Here it is again, yet it stings like the first time
Who: Seta Souji [
eatsyourscience] on the Mirrorside, Mirror!Seta Souji [
denyingpets] on the Realside, and anyone stuck with them on their respective sides of the glass
Where: All over Wonderland
When: From shortly after the Queen's announcement, until the end of the event
Rating: PG-13, to be safe
Summary: Souji and his Mirror have switched sides before, under circumstances that weren't entirely different.
The Story:
+ The Mirror +
It's been nearly two years since the Queen of Hearts ordered her Mirrors through the glass to keep the Real things from crossing through magical doors. That was when Souji's Mirror received this mark on his forehead, barely hidden behind his bangs, and it's been itching and stinging and driving him insane ever since. He has to get rid of it. He has to, and if he can't manage it, he'll ask her to unmake him. He can't stand it anymore.
He darts through the glass when he's ordered like a loyal thing and he begins to stalk to Real side. He'll find some information, some clue. He just has to look around, talk to people, make people talk to him. Anyone will do. Anyone at all.
+ The Real +
Moving over to the other side of the glass is an unexpected jolt, but it's not unfamiliar. Souji's been here in this room before, but the terrariums had spiders in them then. He takes a moment to wonder at what happened to them before shaking his head and leaving the room. He should see who else is on this side and see if there's anyone who needs any help. He can fight or heal, so he might come in handy.
[OOC Note: This log is a catch all for both Real Souji and Mirror Souji. It's open to anyone, whether we've planned something or not. Just let me know which one you want in the subject line.]

Then he pulls away and sighs. "I'm pretty sure they all are, mate. Most of them are completely mental in one way or another."
Maybe there's a couple of alright ones, but not enough to make him any less suspicious.
no subject
"We're stuck here, either way. Any idea what to do?"
no subject
"Not particularly. I didn't have a chance to grab my map or my cloak before I got swapped." He is incredibly annoyed about that part. "The only thing we can do is try to keep everyone safe until this is over."
That's not really the only thing though, and James grins a bit at the prospect of adventure. "Well, that and maybe go exploring a bit."
no subject
"We should. There's no real guarantee that the Duchess's riddle points to a location on our side of Wonderland."
no subject
It will be more brilliant if they actually manage to find the sword, but it's still a good start and James is feeling better about being here already.
no subject
He isn't bothered admitting that he didn't give the riddle much thought at all after about ten minutes of scanning it repeatedly. There were a few things that stuck out to him, but he doesn't have all that much faith in the Duchess herself--though he likes her quite a bit, oddly--and has a feeling that if they try to solve all of the hidden clues in the riddle, they'll be going around in circles for far longer than they probably actually have.
no subject
"Hm...Maybe outside?" he suggests. "We should look in all the spots that are really different from our side, that people can't really search without being here."
no subject
He only knows because that's where he came from.
"There isn't much out there to worry about, but between the two of us, we'll be fine if anything happens."
no subject
"Absolutely," James agrees. "There isn't a Mirror here who could take on both of us!"
no subject
Maybe that's a thing they should practice doing, if the Jabberwocky's coming back.
As they reach the stairs, Souji takes a second to glance around before proceeding down to the next floor, checking for anyone nearby.
"I don't think they can get back across right now."
no subject
That thought is far from his mind the second Souji speaks up though, and he looks alarmed by the idea of it.
"Wait. What do you mean they can't get back across? Does that mean we're stuck here?" He realizes immediately how stupid that sounds though, and amends it. "...I mean, more stuck than we normally would be."
no subject
"Mine was able to look at himself a couple of times. That shouldn't be possible."
no subject
"If that's true, then we've got bigger problems. How are we going to get back if they can't get back? And not just us, but everyone else who's stuck here too - not all of them can defend themselves. We need to be able to get back to our side of Wonderland."
no subject
"Maybe we should look around for others from our side and make sure they're okay."
It's not unlike wandering around dungeons looking for people who have been kidnapped. Souji's pretty good at that, although he'd feel better if he had a weapon.
"We could use their network, too."
no subject
"Yes, absolutely," he says. "I've already run into a few people here, but there are plenty of Mirrors who jump when the Queen of Hearts calls. I'm sure there are plenty more of us stuck on this side. Maybe we can try getting them to gather together? Safety in numbers and all that."
no subject
no subject
"Well, what happens after that?"
no subject
"Then they all die." After a couple seconds, he adds, "Every time."
no subject
That's just bizarre - so they all die more than once then? Maybe it's jsut Wonderland rubbing off on him, but if that's they really die every time...well, James makes a bit of a face at that.
"Why do they keep doing it then?" Shouldn't they have figured out by now that it's going to go badly?
no subject
no subject
"Where are we going?" he asks. Weren't they about to go outside a few minutes ago or something?
no subject
"To find some DVDs. I need to show you horror movies."
He is totally serious.
no subject
He thinks about it for a moment though, and then he shrugs.
"...Without any way back, I suppose we've got the time for at least one," he decides. Mostly because he's fairly curious himself. "What's a deeveedee though?"
no subject
Souji opens a door and decides the room will do. It already has a TV in it, so he gets to work rummaging a DVD player and a couple of movies from the closet. He only had a genre in mind and nothing specific, so when he pulls out The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Urban Legendz\s, and Bloody Reunion, he feels like those are decent examples.
"One of my friends really likes scary movies, but she likes the ones about ghosts and curses the best."
no subject
"Ghosts are not scary," he says. "I mean, if you catch the Bloody Baron on a bad day, certainly, but that's got more to do with how he was in life than the fact that he's a ghost."
Of course, there was that time Wonderland made him some sort of ghost, but that was absolutely horrible and obviously doesn't count.
