Ritsuka and Seimei [ complete ]
Who // Ritsuka and Seimei
Where // Library under a table
When // Sometime Last Night
Rating // GFor sickening brotherly cuteness
Summary // Good ole' times for the two. Stories, peanut butter, and a blanket tent. awes
Seimei sat on the bed, looking out the small window. It would not budge, no matter how much he tried. Sighing, he lay back.
"Guess I can't even get any fresh clean air..." he stretched and stood, making his way to the shower. In his mind, at least he could be clean.
Ritsuka was getting things ready for their sleepover in the library. He had with him a folded up sheet, a flashlight, and of course a big jar of peanut butter he had gotten from the kitchen. It was going to be just like old times. Ritsuka liked things to be this way.
He also had his new upgraded camera with him. Jr had put something in it so that now Ritsuka could take many pictures as well as record audio and video. He wanted to show Seimei this. He waited for him to get out of the shower, playing with his camera on the bathroom counter and kicking his feet back and forth.
Seimei climbed out of the scalding hot shower. His skin was bright pink and he felt refreshed. He came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"Look Seimei! It's a video camera too." Ritsuka held up the device. He wasn't recording, but he wanted to show Seimei how neat his new contraption was. "Jr fixed it for me."
He looked at Seimei's skin and frowned, he looked up at Seimei with large eyes, "you shouldn't scrub so hard. Does your skin hurt?"
He shook his head. "No, it feels alive, actually." he looked at the gadge. "What is it? It doesn't look like your old camera..." he studied the device for a moment and then went to the closet.
"Ready for the slumber party?" he asked, pretending to sound excited.
"It's because Jr fixed it up and now it records voices and makes movies." Ritsuka beamed when Seimei mentioned the slumber party. He hopped off the counter and grabbed the materials he had gotten together in a bag. "I am. I brought peanut butter too!" He was so much happier now that Seimei was at the mansion. It was as if a new Ritsuka had appeared out of no where, a kinder and nicer Ritsuka.
Seimei laughed as he pulled on a pair of pajama bottoms and a tee. "Well lets see what kind of movies we can make, how's that sound? Maybe you could act out one of your favorite stories and put it on for the other residents here... Too depressed, they are." he smiled, nudging Ritsuka.
Ritsuka shook his head as his cheeks reddened, "I could never do that..but we can make movies together. Maybe I can record you telling me one of the stories." he took his brother's hand and lead him out of the door and towards the library. This time, he wouldn't be going there empty handed.
Laughing, he followed his brother. "I'm a horrible actor, you know that!" he ruffled his brother between the ears.
"Decide on what story you wanna hear?"
"Nuh uh. You're better than I am!" Ritsuka gaves his brother a small push. He continued to pull him towards their destination. Shortly after, they arrived at the library.
"Hm..I want to hear the one about Goldilocks and the Three Bears." They entered the library and Ritsuka lead Seimei towards the back corner where a large table was so that they could set up a tent.
"You do this often kiddo? No one bothers you in here?" he watched his brother fast at work, throwing the blanket over the table, making a makeshift tent.
"Well, alright. I don't really remember it well." he laughed nervously.
"Nope. Nobody ever really comes to the library." Ritsuka's ears drooped slightly. "I guess..its a little obvious I'm happy you're here.." He peeked under the blanket before going under it, his head peered out of the open space as a hand motioned for Seimei to join him. He was quite proud of this tent.
"Its okay, you can make the parts you don't remember up."
He climbed down on all fours and went under the table. "Roomy." he chuckled, laying on his stomach.
"So, there was a girl. Blonde hair, blue eyes, really perky and happy. She was spoiled rotten, always getting what she wanted." He grinned "Sounds like a brat eh?" he nudged Ritsuka
Ritsuka layed by Seimei's side, turning his face towards him. He layed down just like Seimei did too, on his stomach.
"She does," Ritsuka smiled and let out a tiny laugh, he hardly ever laughed, but around Seimei it came naturally. "Glad I'm not," he nudged his brother back before resting his head on his hands.
