Summary: Kevin likes to break into peoples' rooms! Why not brighten your day by coming home to find the representative of the Year of the Raccoon sitting in a pile of your stuff?
The Story:

Kevin's always been a little strange, but it hasn't particularly bothered him; it's not like he saw many people outside of his family, after all, and he got plenty of mental stimulation from his years being homeschooled by his mom.

And he found other forms of recreation that kept him busy and fulfilled, like breaking into peoples' rooms from time to time. Nothing like a little casual vandalism, right? At the most, he steals food and pokes around; he's not exactly a klepto, though sometimes he likes to take souvenirs. Never anything that valuable; he's not looking for money since it's not like he needs it. He'll be supported by his family forever, as long as he's there to keep Alice company.

He's been in the mansion long enough now to have some idea of habits, but he spends some time lurking around in the corners of hallways and then waiting for someone to leave their room. He slips in after them and looks around their room for things of interest, eating whatever food he might find if it looks good.

[ OOC: Come home to find Kevin in your room! Or run into him on your way in/his way out "help" him turn into a raccoon! Or meet in some other way -- I'm easy. :) ]

So, Kevin is supposed to stay away from outsiders. That's the whole deal about the curse, and the curse is all wrapped up in why he never did manage to get himself into college, and why he had to let go of the idea that he might one day go into politics and make a difference in the world. Obviously he was thinking too big; his difference-making is all about Alice and his family, and that's just the way it is, that's just his life. And there's no point in not being okay with it because there's no alternative.

But sometimes he does wonder about outsiders and their lives. That's all; he's just curious.

The problem is that he's supposed to only be curious when they're not there. Whoops. He gets up from the desk chair and turns around, holding one of Eames's books in his hand.

"Um. No. Just... looking. It's a habit of mine." He smiles apologetically and tries as hard as he can to pretend like that raccoon isn't coming out from the bathroom and ambling over toward Kevin. If he pretends like it doesn't exist, then it doesn't exist, right?

"Everyone's room is so different. It's hard not to be curious."

Well, the man seems harmless enough, though the raccoon is another matter. Eames has heard those animals could be pretty vicious, so he'll keep it in his peripheral vision while focusing on the man.

"Find anything interesting?" Eames means in his room, but he won't say no to hearing about anyone else's. To be a bit more hospitable, he crossed into the room, plopping down on one of the chairs. "Though if I were you and keen on snooping, I'd get better about hiding my tracks."

"I like this book?" He doesn't go rifling through peoples' personal papers or anything (not too closely anyway); he does tend to press when he thinks someone might be hiding something interesting somewhere.

"It's easier not to get caught when I could sneak into peoples' houses. More of a chance of noticing them come home, more places to escape from." And maybe there's an element of adrenaline rush there that had taken Kevin a while to get used to, but now feel like a booster against real threats.

"Why, are you hiding anything good?"

Eames takes in the book he's holding up, whistling slightly. "That seems to be a bit of heavy reading for a robber." Not that Eames can talk, but still.

He does nod in agreement at this man's assessment. A place like this would definitely be difficult to steal from, which is why it's always so important to case a place. Perhaps this man is less thief than a very nosy neighbor.

"Depends on the definition of good. I don't have anything here that's too noteworthy. I always figured it would be taken away at any moment so no need to get attached." The mansion giveth, the mansion taketh.

"That's pretty smart. For the record, I wasn't trying to take anything from you."

The raccoon starts sniffing around Kevin's feet and then finally sits on his foot; it has something in its hands, something he found to eat, and the raccoon nibbles on it, oblivious to the others.

"I'm not really a robber, more... curious."
