[open] out for all that i can get
Who: Sam Wilson and you!
Where: All around. Seriously he's been cooped up.
When: 7/29
Rating: PG-13. Will adjust if necessary.
Summary: Sam is tooling around on his own now that his leg is healed. Expect a cane and sass.
The Story:
His recovery time was slow, but he didn't mind it so much. He played video games with Clint, watched movies with Steve and Natasha and talked to anyone who came close enough. It wasn't horrible. The amount of people stuffed into this house was actually a benefit to a guy stuck in a walking cast. He could walk now though. With the help of a cane, but he could walk. He healed up with ease. He confined himself to his room when he could just to stay out of the way in case things got too crazy. No one needed to worry about the guy who could barely walk on his own. He didn't want to become a liability to them.
If you find Sam he's most likely wandering around the grounds. Inside and outside. He's just trying to get used to walking fully on his leg again. He makes a visit to the kitchen for food and then goes for a jog outside. He's trying to get full mobility back and that's gonna take some work, but he'll push himself if he has to.

There's sympathy in the glance he flicks Sam's way. "I can imagine the adjustment would be hard." God knew the one battle he'd seen still haunted him at times.
He tightens the top two bolts enough to hold the seals in place, and slides the last one home, tightening them at the bottom before he looks up with a smile.
"And that should do it -- you can let go. Thank you."

Sam appreciates the sympathy. It's always nice. But it can leave a weird taste in his mouth. He nods at Ianto though. Finally he removes his hands when he says he can. "Anything else? Rather make myself useful than take up space."

"I'm surprised you're not swamped in it yourself if you work in government," he adds, and holds up a couple of short pipes, one with a concave surface cut on the open end. "Can you hold these at right angles? Right here, near the top. I need to mark the position."

Sam reaches out to take the pipes and lines them up where Ianto wants them. He bends and tilts his head just a bit to get the right angles he wants. "I understand what you mean by it being relaxing. Repetitive tasks tend to bring that out in people."

He flashes a quick smile at Sam. "Stop by for coffee sometime when it's done, won't you?"

"Oh you can count on it, man. I'm expecting you to make me a fresh cup every morning. Seventh floor. Room twenty-five. I'm an early riser." He smiles wide and backs up out of the kitchen. "Good luck, Ianto."