He shook his head and smiled, continuing on with the story. "This girl, Goldilocks, went out one day, against her mothers wishes. She went into the forest alone, and was busy picking daisies and flowers. She came across a house, a tiny ivy cottage. She peered inside, looking for someone to play with. However the house looked deserted. There was food out on the table, and from what she could see, it still looked hot. She hadn't noticed that her tummy was rumbling."
At that moment, he pounced on Ritsuka and tickled the boy. "She went inside, looking to eat the food." he smiled
"And she ate the baby bear's porridge first. Then mama bear's," Ritsuka continued the story. He knew it all too well, but he always enjoyed having Seimei tell it to him. When he was scared, Seimei used to tell him stories to help him fall asleep. He also stayed with him on those nights his mother got a certain way.
"But she was STILL hungry, wasn't she Seimei?"
He laughed and nodded. "She did. A very hungry girl. She must have been huge" he puffed out his cheeks, making silly faces at the boy. "Wanna finish?" he winked
Ritsuka poked Seimei's puffed cheek so that he made a funny sound when the air came out of his mouth. " Yea, like a tub of lard. Okay. So..The bears came back and baby bear sat at the table first and said that someone had eaten his food, then mama bear did the same, and then papa bear, but Goldilocks was so tired after eating, she slept in their beds! and then they found her in papa bears bed. She's an intruder, isn't she Seimei?" Ristuka stopped for a moment.
He took the flashlight and flicked it on, placing it under his chin for a 'spooky' effect. "Then they ate her up!"
Seimei nodded. "A bad girl that deserved to be eaten!" he pretended to be scared when he finished the story.
He rested his head on his hands, face down. "Do you miss home Ritsuka?"
Ritsuka tilted his head, "I was at first, but I've found home now. You're here. My friends are back home and I can wait for them. I'll just make sure to show them all the new friends I made through pictures."
He debated on showing Seimei the album, he would show him later, "Do you want something to eat? You look tired.." Ritsuka was still wide awake, he didn't want Seimei to fall asleep without having fun.
He shook his head. He chose his words carefully. He wondered what life was like while he was... dead.
"What... What happened after I died? What happened before you came here?" he asked quietly
"..oh..that.." Ritsuka sighed slightly. He couldn't avoid the question anymore from Seimei. He decided to just tell him what happened so that he didn't ever have to mention it again.
"..Well..after, I couldn't..I couldn't remember who I was and I was scared of what Mom did. I didn't know how to act around her or what the real Ritsuka liked. Then I met Soubi and I realized...I'm Ritsuka. I am the real me..I don' t know how to explain it.."
"How'd you forget who you were?" he reached out and rubbed the boy's head.
"You're my picture happy brother. The little boy who always makes me smile." he grinned.
Ritsuka squeezed his eyes shut as Seimei ruffled his hair, "I don't know. I guess it doesn't make much sense. I don't think my doctor understood either."
Ritsuka pulled out the jar of peanut butter. "I do?" Ritsuka blushed and smiled at Seimei's comment. "We should take a new picture," Ritsuka said as he attempted to unscrew the jar of peanut butter.
He chuckled "Will it take a clear photo under this table?"
Seeing Ritsuka having trouble open the jar, he took it from him and losened it a little, handing it back to him. "I can't open it either..."
"It should. Jr said it does all sorts of things," Ritsuka's brow furrowed as he took the jar in his hands. Why wouldn't it open. He hit it lightly against the leg of the table. Maybe that would loosen the seal. He tried to open it again, using all his strength until he heard a 'po
p' "There." Ritsuka presented the jar to Seimei.
Chuckling, he stuck his finger inside the jar, getting some peanut butter on his finger. He licked it off and grinned, getting a silly idea of attacking rits with peanut butter.
He scooped a clean finger inside and got some and smeared it on Ritsuka's cheek while he wasn't looking. Laughing, he shook his head
"hey!" Ritsuka laughed and dipped his finger in the jar. "That's not fair! I wasn't ready!" He dabbed a some of the peanut butter on Seimei's nose before trying to reach his tongue to his cheek, he only had gotten a small amount of peanut and it seemed like a waste to try and wipe it off on the sheet. "Now you have some too!"
He laughed and nuzzled his brother with peanutbutter ridden nose.
