Erica had been doing her best to avoid the humans. While she fully understood it was her duty to watch over them, protect them from demonic influence and instead guide them towards the path of good, it didn't mean she had to like it. Humans were fickle and short-sighted - too caught up in their materialistic desires to stop for a moment and appreciate what they already have.
