So a Psychic And A Vampire Hunter Walk Into A Bar
Who: Saki Hanajima & Sir Integra Hellsing
Where: "That strange eating area" a.k.a the dining room.
When: 7/19 Afternoon
Rating: PG, will change if needed.
Summary: Hellsing invites Hana to lunch. Suddenly they're becoming friends.
The Story:
For all the love that Utoni and Tohru showered upon her, Saki Hanajima was still no expert on acquiring friends. Some part of her believed she didn't need any more than she already had - another part of her still thought she didn't deserve them. But despite doing her best to 'creep away' the people of Wonderland, she managed to attain a few close companions. Apparently, Sir Integra Hellsing aspired to be one of them. How odd.
Saki had arrived first. On one level, it was to get an advanced reading on Integra's waves. For all the kindness over words in journals, it was better to get an in-person hearing. On the second level... She was a little excited. It wasn't that often that people actually reached out an invitation to her. Yay.
As usual, she wore all black, painted her nails black, but today wrapped up her hair in a braid, since they would be eating. She sat, and waited. But of course, there was that one thought that whispered in the back of her mind, and it would keep whispering not matter how desperately she attempted to ignore it.
Angel.

Angel.

"Good day." She announced her arrival, pulling out her own chair and taking a seat. "I hope you haven't been waiting very long."
no subject
Huh. She'd only seen Integra a few times, so to see the older woman in an actual dress instead of the pantsuit was a small shock. She supposed it would have been the same, if anyone saw Saki in a color than black.
She blinked once, and then politely bowed her head. "Thank you for coming, Sir Integra."
The emotions were genuine. So far so good.

Despite how getting to Wonderland had made her make some enemies, there were a select few she actually enjoyed talking to. This girl, as strange as she was, definitely fit that ticket.

"I'm not asking for pity... But I was surprised. Not only are you trusting, but trusting someone like me... I know I'm strange. I make it a point to be strange. I know it's wrong, but... I'm often stuck on the idea I should push people away, to protect them."
no subject
"Tell me, when did these powers awaken? How well can you control them?"
no subject
"... I was born with them. I could not control them for a long time. All the voices around me... they were always in my head. It almost drove me insane... I finally learned how to block them out a few years ago. Now it's all a matter of choosing. I can choose to block them out, or listen at my discretion."
no subject
"You should embrace your abilities. Being different doesn't necessarily mean you should have to push other away now that you can control it."
no subject
Yet she spoke as if nothing happened.
"It's easier said than done... And I am willing to use my abilities to protect those I love. But... it's still a curse. I have an unfair advantage over people... and I'll always carry my sin with me."
She took her glass. Sipped.
"... I almost killed a boy."
no subject
"You didn't kill him. We all make mistakes and all we're left with is the choice to learn from it. Inner strength is hard to find but necessary."
no subject
"But I wanted to kill him. I really wished, in that moment, for him to die. Maybe it was because I was so young that I didn't succeed... or he had a strong body... I'll never know. That's why I put a lid on my emotions."
Sip. Trace, trace.
"I understand your intentions... and I appreciate them. You're a good person."
no subject
Integra was so desensitized to murder by now that it was a natural occurrence. Sure, she didn't consider herself a good person because of it but someone had to do it. Someone had to get their hands dirty in the end. For that sake, she figured changing the subject would be best.
"How does one eat here? I've only heard that the food appears without hesitation."
no subject
"All you have to do is wish for it... even mentally. That's how I made the water appear. I thought, 'I wish we had some water', and that's how it came to be. You can do that for material things by using the closet in your room, as well. It has its limits... But half the fun is in experimentation."
And when she looked down, there was the meal she wished for - Shark Fin Soup, a rare and delicious Japanese delicacy. Yum.
no subject
"I'll have to try this in my closet. This is quite pleasant, actually. To think I could ask for anything..."
And she'll add a glass of wine. Perfect. Okay, so maybe not all magic is bad.
no subject
"Almost anything." Saki corrected, after another long mouthful. "You can't ask for anything wouldn't fit in the closet. But it is one of the more useful comforts of our cage... It provided me with almost every essential need I had for the party I threw a few weeks ago."
no subject
Now she was probably going to spend her time testing the closets. Sure, it's not exactly the best thing to do but being around meant you had a lot of free time. She brought the napkin to her lap and picked up her utensils. She was quite a sophisticated young lady taking small bites and never filling up her mouth. The wine was great, just perfect.
"What have you asked from it?"
no subject
"Aside from clothes and make-up... Once, a companion and I took turns taking out DVDs with only the vaguest of descriptions. We'd think, I want to watch a documentary, and we'd pull one out to see what Wonderland wanted us to see."
WOOPS, SORRY.
"Were they at least decent? Were they of your world, per say?"
no worries~
"They weren't my cup of tea... But then, it's difficult to tell if they were my world. I think it's impossible to know everything about where you live. I don't even do too well in school."
no subject
It was a very interesting notion but difficult. What if they left Wonderland and accidentally went to the wrong place? Was that possible too?
