OPEN | the "Lost People" mingle!

Who: Every lonely person with a story to tell! (Check out the OOC details if you haven't yet!) Oh, and Peter Pan ([personal profile] boyhood), too.
Where: Mingles are out on the mansion grounds.
When: June 4th-6th, night.
Rating: PG-13? We'll see.
Summary: Peter is up to old tricks. Using his influence as the Pied Piper, Peter gathers together everyone in Wonderland he can for a celebration. Are you ready to make some new friends, sad sacks? This doubles as a convenient excuse to see how many vulnerable children there are.
The Story:

So you heard a little tune on the air and you've come to play! The more, the merrier. Night 1 isn't strictly an action event, but if you'd like to have your characters react, or just want to thread something out for that time, go for it. Night 2 and Night 3 are where the action's at. The prompts are general ideas of what's going on!

Anyone who isn't invited is going to find they can't figure out where everyone's disappeared to, exactly, and if they do go to a location, it's going to look like nothing's going on. Strange, huh? For those who are invited, he only rule is this: mingle to your hearts' content! Make new posts, tag into things, do what makes the most fun!

After each night, everyone will be free to disperse before the sun comes up. They'll wake up in their beds feeling refreshed, with the pleasant, surreal sense they've just had a sweet dream.

Except it wasn't really a dream, was it?

[The spin is unexpected and, for a second, she forgets to contemplate his question and laughs instead - caught up in the exhilaration of the spin. When she faces him again, the smile is still beaming on her face. Her hand falls on his bicep and finally, she shrugs and her bright expression disappears.]

I'm not good at being a follower. [No. No, she's never been good at that. Listening, obeying the rules. But then... what kind of leader had she been? Getting her team killed on a suicide attempt she never followed through with?] But I'm not a leader either.

That doesn't leave you with a lot of options, does it? [ His hands fall to her waist to steady her, his grin matching hers as he takes the lead for a moment and dances them about the fire. ] Are you more of a loner then?

[She lets him take the lead, falling in line with his steps easily. It's something she and Prim would often do as children, dancing those long winter nights away. Take turns. Lead and follow. It makes it easy enough to do now.]

Yeah. [Though, oddly, not tonight. Tonight, she actually wants to be around people. To enjoy herself.] I- I'm not a very good person.

Well, who is? [ Simon rolls his eyes at that, but he's smiling at her warmly, sliding a finger in to tip her chin back up. ] People that claim they're good people are usually the ones you gotta watch out for, after all. They're probably either lying, delusional, or trying to sell you something.

[She lets him tilt her chin back up and smiles a little shyly. It's like something Gale would do. Or Peeta. Thinking about either of them makes her heart hurt for entirely different reasons. She doesn't know this boy. She has no idea what he's like.

For tonight, she wants to pretend that maybe she's a good enough person to deserve at least one friend in her life.]

Some people are.

[People like Prim.]

Yeah, but they're usually not the ones bragging about it. In fact, I think most of them would say they're not all that great either.

[ Simon has his own fair share of examples to draw from back home, even if Abel is such a complicated mix of humanity. To keep that smile on her lips, he spins her into another twirl again, exhilarating as the tempo of the music speeds up and he moves so they can keep pace. ]

[It's a good distraction, exactly the sort that she needs. He spins her around and she laughs despite herself. Her steps are graceful. It's not a skill that has come naturally to her, not like singing or hunting. But after so many years of dancing in District 12 celebrations, it's hard to be awkward about it.

She's happy to let him take the lead from her and follow this time. So long as they're still having fun.]

You're good at this.

Am I? Thanks. It's been a while since I've gotten to. Good to know I haven't forgotten.

[ He grins down at her, comfortable and cheerful, especially when he gets a laugh from her. He'll take that as a good sign and an accomplishment. ]
