, there was no need to worry about being spurned for her demonic nature. Others would fawn over Lucifer and wait for his decisions, but she couldn't wait. She lived too long on her own and waited far too long to enjoy her own apocalypse. Why not bring it to Wonderland?

"A pity so few can understand what beauty springs from death." She laughed, placing her hand in his as he offered. The kiss only made her chuckle. "And how fortunate for me that I now come under the protection of such a powerful and ingenious god. There are those that are present who wish me ill and would harm me if they could." She pouted, provocative to the last.

"I have already begun, in a sense." Lilith told him. "There is something my kind can do, damning a soul and corrupting him, turning him demonic like me. But it is only a start. My particular wish is to repay the Duchess for her...kindness."

There was something about libraries that Hannibal Lecter liked. While he didn't believe in gods, devils or anything in between, the closest he could come to a sacred feeling was standing in the quiet dusty sunlight of a library. Ages laid within the pages around. Worlds beyond score.

In that silence, Hannibal Lecter sat with a few books open before him. He would check one and then another. His nose would scrunch as he read one passage, obviously disagreeing with it. Referring to a different book, his expression would smooth out and he might nod to himself. It was proof positive to him that winners wrote the history books although he had already believed that. He had simply never thought to apply it to other matters outside of history itself.

Hannibal looked up as what looked like a woman to his human eyes swept in. As a matter of habit, Hannibal rose from his seat and gave her a short bow. Monster in human skin he might be, but Hannibal tried to not show disrespect for a lady. Before his pile of books sat the ever working tea kettle he had gotten from the closet along with a plate of flat crisped bread in strips like one might find at a carnival, powered sugar dusting them. Their taste wasn't as sweet, Lithuanians not the luxurious sort. The Žagarėliai was as close as they came for a non-festival. A minty scent rose from the hot tea.

"If you should like, ma'am."

Engaging in conversation with Loki isn't anywhere in Bruce's plans. As a matter of fact if he could go through his stay here without ever setting his eyes on the demigod he'd be thankful for it. And it's been only a few days but Bruce is starting to think that maybe he'll get lucky, just this once.

Honestly, he should've known better.

He's walking down a corridor of the library, a couple of books in hand, distracted enough that he bumps right into someone's back when he turns a corner.

"Sorry, I--" he starts apologizing, free hand reaching over should he need to help the other person keep their balance, when he notices exactly who he just bumped into. The hand is whitdrawn almost immediately, and he takes a step back. "... ah."

If Hannibal thought anything was odd or off on her reply, he made no mention or showed a sign of it.

"You would not be intruding. I would like to think my parents raised me better than to sit ignorant when a lady entered the room. Not to mention be a pig with what I have. Please, sit if you wish. I rarely turn away company."

A few steps, and he drew out the other chair for her to join him if she still wanted. An empty cup sat on the generic tea service should she want some of the minty brew. The books spread out before Hannibal were an eclectic mix in subjects and languages. The Germanic Gotterdammerung libretto half-covered a Polish book about properties and families in the Baltic states. An loose pile of English written world history books from the 1950s onwards was beside that. Two modern French books on surgery were opened to the newest advances in medication and diagnosis. The last oddity was a closed cookbook written in Japanese with a few paper tags to mark pages.

"I am Doctor Hannibal Lecter."

Except Bruce isn't another one, not really. He still feels like the odd one out, while the others will more easily see themselves as agents or members of this team, and even now he doesn't entirely feel like he's a part of it all. Maybe he's just been used to being on his own for too long, and the edges of him changed too much that he can't seem to fit into any puzzle.

That, and the fact that his edges often tend to change even now, they sometimes grow larger and break everything around him.

"It doesn't really matter what they consider me," he answers quietly, briefly looking up at Loki, but he doesn't keep eye contact. He focuses on anything around, the corner of the shelf, the edges of the books he's holding, while wondering if the demigod would even try anything. He doesn't even know how mad the guy is exactly. "I'm not a hero."

It's not that Bruce can't hold the gaze, it's that he doesn't want to. He does it unawarely, even when it comes to other people. Some kind of defensive mechanism, or an attempt to go by unnoticed, because if he's not looking at people, there's a lesser chance they'll notice he's even there to begin with.

Not that it works any in this particular case - if anything it only seems to serve as an invitation for Loki to lean closer to Bruce, which isn't nearly enough to surprise him any more than the sudden encounter already had, but it still makes him uncomfortable.

"I'm not here to do anything to you," he replies quietly, looking over to the people sitting on the tables nearby. When he talks again, it's with full knowledge that Loki isn't talking about Bruce - he's talking about the other guy, the beast inside the cage. "And I hardly think they've even noticed me here."

The question, though, is as much of a mystery to himself. What is he, really? He's not even sure what he considers himself. A man. A monster. Something lost in-between. There used to be a clear line, but it blurred each time he crossed it, until it was all but gone. "Just a man."

Maybe if he doesn't want angry women to throw books at him, he shouldn't go to the library so often.

Pepper has found the library as accommodating as the rest of the mansion seems to be: more than eager to provide, yet never giving just what she's looking for. Maybe she shouldn't be surprised that she hasn't had any luck finding books on the world they occupy now. There's no history, no politics, not even a myth on how it might have come to be. Then again, she's hardly scanned each of the shelves, and if such books did exist, she imagines they would be quite popular.

So she's there again, browsing the shelves for anything useful or of interest. She's only picked out some fiction for herself, a paperback with little heft, which feels woefully inadequate when Pepper turns the corner and sees a face she only knows from security footage and news broadcasts, but that stops her in her tracks all the same.

"Loki."

Wow Loki, no love for Darcy?

[personal profile] sorryitasedyou 2014-05-12 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, Tony had mentioned you were here - I'm Darcy. I don't know if you remember me from New Mexico... It was awhile ago." Though, the memory would stay with her forever - kind of hard to forget a giant metal monster destroying everything it comes across.

"There's definitely a surprising number of us here."

She offers a small smile, feeling slightly awkward without Thor as am introductory buffer.

Jane turned to look at Loki, her eyes rolling in answer to his question. Just her luck, of course, to be interrupted by Loki.

"I'm not going to ruin my notebook by throwing it at you, so you're safe there." Of course she left the possibility of throwing something else at him wide open.

"I heard about the incident in the library."