"I'm glad I'm here..." he said, laughter subsided
"Ewww" Ritsuka laughed as he was attacked by the peanut butter monser. He looked up at Seimei when he stopped laughing. "I'm glad you're here too, big brother. But you still have something on your nose!" he pointed out on purpose.
He laughed and wiped it off. He licked the peanut butter off Ritsuka's cheek "All gone." he smiled
Ritsuka giggled because he felt like he was being tickled. "S-stop it!" He curled into a small ball, his stomach hurt slightly from laughing so much, but it was a welcomed feeling at that. "I'm going to put peanut butter all over your face!"
He shook his head "Nuh uh!" he took the peanut butter and hid it.
He shook his head "Eat it, or make me wear it?" he grinned, keeping the jaw from his brother. "You have some on your face still, eat that." he chuckled, all the while not believing he licked Ritsuka's face.
"Huh?" Ritsuka touched his cheek where the peanut butter still was, but now it was even sticker than before now that Seimei licked it. "You ate it already!" He rubbed the peanut butter off his cheek and onto his hand, "See." he held up his hand like he was going to give Seimei a high five. He wiggled his fingers slightly and some of the peanut butter goo fell onto the floor.
With a turned up nose, he slid the jar back to Ritsuka. "Ewww thats unneeded..." he laughed
"But now I have the peanut butter back," he rubbed the gross peanut butter on the sheet. Unscrewing the cap on the car, Ritsuka reached inside the bag he brought and took out a spoon. the peanut butter was delicious! The mansion never failed to deliver good food. "You still don't like germs, do you?"
He shook his head. "No. The cause disease and..." he shuddered, just thinking of where the germs come from and harbor themselves.
"You have it back, do you have milk to wash it down with?" he asked, turning over on his back, staring up at the bottom side of the table.
"I should in the bag." Ritsuka stayed on his stomach and lifted up his feet, swinging them back and forth as he ate more peanut butter. "But, you can't be hurt by the germs anymore. You don't have to worry about them anymore, Seimei."
He opened his mouth to say something, but he forgot. He was supposed to be dead. His mind started racing. "Old habits I guess?" He shrugged, not liking this new realization very much.
"I still feel very much alive... I guess I can't help but worry about them?"
"I wonder what you are though, because..you aren't..that anymore, but you aren't the other one either." Ritsuka's put the peanut butter down and poured a glass of milk for himself and Seimei.
He took the glass and rolled over to drink it. He stared into the white liquid and thought a moment. He was alive. He never died. Of course Ritsuka didn't know this.
He ran his tongue on the inside of his mouth, feeling the still missing teeth. "I suppose I am what every other... dead, person is?"
Ritsuka's head hurt when he thought about it too much. Maybe it was best not to think about the details. Besides, Seimei was here now, and he was very much alive- or so he seemed to be. He scooted closer to his brother, grabbing the milk and takig a sip of it. "You arent just any person."
He nodded. He definately wasn't the person Ritsuka thought he was. "No, I am your brother." he beamed down on the little boy.
Ritsuka smiled widely, "the best one there is." he gave Seimei a hug, wrapping his little arms around him.
He grinned. "Lets get some sleep, okay kiddo?" he hugged Ritsuka back, albeit not so enthusiastically.
Ritsuka nodded, he was feeling tired afterall. He pulled out a blanket from the bag, he had thought of pretty much everything. After finishing off the rest of the milk and recapping the peanut butter, he pushed those things aside.
"You did come prepared!" he said, heling ritsuka clean up the mess. He took the blanket and after ritsuka layed down, he put the blanket over both of them.
As much as he didn't want to admit it, it felt good to be like this... Even if it was only last week they camped out back home. His life had changed so quickly. Going from planning his own death and trying to get to Seven Moons... To being right back where he started. Such a change of events...
"Good night Ritsuka. Sleep well, okay?" he kissed the boys forehead. He smelled like peanut butter.
"okay.." Ritsuka let out a yawn before curling up close to Seimei for warmth. Even if they never got back home, at least Ritsuka had Seimei back. Soubi was somewhere here too, and that also made Ritsuka feel more at home. Soubi had become a big part of Ritsuka's life when Seimei was gone. He wondered if he left this place, if Seimei would come with him..Before long he had drifted off to sleep with all these thoughts subsiding in his mind.
