OPEN | the "Lost People" mingle!

Who: Every lonely person with a story to tell! (Check out the OOC details if you haven't yet!) Oh, and Peter Pan ([personal profile] boyhood), too.
Where: Mingles are out on the mansion grounds.
When: June 4th-6th, night.
Rating: PG-13? We'll see.
Summary: Peter is up to old tricks. Using his influence as the Pied Piper, Peter gathers together everyone in Wonderland he can for a celebration. Are you ready to make some new friends, sad sacks? This doubles as a convenient excuse to see how many vulnerable children there are.
The Story:

So you heard a little tune on the air and you've come to play! The more, the merrier. Night 1 isn't strictly an action event, but if you'd like to have your characters react, or just want to thread something out for that time, go for it. Night 2 and Night 3 are where the action's at. The prompts are general ideas of what's going on!

Anyone who isn't invited is going to find they can't figure out where everyone's disappeared to, exactly, and if they do go to a location, it's going to look like nothing's going on. Strange, huh? For those who are invited, he only rule is this: mingle to your hearts' content! Make new posts, tag into things, do what makes the most fun!

After each night, everyone will be free to disperse before the sun comes up. They'll wake up in their beds feeling refreshed, with the pleasant, surreal sense they've just had a sweet dream.

Except it wasn't really a dream, was it?

[Katniss shrugs in response. That doesn't matter to her. It's never mattered to anyone in the Seam or any part of District 12. There were few things that the Captiol couldn't truly take from them. And dancing, their small celebrations, had been one of them.

She hadn't had a reason to dance since Finnick and Annie's wedding. But for whatever inspired her today, she wasn't going to abandon the dance floor just because her latest partner said no.]

It's not that hard.

Making a fool of yourself? [ the corners of her mouth twitch upward. cora hale has never made an excuse in her life, always taking it by the neck and wringing anything tossed her way. the lemons that had hit her in the back of the head and over her heart had been caught within her palms, crushed beneath her strength — when life threw lemons at cora hale, she didn't make lemonade from them. she destroyed the skin and the juice inside. but dancing? it's something she can't destroy, not without destroying some part of herself — perhaps a part she had wished had died a long time ago. ]

[ but she relents, slightly. with an exhale, she closes her eyes, pinches her mouth, then opens them. it's better than an eye roll — directed at herself. ] If it's anything like the Macarena, I'm sitting out.

[She looks blankly at the other girl. She's never heard of the Macarena. She's not even certain if it's a dance or a person or maybe even a place. But Katniss understands the fear of making a fool of one's self. She had been in the spotlight far too much the past couple of years in her life.

It could had been easy then, so easy, to mess up even a little and never live it down.]

I don't know what that is.

[ cora's waiting for the punchline, the one that never comes. ]

[ she looks at her expectantly, eyebrows raised. ] When I dance they call me macarena and the boys they say that I'm buena? [ she doesn't sing it, but she's prepared to slowly recount the dance moves, in case katniss is one of those who remembers the music, forgets the lyrics, and lives and breathes the dance moves. ]

[ without the vigour, cora throws her hands out, palms down, right then left, before flipping them over — right then left — and ends with clapping them on her shoulders. ] You don't know that song?
